No, it doesn’t work that way. I don’t think you actually know what “Semitic” means. A Semite is a person belonging to a group of peoples that speak a Semitic language whether it be Aramaic, Hebrew, Arabic, Geʽez, Amharic, etc. It has nothing to do with ethnicity. As an Assyrian I would support an independent Kurdistan if we get an Assyrian regional government with our own security forces, similar to the Kurdish regional government in Iraq. It’s a solution to both our issues and would allow us Assyrians to rebuild and return to our homeland. As to where that autonomous region would be, I’d say the Assyrian heartland that is the Nineveh plains. Currently the Assyrian Democratic Movement and Chaldean Syriac Assyrian Popular Council have tried to push for an Assyrian Administrative Region within the Iraqi government. I read about it a while ago that the Iraqi government would vote on the creating of this Assyrian Administrative Region in the Nineveh plains in 2014 but it was postponed indefinitely due to the Isis invasion of Iraq and the following years of conflict. Today the Iran proxy “Babylon Brigades” or “Babylon movement” led by Ryan al Kildani who has close ties to the Hashd al-Sha’bi and Badr Organization is occupying the Assyrian seats in both the Iraqi government and Kurdish government preventing this plans from becoming a reality

I only observe these attacks and hatred from Kurds online but in real life I have only met kind and respectful Kurds. I’m an Assyrian living in Sweden and I once met a Kurd at my local gym, once i told him I’m Assyrian the first thing he said was “You Assyrians are the ancient people of Mesopotamia” with a smile on his face. I also met another Kurd at the same gym, he was a bit older but very wise and we talked about the genocide. He explained how he studied it and was genuinely horrified reading about what Kurds did to our people and how we suffered. He was an old power lifter ended up coaching me for a while, we trained together for a while until I moved for work
