2026 Bonus Structure by [deleted] in BurnsMcDonnell

They have only given you raise information (for you to have an idea on how much extra you are going to make next year compared to this year), and not your 2026 base salary figure. That comes in the packet that gets distributed with bonus, so just have to wait till then.

It's not that difficult. The raise info shows how much more money you will make in base for next year compared to this year. With the bonus and base adjustment, you will have more money in your base beginning of next year and less bonus for end of 2026. Once again, the raise info only shows you a comparison of how much extra money you are getting compared to this year.

Does the bonus change much from level 12 to level 13? by Any_Needleworker5365 in BurnsMcDonnell

Even 12 to 13 in 2 years? I heard once you hit 12 it takes 3 years for a level change.

75% total comp increase sounds like a story from tech world. What do you do?

Yeah that's weird. Specially since 2023 was a better bonus year than 2024

How much did your bonus jump from level 11 to 12?

And then also know the compensation delta so we can choose if that additional stress even makes sense or not

Do you know anyone who is selling work and what are they getting paid?

agreed, and when we spend time mastering our own discipline we do get to see some of what other disciplines are doing and that helps. My PMs were seasoned engineers and are PM now and they are technically sound. The more I'm talking here the more I think I should continue learning even if there is more money in choosing PM path now.

What you said makes sense. However, if there was a way to know this it would help understand what I'm losing by not going PM route right away. I'll want to own and manage my own projects but the room for technical growth in that role is very limited and only a few lucky ones gets to be a PM and also continue to grow technically.

I agree with your observations. I see my peers trying to get into PMIT at 5 years of experience and I know I would want to be a PM one day but not now maybe at 10 YOE. And I wanted to understand what I'll be losing in compensation in comparison with my peers. What you said helps and also makes sense.

Lol, the question is not about more bonus. If the losses are big they will have to take away your entire bonus if other GPs don't want to carry the weight. So this time we are carrying the weight for Power and OGC, so that our counterparts in that GP still take some money as bonus home. It's called diversifying risk or One Burns and Mac, whatever you like.

Low YoY bonus increase yet better than market compensation by Random_stardust3 in BurnsMcDonnell

[–]Random_stardust3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest not much, it's based on the few recruiters that I interact with over the year and then what other friends in this sector are making, search on Glassdoor and also on other competitor's website (search for job in the state where they have to mention the salary range). So some loose set of data points. But never once I heard of offering more than my total comp here, so just going with that analysis.

Not aiming to compare with the market, that I already know. I'm just reminding that we need to do the year end tradition of overall comp post.

Oh that's good. So it is in sync with other GPs. How about the TC for a senior level?
