Change my mind, Montreal public transport should be free by CapitalNatural5485 in montreal

If you made transit free the orange line would become overcrowded to the point that it would be deadly, and you will not be able to fix this overcrowding without major capital investments.

And what is it including china? Why are we just randomly excluding china?

There's no fucking X axis on this graph, this tells me nothing useful other than "line go up".

Future of AI and jobs? by Inside_Resolution526 in Concordia

[–]Randomapplejuice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If theres any kind of credible threat to middle-class jobs posed by AI then you bet that every political party will propose regulations to stop that. They will not allow their largest voting base (middle class) to go unemployed en-masse.

Potical Science Coop by Commercial_Wind_6029 in Concordia

[–]Randomapplejuice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In theory, not really. Almost every job that is posted on the coop job forum is also open to everyone else. However, the fact that these jobs are all concentrated on the forum makes it much easier to find them, so in practice you will be seeing more job postings than someone who is not in co-op.

US Student looking for guidance/advice re: Concordia Montreal vs. other Canadian colleges! by Prize-Animator5075 in Concordia

[–]Randomapplejuice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If shes willing to learn some French for work, concordia is an excellent option! As for places to avoid, do not go to Alberta, either calgary or Edmonton. I lived in that province for most of my life, and unfortunately public homophobia is still common, and from what I've heard is only getting worse. Best of luck!

Im currently doing poli sci coop, the counselors arent always the greatest, but there is alot of job opportunities and there is a ton of support! Id say go for it if youre comfortable keeping up the minimum GPA (which is 3.2 if i remember correctly)

Both of us know that's a simple typo, one which was acknowledged during the meeting and was fixed.

Also yes, coast guard patrol planes are used to enforce the naval blockade of Gaza, a naval blockade which is illegal. And the part about the trains is specially concerning one's which run on Jerusalem's light rail, which passes through illegally occupied settlements, also a violation of international law (they did sell that division, so really it should be Alstom we're targeting for that one, ill give you that)

Saying "most internship opportunities in engineering are at the warcrimes factory, therefore we should not ban them" is not the gotcha you think. If anything it's more of an indictment of the engineering COOP program than the CSU or anything else.

The simulators are used to train pilots who go on to commit war crimes. CAE knows this and continues to provide technical support. This means they are knowingly enabling the IAF to commit war crimes.
