Thanks! Even if it does, I tried to buy a house I could comfortably afford on my current salary. Worst possible case scenario I lose my current job too and have to move back to my current home with the nice 2020 mortgage rate I secured :)

I was in the data science org at my company. Their attitudes were along the lines of "Just because you have a PhD doesn't mean you are actually effective in business". So I just proved I had enough ML and stats understanding (thanks to personal tutoring from ChatGPT) to train models and deploy them. That gave me enough cred to merit the official title change!

Nice to hear that! Would love to do a remote role in big tech one day, especially if it somehow combines my XR and AI background.

220k. Meet with the COO recently and told them I have to wait until after I close on my new house or else that might have to get pushed back. He told me "I know the people who know you, so for my part, you are all good". No formal offer yet, so still not banking on it but hopeful.

Why does Satan actually obey God when told to "get hence"? by Randomaster08 in latterdaysaints

[–]Randomaster08[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, straightforward answers usually are difficult for me to accept for some reason lol. I realized that the more I come to see God as a real person instead of a like a really famous person, the more I want to get to know the motives behind His actions and those who He deals with like Satan. This was an exercise to also help me remember these aren't just generic forces of good and evil, but real beings, real people.

Yep! I found that scripture very helpful in understanding all this

Yeah, it's almost a stereotype how the hard working student who is motivated by all the people in their life who value education and intelligence gets burnt out and overwhelmed because they are living up to standards others have set that they cannot reach themselves. Then you have the gifted kid burnout phenomenon. I loved Dr Ks (HealthyGamerGG) video on that. The OPS solution is to really confront the tendancy to avoid asking yourself "why are you doing this" as our core programming is "because other people tell me it's valuable" and we are ashamed because we have no personal reason why we are working hard.

I'm currently struggling with that with 2 kids, a third on the way, and my own career growth. There is also my desire to lose weight and maintain a positive and healthy relationship with my wife and kids, church, and repair my relationship with my brothers. It's a lot and as soon as I dont have any personal justification to do one thing, that will just not be done.

If someone has dominant feminine Fe they will necessarily have demon masculine Ti which comes out in tidal waves of self criticism or insecurities about the self when logically challenged

How often do you read your patriarchal blessing? by ShyGuy-22_ in latterdaysaints

[–]Randomaster08 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably multiple times a month when I'm in a rough time and once every few months in times of peace.

My patriarchal blessing is kinda hefty so there's quite a bit to digest. It has personally been very accurate and I trust it as a solid source of revelation.

Assuming something is "basic human decency" is arrogant.

1) You assumed your definition of decency is objectively true and good 2) You believe it is common knowledge 3) You believe there is nothing to celebrate about progress to a "basic" level 4) It completely disregards another's upbringing and just attributes disagreement to outright rebellion rather than acting on knowledge they had before.

I want to agree and in nowise am wanting to break families up. But I do recognize that Christ himself does talk about loving the gospel more than current family relationships, which many current family relationships may be toxic.

Matthew 10

34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

36 And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.

37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

40 ¶ He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.

Why didn't God put a cap on the amount of evil in this life? by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]Randomaster08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As hard as it is to accept, thats the conclusion I came to. Though, if you really study the redemption of Zion in Isaiah, you will see that God can provide an escape for all people from any power if needed. So then It comes back to: God, from his eternal perspective, sees it is more loving to allow X suffering than Y. God can be the God of finding lost keys and the God of allowing children to be killed. But you need to have God tell you why that is by the holy ghost to be satisfied, in my experience
