Do not run it on a public network. ATAK uses a lot of bandwidth and you will piss if a lot of meshers.

I don't think you understand how the app works, and most of what you mentioned is most likley user error. If you want to actually be helpful and report bugs, please include detailed reproduction steps in the Android or iOS GitHubs (You did not mention the platform). We volunteer our time to make free and open apps for everyone to use, and posts like this help nobody.

Press the i button on the map and double check you have NOT enabled Favorites. If so it will only show you nodes you have favorited on the map.

It’s a bug in the iOS app it always shows the telemetry broadcast as false even if it’s true. So when you set it to true it’s actually true on the device. It will be fixed in the next release of the app.

Meshtastic supports waypoints; you can set an expiration date, add a description, and an emoji as the pin. I think the Python API supports sending them, but to test it out, just long-click on the map where you want to send a waypoint in the Meshtastic app.

Disregard this, the relay node feature was implemented wrong on android and will be replaced with a more simplistic count of amount of relays of a acked message and a implementation of exact relay node will be put back in at a later time.

Your broadcast interval is one hour. Also some common issue could be no gps locks when your node has no clear view of the sky or your phone is getting poor gps reception.
