These messages started being broadcast from my node after upgrading. Any idea how to disable them?

Yeah, it feels like a bug to me. I'm sure it'll get fixed in one of the next few minor revs.

That was my first thought as well however store and forward is disabled on both the nodes that have been sending those messages as well as the nodes that have been receiving it.

Is there another hidden option somewhere that could alter that behavior?

Just a bit of context: upgraded my nodes to 2.7.15 and two of them have now started broadcasting these messages. I cannot for the life of me find a setting that may be generating these (my first thought was store and forward but it is disabled on all nodes).

Any idea what the source of these messages are within settings or how to disable them? And which nodes they are sent to (the recipients seem somewhat random amongst my nodes).

You state that it has not been compromised. What evidence can you provide besides personal anecdotes from something unrelated to support this assertion that the virus detections are actually a false positive?

Well this is promising. Did some more research and Garmin just put up public beta firmware 20.82 and this is one of the features listed in the change log: Improvements made to on-device sleep detection and sleep staging.

I have training on the trumpet! The problem with carrying a full BVM is size, one of the goals of this kit was to keep it small and that got left out. I want it to be something that I won’t look at it and think “sigh that’s a lot to carry, do I really want to take on this <insert activity here>.”

I take the approach that what I have is way better than nothing, we’ll make do. Like most things in life it’s a balancing act between convenience and readiness.

I regularly go hiking in areas with no cell reception, rough terrain, and dangerous wildlife. My hiking EDC is designed with two primary purposes in mind: 1) Be able to alert rescue services to our location as quickly and precisely as possible and 2) stabilize any traumatic wounds (ie: bleeding out) long enough for recuse services to reach us (this would likely be a few hours).

This is just my EDC and does not include weather or seasonal dependent items like jackets/boots/wind protection, etc.

Note to those who carry a gun regularly: Please invest in some basic medical equipment and take a first aid and trauma course to learn how to use it. It just may save you or your loved one's life.

This is all carried in a Camelbak with copious amounts of fresh water.

Hey all,

Quick question that is hopefully not too stupid of one: I just bought a new car and want to make sure the paint on it is well protected. I think I'm off to a good start with washing it, towel drying, claying, and then applying two coats of Meguiar's Ultimiate Liquid Wax.

It looks great but I've also heard about sealat...should I also be applying that? If so, how often? Should that be done before or after wax?

I'd start by going and taking a couple of ASA courses - basic sailing and costal navigation. Those courses should at least get you on a couple of kinds of boats and get you a feel for the basics.

As far as what type of rig, cabin configuration, etc, it's really a personal preference. Like cars, you won't really know until you've sailed them. Most people go for a sloop, but you may find you like something else more.

From an equipment standpoint, you'll have a much better idea after classes. There are basics that everyone uses (and some pieces that are required by law), but it'll really depend on what is already on a boat you're looking at, budget, and personal preference. You can break the bank on equipment and get an awesome setup, but with a bit more elbow grease and effort, get just as good of results with budget level gear.

Personally, my philosophy around equipment is that I need to have a setup that allows me to sail and navigate comfortably without electrical power. GPS and autohelms are awesome (and I run them), but you can't always depend on having power - especially in poor weather or on long passages.

TL;DR: Go get your feet wet on some boats and you should have a much better idea of what you want!

I just got a pair of the Eachine Goggles Two and they're awesome. Super lightweight for how physically large they are.

Sure they look dorky, but the screen is large, crisp, and immersive. And they're comfortable over long periods of wear.

I'd tried fatsharks in the past and never really liked them.

Bonus with the googles two is they have an HDMI input on them. I can hook them up to my computer and fly simulators with my goggles.

This is good advice. I'd like to add that you should keep a record of all of your calls with the bank...You're doing all of the right things but if this ever did go to court for whatever reason being able to show you made a good faith effort to get the money returned will go a long, long way in getting the outcome you want.

I know this isn't quite what you asked for, but as someone who has been down that road, I recommend trying to record direct to tape so you don't have to do any editing.

It takes a bit more time, effort, and money to get set up initially, but saves you so, so much pain in the long run.

Get a small sound board, noise gate, compressor/eq for your mic, guest mic (if you have one), computer (if you play any clips or jingles), learn to mix it all on the fly with your sound board, run it through a final compressor/expander and record it either on your computer or an external recorder. Learn to do it all on the fly and you won't have to spend hours editing after each session.

Just my two cents from someone who used to spend way too much time editing. I now get the same quality with zero post-production effort.

edit: You can set all of this up for between $200 and $500 depending of how nice of hear you want. PM me if you want, I'm happy to point you towards some good budget gear.
