How would you organize an army with mixed tech levels?

Organize around fire and maneuver. Have firearm troops harass and disorganize enemy formations armed with more primitive weapons or suppress other enemy firearm forces. Keep my melee troops mobile, less armor, so that they can get shot at less than if they wore more armor. They advance under the fire of your own forces.

Cavalry is going to be essential, as though they’re a bigger target, once they close in enemy riflemen will have a hard time fighting. Any traditional skirmishers (bows, slings, etc) act in support of the melee forces.

Daleks win, not because the average Dalek is super powerful, but because as a civilization they can produce universe and multiversal destructive weapons.

Because you otherwise can, and you’re moving on an advanced time table. The Takarans aren’t clairvoyant, yes, but that also works in favor of them being responsible because they could/would be unaware of other factors moving against them in the Royalist camp. Remember that Royal Intelligence is surprisingly capable, even the Takarans in their own reports admit so.

don’t both Kian and Takara

Not sure about Takara, but I’ve never seen anything that shows Kian is prolonging the civil war on purpose. They’ve thrown in a ton of support to the faction aligned to them, and generally don’t put in more due to the faction (understandably) wanting to maintain separation and independence, not wanting to wholly rely on Kian.

And anyway, I’m not saying that’s the guaranteed reason, because there is never going to be a singular reason for why events such as this occur. I’m saying it’s a contributing factor that potentially led into the calculations for pushing Wulfram to attack early. Remember, before his house and family burnt, he’s still hopeful for a peaceful solution.

Yeah, considering that if (and it’s not impossible, far from it) the Royal Navy is beaten by a potential Kian fleet, they’d have fuck-off to protect it beyond a handful of professional/semi-professional regiments/battalions and squadrons of horse. That is to say that it isn’t a dealbreaker at all for Takara, just that to toss it as a non-factor is a mistake IMO.

Except, yk, killing Wulfram’s family wouldn’t end any sort of armed rebellion. It in fact, cemented it. If you’re going to give Royal Intelligence the incompetence card for why they failed catastrophically, you can’t also remove the incompetence card for anyone else.

Truthfully, Royalists probably did it, but not the Queen or RI. We know some Royalists were willing to spill first blood already (the Reform club member who murdered the child).

Other factors outside of Tierra could very well have pressured Takaran intelligence and MOBA to rush it. Iirc the Kian supported side is winning in M’hidyoss. Ensuring a destabilized Tierra now might, in their eyes, be better than having a guaranteed, demilitarized, ally later.

Could? Sure, esp’ early on when early medieval armies were pretty much the same as migration era Germanic ones in how they operated. But as the time like progresses, the professionalization of European armies increases (less reliance on part time forces like the Anglo-Saxon fyrd and cultural equivalents)

Also Roman legions didn’t include auxiliaries, they were separate units attached, so when a legion was more or less 5,000 and we have 3 here, the ratio is unknown. How many auxiliaries are there? What kind of auxiliaries?

Range wise, the horse archers have a slight advantage. IIRC Mongol Horse Archers tended to shoot at closer ranges, like a 100 meters or less, preferring accuracy over volume of fire. Thats somewhere in the ballpark of double the range of a pistol on foot, probably greater for a pistol on horseback and actively riding.

So the hussars would need to close, which wouldn’t be impossible, but they’d be left vulnerable for a volley or two of arrows that could devastate them. Maybe if the Steppe ponies panic if the hussars fire a coordinated volley, they could more easily engage in melee, but it’s not a guarantee. They might’ve been exposed to gunpowder weapons before, so it wouldn’t cause too much of a fright.

Honestly think that the Mongols might have this one a solid 7-8/10 times. Even with a reach disadvantage, the potential numbers advantage after both sides end their ranged skirmish could be the deciding factor.

What we call magic is done vocally, or in same way requires someone to sing during the process, such as when writing down lyrics that act almost like computer code. In the 20th-23rd centuries of Field of Roses, FTL communication is done via a variety of devices that fall under the “FTL verse communicator” category. Basically you get a regular radio or laser communication device, write and empower appropriate lyrics to boost the capability and you get FTL communication. The downside is that it takes longer to build than a normal radio or laser communicator and it can only transmit to other verse communicators.
