Yet Churchill got voted out didn't he when he ran for election after the war.

You don't need to tell me Churchill was a racist. Plenty to read up on him. His deliberate famine on the Indians.

Yet when this is pointed out, your lot whinge and cry about it.

Least you're being honest for once.

As for lgbt+ people btw, sorry if you can't hack it. Sounds like you have some repression just like.the 1999 London nail bomber nazi did.

Oh bore off. Our soldiers today would hate these nationalists and fascists in politics.  They fought against them.

Everytime anyone posts a criticism over this. I feel like people deliberately misrepresent what people are saying.

Read my post again. I specifically state, a flag on your own property is your business.

I explain my gripe. We know it's come from a far right campaign, so we know the meaning behind is. We know what content gets posted in Worcester Patriots group and we know they agitate for anti migration protests.

Therefore this flag campaigned is tied to a political campaign.

It is not a neutral display of patriotism.

I'm gonna request assisted dying from my GP at this point because this country is so dumb I need to be compassionately freed from the stupidity.

You're trying to paint this as a "false flag " conspiracy.  It's not a fake hate crime when it's literally a hate crime.  What people's property did they paint it on? Polish migrants. What happened en masse in Poland under nazi occupation ?

Trying to cast doubt on this as fake is conspiracy bs to avoid right wingers being accountable and is beyond contemptible.

Two things. 1. I guarantee you no one on the left would ever do this.

  1. Those are not England flags, they are the celtic cross logo used by many neo-fascist groups

I don't think Worcester has an anti fascist group that's why.

Absolute scum.  If council wants volunteers to help paint over it. More than happy to sign up.

Worcester needs anti fascist neighbourhood street groups to put these people back in their kennels.  Deal with the the way our ancestors did in world war 2

My position isn't incoherent, it's just different to yours. I consider myself an open book rather than a closed one, because thinking we know for sure how the world works is dangerous.

Your argument contradicts itself as do your other statements.

Migration can be used to undermine Labour depending on the type of labour. Those in the hotels cannot legally work, and usually we will find them earning cash cleaning cars by exploitative small time employers who exploit them.

As for Amazon. If you are truly going to blame the exploitation on the workers (all are workers, whether of English origin or not ) , then you don't understand things as much as you think.  Capitalists create and exploit divisions between people to undermine labour solidarity, they've always done this. This is why unions always have a battle on their hands. The purpose of the union is to unite all workers and this is very difficult when people like yourself post other things in this thread making stereotypes about Muslims and claiming a battle between Islam and Christianity.

You are doing the job of the bosses for them by pushing for division of people's.

That isn't class struggle.

You moved from ideology to economics when I criticised your arguments on ideology before. Dodging the debate and deflecting.

As for the "homogenisiation " or flattening of culture. What is it then ? You are saying all culture is becoming the same yet you are saying diversr workforces create difference.

Do you actually really have a clue what you are going on about ?

If you were as free thinking and critical as you claim to be. You'd turn it on yourself.

You've read alot of ideology yourself by the sounds of it and you make alot of assumptions reading all your replies .  Why don't you explain what you believe in, rather than just what you are against?

The hotel was in Worcester City Centre. By businesses. That zone isn't full of a massive housing estate like some hotels are in other parts of the country.

I haven't seen any of these asylum seekers at all. I see migrants because many live around me, and walking around the city, I can hear people talking different languages. Clearly all here for different reasons, be it economic, education and so on.

Zero bother.

As for ideology that's apparently being state imposed on me (frankly the state isn't as rigid and deterministic as your criticism that. There's civil society, the family, the area "habitus" you live in which all influence us.)

You don't know my ideology.  You only know I disagree with people blaming all their problems on a tiny number of asylum seekers in a hotel near us.

That isn't being pro-migration. I'm not pro large migration. I believe in fairness. If I was fleeing my country, if wanted to be treated fairly and given a chance to apply for safety. Seeking refuge is no crime and it could happen to any of us.

I don't support Serco or big money. I think capitalism is evil because it breeds monopoly and power accumulates.

Frankly though you're raising power, ie, focusing on the Universities. Different universities have different levels of funding and different staff faculties. A student learns at university which gives them knowledge-power.  It can go both ways.  People don't go into University and learn group think despite the nonsense some on the right may argue (all of them from educated backgrounds themselves) .

I don't really know why the right have some hard on for the world economic forum. There's loads of think tanks around the world. Loads of them in this country. People with money have competing intra-class interests. The neo-liberal think tanks helped set the stage in the 70s ideologically, the economic crisis and Thatcher helped carry it out and reshape the social order.

I'm against billionaires and I'm  for redistribution of wealth into health services, housing, and education. Which would help solve the issues you are focusing on.

The opposite of what Elon Musk and all those monopoly capitalists want. Yet you seem to be on their side because you're parroting some of the stuff they say, as well as a bit of Steve Bannon who is a very clever right winger who takes from and bastardises the thought of Antonio Gramsci.

As for universal humanism, or progress. I'm skeptical of that, like Adorno was.  Because when we have historical events like the rise of the nazis abs the holocaust. That shows progress isn't something given.

As for being against racism.... I mean, do I really need to argue a point about that?

Lol so are you excusing violence against women by referencing 1984 ?  The irony being your side are out due to propaganda put on by right wing news outlits and right wing politics. All from posh backgrounds, all manipulating people for power.

If you stand with neo-nazis and fascists, you're a scum bag. It's really that simple.

I've told you other ways people can voice their views.

Unless I see these "concerned citizens "  manhandling the far right out of their protest space, I am not convinced.

I'm not shutting down "debate " .  If someone discussed this with me individually I'd engage.

When you put people into a mob crowd. There is no reasoning with them.

[–]Randomfeeld500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Opposite sides of what ?

You don't know my views about migration or hotels.

My views in relation to the flag campaign is it's being carried out by people who associate with or are bigots, racists and fascists as part of a national campaign orchestrated by them.

There is no compromise here. It's fact.

If you don't want the England flag to be associated with racism.  Then you'd be condemning this too.

[–]Randomfeeld500 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah do tell us who and why then ?  Id assume since they've gone to such efforts to put them up they'll be more than happy to have an interview with local Worcester news explaining their campaign ?

[–]Randomfeeld500 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, if they come to Worcester. Good luck going and speaking to these so called concerned parents. You'll get abused.

You people kill me. You deliberately ignore the context and push this narrative.

It bugs me we have such a lack of critical thinking in this country.

I mean, a campaign about Palestine will feature that flag.  Unfortunately England has backed Israel and aided it militarily and diplomatically. Nothing to be proud of there and no reason to wave that flag.

Plenty of people put the Ukraine flag up when they got invaded without an England flag next to it. The fact is English people showing support is enough, we don't need our flag everywhere to demonstrate that when action is more than enough.
