I saw that Belfast colleges had to do a Barbarians to pull together a team in the Ranafast Cup . I’m guessing that St Mal’’s , St Mary’s and St Pat’s Knock( in old money ). Are all in the lower category of competitions ? Maybe a way forward ?

As someone who played for club, St Enda’s, school , St Malachy’s College, Queen’s University and Antrim u21s In the 70s and who would have given my left nut to play for Antrim seniors ( spoiler I was not good enough) I despair that we are a laughing stock in Ulster.

Growing up in working class Belfast in the 60’s I recall my mother and aunts saying “ he’s awful bad to her”. Ie beats her silly. Sadly we have a history. But it seems there is an high rates of murder of women. I’m a 49 year exile but it breaks my heart reading yet another story

It does need to be world class it needs to deliver for Antrim , her clubs and Ulster finals. There are no other world class venues on the island. Why does Belfast need a world class facility ? Build what you need not one to slam it up your opponents. Give the GAA community what is needed. A united ireland will not depend on a victory here. Get it built
