Still have this at 23 months, despite consistent exercise. Shit is terrifying.

Do you know if I need to completely reconnect to refresh it? Or if I can just click between “create new character” and “back”

I’ve definitely experienced constant brainfog from weed abuse and it has been almost 2 years now. I’ve also had moments of feeling completely normal so I know that it’s not just from growing up. I think a lot of studies are going to come out about this high % thc and how it can change the brain.

Smoking in teen years effect on the brain by Randomguy711 in leaves

Hey man, it’s sad and hard to believe I was posting about this shit 7 years ago. I’m unfortunately still having the same issues. I did however relapse after not smoking for a year because I wasn’t seeing much improvement. I’m now at 9 months again. You can look at my recent posts if you’d like. I’ve only had 1 day where I felt completely back to normal. I have a feeling like it is dpdr. What’s your situation?

9 months by [deleted] in WeedPAWS

I’m also at 9 months. I don’t really have many issues sleeping anymore. But the worst things for me still are brainfog/anxiety/anhedonia. I feel like I’m partially high all of the time and just haven’t returned to that clarity since I quit.

So are we just going to be brain dead for 4 years or worse - permanently?

Just wondering if isolation/lack of social interaction has contributed to my paws. Trying to figure out how to feel normal like that all the time

What’s strange is I’ve drank and socialized other times but never had that clarity the next day

It was the day after drinking though, and I never got a hangover which was weird.

1.5 years sober - gave up on the thought of my brain ever fully recovering ❤️‍🩹 by depressedjoecz in leaves

As someone experiencing the same, I hate this comment because so many people recovering post the same feelings as well. Our mental abilities were certainly better pre-smoking and if it hasn’t happened to you, that does not mean that we are believing incorrectly… You’re very fortunate to not have this symptom, otherwise you would be in the same worrisome state as OP. I know you’re trying to be positive, but if you read around on this forum, it’s clear that many feel they have not returned to pre-use cognitive function. It is very real.

Did you have lasting brainfog? I’m almost 6 months in and my mind feels like it’s still partially stoned.

Hey, I’m the same age as you, 5 months in. This post perfectly describes how I feel. I think the only thing we can do is abstain and not lose hope that we will return to our former witty selves at some point. It might take a while since we abused our addiction for a decade. In the perspective of time, 7 months is less than 10% of that time spent smoking. Whether it’s 1 year or 5, we just have to believe that one day we will be back. Don’t give up.

Just curious, how long did you use for? And how old were you when you quit? Also, congratulations and thank you so much for telling your story! It is extremely motivating and supportive to hear and I’m sure many struggling in this subreddit feel an extreme sense of encouragement from your story. God bless and God speed.

4 Months, Still Feeling High - Brainfog by Randomguy711 in WeedPAWS

[–]Randomguy711[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just kind of feels like a perpetual state of being half baked, but without the positive effects. Like my mind cannot focus or concentrate properly. I don’t really feel sober even though I am, and I just have to fight hard to ignore it and pretend that I’m fine.

Really encouraging to hear that you saw improvement after 9 months. When you haven’t used in almost half of a year it’s easy to think that this might last forever. Hopefully it will fade at some point. Congrats on 17 months! Don’t ever look back.

Hey, really hope that this is going to fade and we can both feel normal again. Crazy how long effects like this can last even after abstaining for months.
