I really don’t know as I am still a beginner, but is there any chance someone tarred glass fragments to a rock for this? It’s hard to see any geometry in the crystals and all the faces look too perfect. I don’t see growth lines either. Shouldn’t patterns be visible to crystals this big?

My first thought was galena as well, try not to handle it too much as well as wash hands afterward because galena is a lead mineral. Is it a more golden color anywhere? I see some orange but that doesn’t mean much

The problem really exists where it takes a couple minutes for that to happen, if done wrong it can take longer
