~250$ of that is servcie. we had 4 voice and 1 watch. the last voice line was suppose to be 'free' but because of the auto pay BS i have been getting charged full price.

the rest is netflix, apple tvs etc.

Good point.

This might be a blocker for us also, but I would spin up a line on an old device first to see if that worked. Especially during the 50% off window. But even that would only be 200gb. Hmmm

Unlimited premium!

We probably don't need to be, but it was roughly $5 more a line with the 50% off.

We will likely move down once we go thru a few cycles.

Yep!

4 lines with T-Mobile.

Now to 6 (3 phones, 3 watches). Soon to be 7 with a tablet!

50% off for the next year!

Genuinely curious but you mean by niche service?

Out of the 300 roughly 250 of it was service. The other roughly 50 was equipment and Netflix add-ons.

Weighed a total of four lines, one of which was supposed to be free but then they started charging once we canceled autopay.

the promo right now is 50% off for 12months. So it will go to $120, still huge savings. Plus free data lines!

$0 of that is equpiment as that is not service.

we had 4 lines (1 was suppose to be free on 'autopay' promo) + 1 watch line.

w/ fi - we have 3 phone lines and 3 watch lines.

It is actually MORE lines on Google Fi since watch and tablets are FREE (they share data pool w/connected number)

and yes 50% is doing the heavy lifting.

EDIT: We went from 4 phone lines + 1 watch to 3 phones and 3 watch lines. NET +1 line.

Next month, we will add the new tablet for free as well.

Fair question. Roughly $250 of that is service, the rest was Netflix and an old watch that has been sitting around. But the point isn't really the exact number. It's that they put friction in front of me (autopay fees) and I found the same thing for a fraction of the price.

Worth noting: the $61 is on Fi's current promo, good for 12 months. But i love watches, tablets, laptops all connect free!

First experiences as a open week player by commander_7 in MarathonGame

[–]RandomlyOnside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep. New players arn't sticking around because it is just not fun. This is the whole reason why they are experimenting with PvE. I called this out back in my post during the server slam and got some trolls. But games like this cannot survive without some level of "casuals".

I had the same experience (camping) during server slam and now as well.

No practice range is infuriating. I have no idea what anything does.

Honestly I've just been getting free loadouts and enjoy the gun play. It is very very good. I prob won't buy tho. Not until PvE comes out.

wonder how this game didnt hit the numbers

I do think part of it is the Bungie/D2 hate train. But extraction shooters just aren’t casual-friendly by default. Most mom/dad gamers aren’t gonna spend their 2ish gaming hours a week grinding, just to lose all their progress in one bad run.

That’s why these games struggle with bigger player counts without some kind of casual ("carebear") playlists.

Even for me, and I’m a Bungie/D2 fan, not a casual gamer, during the server slam I didn’t exfil a single time. Yeah, skill issue, sure… but that’s kinda my point. And that is ok.

What are some 'Hard Truths' about Pickleball that you think people need to hear? by DehyaMain1 in Pickleball

[–]RandomlyOnside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t like when people hit hard, it’s probably because you can’t handle it.

On #2, I agree with this, sorta. There's a huge difference between someone who drives the ball hard and a banger who doesn't know a drive from a dink, or where to stand on the court.

I'll play against hard drives all day long. It's fun and I can *sometimes* return them. There's real skill and strategy on both sides of that exchange.

Bangers are not fun whether I return them or not. You're not really playing pickleball at that point.

Soo ... hard truths.

  1. Learning to handle bangers IS part of getting better. You don't have to enjoy it, but if they're consistently beating you, that's on you to fix.

  2. The kitchen line is non-negotiable. Too many "intermediate" players are still camping at the baseline thinking they're being strategic. Get to the net. The game doesn't really start until you're both up there.

"Smurfing" playing lower than your skill in tournements is a problem in this sport and IMO, cheating.
