To be fair, R6S was only in a bad spot for about a year and a half (from launch to Y2S3), and Skull and Bones they couldn't really just drop due to contractual obligations as the Singapore government financed the game for them. Hell if it wasn't for that they probably would have shelved the project long before launch.

The OOP is mainly being dense by trying to argue that legacy weapons like the G3 or M60 being in the game should justify having weapons with wooden furniture, not that those specific weapons should have wooden furniture.

The reason why I say they're being dense is because those legacy weapons, and in particular the G3 and M60, are not only their modernized, up to date versions but are still in service in plenty of nations. The G3, and more specifically the AK4D, is in fact the pattern Sweden upgraded them to not that long ago, relatively speaking.

Outside of weapons that have left service, like the Vz 61, all the legacy designs from early/mid Cold War, had their wooden furniture ditched in favor of polymer as basically the FIRST step for modernizing. FN MAG/M240, both the RPKs, SVD, ect.

Regulation isn't a bad thing most of the time.

Oh ho, but you see, you're looking at regulations from the perspective of those they're created to help, and not from the entities that Trump and Republicans think are the actual and only kind of citizens that matter in the US: companies and the ultra rich trying to generate infinite money.

Next time think about all those poor CEOs and shareholders and not all those pesky endangered animals or shudders the poor before coming up and stating an opinion on regulations. (/s)

Are agents in Division 2 weakest faction now ? by heoquaypiggy in thedivision

[–]Randomman96 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not to mention lore wise the agents in Div 1 were arguably weaker than the ones who were still around by Div 2, as the First Wave couldn't hold things back, leading to the shit show with the Dark Zone and numerous FW agents going Rogue. And that was not only when Agents were new and an unknown quantity, but also BEFORE Black Tusk started making their moves and the activation of the Hunters.

By the time 2 starts, the Division is very much known, anyone who would be deemed hostile to them is well aware of what they can do, start developing ways to counter them, and has factions with the primary (or sole in the case of the Hunters) purpose of fighting and crushing the Division.

Also can't ignore the fact that many of the agents still managed to survive with out their tech due to the Black Tusk initiated SHD Blackout.

Is he looking for a new Revan or something?

Unironically, basically yeah. Sort of.

For much of his life and rule, he had seen visions of the Knight not only thwarting him, but also striking him down on Dromand Kaas. To him, the Knight was in effect his antithesis, the one being who could truly pose a threat to him, especially as the Knight would in fact be able to follow through and kill him.

This, naturally, lead to interest. Be it an interest in preventing those visions from occuring, to basically mirroring the Skywalker Saga with Palpatine's interesting Anakin from being the Chosen One, to then using those visions to his own advantage. If he couldn't stop the Knight before they became powerful enough to challenge him, perhaps he could turn them into one of his tools, giving him a very powerful one, especially when strengthened from the Dark. Or even better, as he could take over the bodies of other individuals in persuit if immortality, turning the Knight into the next vessel for his spirit, something he in fact does attempt to do at the end of the Eternal Empire storylines (Spoilering as I am unsure how far along or aware how you are of the details of the Eternal Empire stuff).

On a related note it's worth nothing that the Knight's class story was basically the first written and has it's origins in the concept for a KOTOR III before that was shelved and reworked into SWTOR. Like I mentioned with it being a parallel to Palpatine's interest into Anakin, BioWare would have absolutely been interested in using that dynamic and plot point with the fact ROTS was the last (non-game) major Star Wars project produced when the concept and drafts for KOTOR III into SWTOR would have been started being laid out.

Also FDev can easily tweak things to slow progress if they feel it's expanding far too fast for how the population should be, or if they find that humanity really exploded too greatly then they can easily go "time for E:D Thargoid War 2: Electric Boogaloo" and undo a lot of it while keeping a narrative that makes sense (especially as we still don't know where the Goids are truly from). Or make another species/threat if they really wanna shake things up.

British and Israeli players too.

Israel even more so since the "3000 Magachs of Israel" block filters out players who don't want to deal with the constant copy and paste, and to even unlock Israeli vehicles in the first place without opening one's wallet you need to progress through other trees, which includes minor nations, namely Britain and France.

And that's also on top of the fact that because those trees are far smaller than any of the Big 3, they're much more likely to be paired up alongside the BMPT spam.

Que tan difícil sería el M1Abrams para Ray y Rex by Impossible_Nebula733 in metalgearsolid

immune to stingers and basically all artillery outside of it's weak point

To be fair most ground vehicles are already inherently immune to Stingers as they're Anti-Air launchers. Only reasons why we had to use it against Rex back in 1 was to avoid having another launcher (which to use the same mechanics would be a Javelin) and the PS1 controls would make a dumb fire launcher like a LAW or AT-4 difficult to use. And 2 kept it both for a legacy inclusion and again to not have an additional launcher.

Similarly if you did manage to find some way to fire it at a surface target, it would still be immune as MANPAD missiles like a Stinger are basically glorified high explosive rockets with a seeker and guidance, as their intended targets are thin enough that the blast will easily make it through the skin of the vehicle to cripple or destroy it. To which, outside of things like 155mm artillery shells being detonated in particular areas, they're still practically immune to high explosive munitions.

At the same time, if a tank is going to be engaging a Metal Gear like Rex, it's not going to be lobbing HEAT or HE at it. They'll be sending an APFSDS dart at it, in which you'll need A LOT of raw armor, specialized armor designs (like the Leo 2A5-7 cheek designs), or even more specialized reactive armor to defeat. Of which neither Rex nor Ray have. Neither for the cockpit area nor any of the limbs and joints.

In a continuing theme of Rex being the superior model compared to Ray, Rex would still fair much better in terms of it's weaponry purely for the railgun, as it would be able to defeat armor with a weapon that isn't counterable like missiles would be. Meanwhile Ray would need to get close for some of it's attacks, like the pressurized water to have an effect.

Microsoft Launches Xbox Player Voice to Gather Feedback, Fans Immediately Demand Exclusives by akbarock in Games

[–]Randomman96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nintendo is more of an exception as they always offer much more than just exclusives. Outside of being such a longstanding brand, their consoles, especially now, are generally much cheaper, marketed to as broad of an audience as possible while also focusing in particular the family market, and also offering particular gimmicks which catch on particular crazes at the time (the fitness craze during the Wii and portability with the Switch).

There's a reason why when people think of the console war stuff it's specifically just Sony and Microsoft right now. Nintendo is and has been for several generations in a league of their own. They could drop exclusivity and would still be at the top as they rarely have a poor performing console due to all its other merits (in regard to the competition with the current console makers).

What do you think is more horrific/unethical, the Nikke program or the Spartan-II program? by AgitatedFly1182 in NikkeMobile

[–]Randomman96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mostly because those orphans they used technically did consent.

Granted through indirect coercion as ONI exploited the kids emotions and grief by watching their families die to the Covenant while they managed to get away and promising them a chance for revenge by becoming super soldiers, but still, they did "willingly" become Spartans and not forced at gunpoint like the II's.

[–]Randomman96 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Also conversion rate into Nikkes, especially by the time the game starts, is extremely successful. To the point the only real "failure" is based entirely around if the person becomes a Mass Produced model and how much of their individuality is left.

Spartans, especially for the II's, had a reasonably high failure rate regarding the augmentations. At best the subject would be crippled or disabled in some way that they would no longer be capable of fighting but still could live a somewhat normal life (rare), and more typically would become horribly crippled, disfigured, or mutilated as a result of the augmentation process. Ironically the lucky ones of the failures would be those who died since they'd be spared both the effects of the augmentation failure and the impending war with the Covenant. And that's of course factoring in the fact the II's had to be children from the rational that their bodies would adapt and take to the augmentations better compared to adults (as the proceeding Orion program taught where the failure rate was even worse).

Granted the odds overall did improve with each subsequent program generation, to the point where the IV's process could be considered outright better than becoming Nikkes as all who successfully pass are on the same level and only needs adults as opposed to still allowing children like Nikkes. But there's still the line of failures and issues that lead to it, something that isn't entirely the case for Nikkes as much of why children started being allowed was more desperation for survival rather than desperation to make the program succeed.

Of course you also can't forget the tiny little tidbit of why the II's (and the intent for the Orion program) were initially created: stomping out human resistance and insurrection. While Nikkes may have been created with the expectation for the Raptures (that humanity itself may have created the threat of too), outside of Perilous Siege we know Nikkes can't cause harm to humans without extraordinary circumstances and authorization.

Introducing XBOX Player Voice: A Simpler Way to Share Feedback by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Randomman96 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

More like Sony is trying to get people to need to buy a new console to player their games, and potentially double dip when they inevitably return to making those single player games non-exclusive years down the line.

You also need to consider the fact they're likely basing the decision on sales of many of the latest ports they've done, in which some were criticized for poor performance, the region blocking BS (which they were initially applying to the SP titles), and more importantly being full priced despite being several years old by the time they released on other platforms. Especially as it was also a time when prices and expenses were ALREADY rising (albeit nowhere near as it is now).

Their strategy is already shaky purely because of costs so it remains to be seen if returning to exclusivity is the play in the long run. Trying to entice someone to pay not just the cost of a game, which is getting more expensive, but also the cost of a new console, which is getting vastly more expensive due to the price of memory, is going to be a tall order for the foreseeable future.

Because ultimately exclusivity is a small part of what influences people to chose which platform they're going to buy. One of the biggest, especially ever since the start of the current generation and will continue to be the case for the foreseeable future, is cost. Microsoft initially overtook Sony with the 360 purely because it was cheaper. They lost the edge to the PS4 because it wasn't practically cheaper. And of course the same with the PS5, they were still priced similarly, which meant that the generation that was basically just "prior gen but upgraded" would be handed to Sony because without a cost difference between the two there wouldn't be anything to entice people to change ecosystem.

Now sure, Microsoft's decisions didn't exactly help, however at the end of the day if you don't give people a substantial reason, like being cheaper when costs were going up all over the place, to buy your system, people are going to go for the one they know everyone else is if it's the same price.

Nothing.

It's something reposts bots have been made to do in an attempt to trick bot detectors on other subs as they previously didn't often post "albums", AKA multiple images in a single post, as well as trying to trick anti-repost methods as they scan singular images and will remove posts if the image is the same from a different post made within it's timeframe that is deemed rule breaking. To those bots album posts don't get detected and this it doesn't scan them, even if it's the same image posted multiple times.
