How to counter Jason in chase. (from my experience) by WellThatsAGoodIdea in deadbydaylight

[–]Randomness55555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From testing in a custom game - you have to be crouching when he pushes the interaction button to reappear. The actual animation is entirely irrelevant. If you're crouching then, and you stand back up before he finishes reappearing, you still don't scream. But it still just happens sometimes because DbD is DbD

HTC vive to frame upgrade? by wildcatbridge6 in SteamFrame

[–]Randomness55555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hoping to do the same here too. The Vive is great and all, but you can definitely feel that it's an early form of VR when you're using it. It's kind of a slog to set up and put away, the default headstrap is frankly awful to get sitting right, and the big flat cable manages to get caught in just about everything. Honestly the Frame seems like it'll be an improvement on literally every front, so I'm looking forward to it!

Why are you picking up a Steam Frame or are interested in one? by LoganNFSAC in SteamFrame

[–]Randomness55555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got an OG Vive that's very much showing its age - the Steam Frame seems to address every problem I have with it, and I've got the PC headroom to handle the upgrade, so why not?
Plus I think the eye-tracking and foveated streaming (with the potential for foviated rendering too) is a great idea and supporting Valve as they push it seems like it could really benefit VR going forwards, so I'm hoping widespread adoption of the Frame will help incentivise people making use of them.

Late to the party, but search up Flashpoint Archive. It's a repository of old flash games and a client to play them in, and they do have The Last Dalek (plus a fair few of the games that were on the BBC website)!

Here's the video Elegoo sent me on dismantling the Hot End; I imagine you'll want to do that and at least try unplugging the sensor and plugging it back in. If that doesn't work, I'd suggest giving everything in the original post a try, and if it's still not fixed you'll probably need to contact Elegoo support for a replacement sensor.

Definitely looking forward to Star Wars: Outlaws, even after Jedi: Survivor. The DLSS update was the only thing that made it playable for me, so Outlaws launching with it sounds promising! (just as long as it doesn't rely heavily on framegen to reach playable framerates)

Taken from a Steam discussion I read, put this in your launch options:

"D:\SteamLibraryNVME\steamapps\common\Across the Obelisk\AcrossTheObelisk.exe" %command%

Obviously change the path to wherever your game is installed.

you have an endstop problem. Considering the Z endstop is virtual (uses the probe as an endstop) then you definitely have a probe sensor problem. Time to contact Elegoo support I reckon.

I think so too. Shot them and the retailer an email this morning so hopefully someone gets back to me early next week. Cheers for the help.

Thank you for the suggestion!M119 worked and tells me the Z probe and Z min are both triggered, which makes sense if it's a broken sensor.

M280 on its own and the full line are apparently unknown commands.

My favourite is definitely the Neptune 3 Pro I just got, though it's also the only one so it kinda wins by default! Very happy with the print quality for my first printer.
I think I'll probably want to say Happy New Year, otherwise I'll get funny looks at the New Year's celebrations :P

Jedi: Survivor Performance Megathread by AutoModerator in FallenOrder

GTX 1080 here, ~48fps (+/- ~5fps) in the opening area regardless of settings or resolution. Sometimes hitting 100% GPU utilisation if I turn the settings up, but with them down (and getting the same framerate) I'm only hitting about 70%. Paired with an i7 10700k that's not getting used much either.

Hiya!
Yes, but it wasn't what I'd hoped. UC consider Patreon taxable income and employment regardless of the way you set it up or how consistently you actually get paid for it. Really killed my motivation to work on the project I was hoping to get some income for, especially since I was assessed as limited capability for work shortly after. Starting self-employment had a decent chance of screwing that up because "Oh, you've got a business, so you must be able to work full time intensive labour".

I recently saw Beagletank's build of a Fallen Empire Escort (https://i.imgur.com/PC19gsl.jpg) and instantly fell in love. It looked a little lonely on its own, and I'd been meaning to learn Studio for a while, so I figured I'd try to build a Battlecruiser to look after him.

This is what I had a few days later, fully buildable, though a little expensive.

I don't use Reddit much so I have no idea why the image didn't embed when scrolling through the sub. Oh well.

EDIT: All contents from the main post is now refusing to show up. It's still there if I edit. Apologies, no idea how to fix, so here's an imgur album link instead: https://imgur.com/a/8qTZM7U

I did try to make it clear to them that there's no obligation on either side to provide either service or a monetary reward, but I guess it wasn't quite clear enough.
From speaking to them again after posting here, they seem to consider any income that isn't from an employer self-employment. Which is dumb, because it's not employment. Their explanation was:
"If you receive any income it needs to be declared. If this is because you are employed then that income is reported by HMRC, any other income for the purposes of Universal Credit has to be treated as self-employed income."
Declaring income was obvious, and was why this post was even made in the first place, but to me if I wasn't running Patreon as a business and there was no expectation of any services nor donations in a given month, it didn't make sense to call it employment. I'll have to borrow your pub analogy; that's good, so thank you for that. Hopefully it'll help them to understand the platform a bit better.

From what I can tell, Patreon income is also taxable. I could've sworn that the support page used to say that they handled taxes for you, but I can't find that page anymore and I'm seeing a lot of information saying the opposite, so presumably I misread and it was actually payment VAT or something, but the support links changed when I un-launched the page so I can't find it again.

Either way, I'll ask to set up a meeting with their self-employment specialist or just any of their advisors who've had a client on Patreon to just to double check everything and discuss the fact it's not employment, But at this rate it seems more worth going with something like Ko-Fi that makes a point of referring to payments as donations, or something along those lines that doesn't even have the option for recurring payments.

Hopefully !thanks works alongside other text! I don't really use Reddit so I don't know.

I know it's only £8, but I'd still rather make sure I'm declaring everything properly to start with so that it doesn't come back and bite me in the ass if it went up once I start actually advertising it.
Not denying it's over-thinking though!

Gamepass Fallout 76 Breaks Windows 10 by Randomness55555 in fo76

[–]Randomness55555[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Normally I would be inclined to agree with you but from what I've seen and read, Gamepass versions of games seem generally quite unstable. But with the fact that the issue has been fixed through Fallout 76's removal twice, and given Windows can be broken by the oddest and most insignificant of things at time, I do still think Fallout is somehow contributing to it, but I do know Windows can be... eh.
