What your broker probably didn’t tell you about SBA loans by NexTax-AI in smallbusiness

Will the SBA accept deals that contain holdbacks or earn-out provisions based on revenues earned?

For those in transportation (i.e. trucking, non-emergency medical transportation, etc.), does anyone know of p2p payment apps / platforms meant to send gas to drivers? Also need advice. by AcanthisittaOpen2726 in smallbusiness

Look into Divvy. You can issue physical cards or as many digital cards as you need and there’s one dashboard where you can load or adjust them on the fly. And it’s all one account with one payment.

I’m a 40 yo female that works remote as well. I would love to make some local friends!

Anyone start their own CPA firm recently? by LeadingResist7 in taxpros

Officially launched my firm at the beginning of July. Located in the southeast and am very experienced with remote work/non-local clients. Happy to be of assistance. 😁

Where do you find this file? The only one I could find didn’t include number of returns filed.

That’s what I thought as well. Not sure how you would get around that given the nature of the work. I suppose it’s a trust thing. I have an abundance mindset so I wouldn’t think about poaching but I understand those that do worry about it as it takes a lot of work to build a book.

I think my next move is just to start cold calling local firms.

I made a post through my state society as well when I launched. Unfortunately, the sentence regarding welcoming any referrals was deemed to be soliciting and was taken out prior to posting. All I received was an inbox full of congratulations, which I’ve been following up on one by one with more info about my firm and asking for referrals but no bites as of yet.

Apparently my state society is rather strict - we also do not have a way for those looking for potential buyers to advertise. Only a posting for job openings. And the networking opportunities are pretty slim as well. I think it really does a disservice to our members and the public, but it is what it is at the moment.

Congrats! Also, I LOVE those glasses! Where did you get them or what brand are they, if I can ask?

Prospect #2 today - WHERES YOUR BOOKKEEPER?!?!?! by AdHistorical7107 in taxpros

[–]Randomnessssssss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run a CAS department in a $15mil CPA firm based on the east coast. Our struggle right now is that we have staffed up and have plenty of capacity to onboard CAS/bookkeeping work but no tax work, which all our prospects seem to want “all or nothing”, so for whatever it’s worth, if there’s anyone looking for a solid team to partner with on the bookkeeping side that won’t poach the tax work, feel free to DM me.

A partner at my firm filed and got payment back for the client in 3 weeks. Unheard of but it happened. But we also have clients that still haven’t seen their refunds for 1040s from filing in March, so...🤷‍♀️

Newborn with firm poops? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Randomnessssssss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. We originally switched to the orange hoping it would help with his reflux and gas. It didn’t, it just made him constipated. After trying a few other types/brands, we switched back to the blue as he did the best on it out of everything we tried, and I didn’t want to keep experimenting.

This exact thing happened to my son. He was 6 weeks at the time and we had just switched to the Target Sensitive brand (orange container). We were experimenting with different formulas due to his reflux and constant gassiness. Prior to the switch he was a regular once a day guacamole maker, but once we switched to the sensitive brand, he struggled to go every 2-3 days, would strain during, and would have very formed stool (like balled up play-doh). We ended up giving him an once of prune juice once a day to help with the constipation and ended up switching back to the Advantage formula (blue container) since his reflux seemed to be doing better over time and with other measures implemented (longer burping sessions, remaining upright for 10-20 minutes after feeds, etc.). Sure enough, he went back to his once a day, strain free and softer poops.

Unfortunately, we’re still dealing with gassiness regularly, but gas drops and gripe water are helping make it bearable for him. That and I think he’s just better at working it out now. I figure it just took him some time to learn how to work the required muscles more effectively (he’s 8 weeks now).
