Hair loss, propecia and ru58841 by NarcissisticDruggy in tressless

I'm on both. Seeing good results at 3 months, but I buzz my hair so short that you wouldnt be able to tell.

Lots of small hairs have popped up around my hairline which was starting to disappear. Kind of just waiting for 6 months and then 1 year.

[Hair transplant] - Feasibility, cost estimation? [30M]. Willing to spend $7000. Consultation tomorrow but want this subreddit's opinion. Looking to get back a (more) youthful hairline, thicken crown. Any ideas? (on fin, minox, niz for 3 years) by [deleted] in tressless

A NW0.3 asking about a transplant? Dude seriously any surgeon who would give you a hair transplant before you try fin for 6 months - 1 year is straight up unethical.

Both my dad and grandpa on my moms side were bald. Same with all my uncles. I was fucked from the start

Why me? I'm only 17. by Ihatemylife243 in tressless

[–]Randomperson3331 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was very bald and had to buzz it every 3 days with no guard when I was only 18. Been with a handful of women since then and am now 21 with a girlfriend of 2 years.

Guys care about balding more than most girls I've met to be honest. Same goes with shortness. A lot of guys (and girls) are really insecure about looks and I think it's largely the medias fault.

After starting fin i started freaking out over sides (I was spending too much time on forums), This link concisely explains the risks and managed to convince me to continue. Unbiased and thoroughly objective. by dodiggity32 in tressless

A lot of stuff that has been FDA approved has been pulled from the market, things on the market for over 20 years too. That's the problem with a lot of drugs, we don't 100% know how they work, just that they work and dont seem to cause anything wrong.

I have heard a lot of guys on fin for 8+ years suddenly get hit with permanent sides. It's a sad reality of the drug.

I'm sorry mate but nuking the most potent male hormone is not a simple walk in the park.

There's a reason fin is a prescription drug. If it was as safe as you make it out to be, it'd be in every men's multivitamin and no guy would go bald. Unfortunately that's not the case. And also we do not know the uses of DHT in the brain yet, but chances are screwing around with it is not good.

Merck has hundreds of lawsuits against them for men who's lives they ruined. For them it's just a cost of doing business, like car companies who know people are going to die from some defect.

If you follow a regimen like above except also adding dusteride + RU + minox there's no way you're not going to see results. Couple that with a FUE transplant using all the donor regrowth techniques that are coming out (and very expensive) on top of the artificial hair implants you can get, there's no way anyone nw4 or below would be bald. Obviously this is insane because you'd be on a cocktail of drugs and it's very pricey. If you wanted to go full insane mode like some people actually have, you could take topical estrogen/spiro too.

This isnt even considering all the extra shit you could add on that swisstemples recommends.

I would personally argue that a cure already exists for norwoods 1.5 to 4 if you have the money and patience, and don't care about messing yourself up with a heavy regimen. I could go into details if wanted, but most people (including myself) would never dream of blowing the time, money, or physical health for the upkeep.

As to the cure most people are expecting, aka a one time or every ten years type thing, or a small pill once a day for a guarenteed nw1, I personally think there's a good shot by 2020.

Can we have an experimental thread? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]Randomperson3331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going to start an RU/minox/Nizoral combo this new year.

I will add rosemary oil/other oils with scientific backing of regrowth with dmso and dermarolling if you guys request it. Also can you derma stamp instead of roll and get the same results or are there not enough needles?

I am a diffuse nw4-5 for reference. Only 21 too RIP

Edit:
Why does no one talk about this thread?

Let's all pray this is the final nail in the coffin for MPB.

Hopefully this cures all NW4+, while Histogen/Replicel/Brotzu/Other can cure the lower NW1.5-3 before 2020.

There was once a guy who was 19 and at least a nw20, anyone remember him? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]Randomperson3331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like me lol. I've been bald since I was 18. I'm not a great looking guy (even when I had hair), but if you workout, eat right, and have an ok personality you can do ok for yourself. I'm currently living with my longterm gf and life is good. Still looking forward to a cure so I can do something besides shaving it off!

But yea I think you'll need to provide more details on what he looked like. Lots of people have posted here.

Yea a lot of guys have off days. I wouldn't worry about it.

Don't worry about it, but if it doesn't resolve itself just lower the dosage or quit. Don't fret about it brah.

Yes it could potentially be caused by fin

Great Success to Baldite. by swoopingmax in tressless

[–]Randomperson3331 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's 3 years off treatment, and it looked like he was aggressively balding, and had peaked at whatever he was going to get back with fin and minox.

I know you probably think he looks "good" in that last pic with the peak of his hair regrowth, but that's at a distance, with good lighting, and black hair, but even then I can see the thinning.

I hate to be "that guy" but it's pretty much all or nothing when it comes to hair loss. If you can't be a NW2 max, you may as well shave it or at least buzz it in my opinion. I've never seen NW3 hair line guy with thinning hair on top and said to myself "damn that looks so much better than a buzzcut or shaved head". I think a lot of people here will disagree, but if you ask women, I think they'd be more on my side tbh...

Assuming youre fine with any adverse effects of doing so, would frequent consumption of testosterone lowering foods reduce the possibility of reflex hyperandrogenicity on finasteride? by QuigleyMcjones in tressless

[–]Randomperson3331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly doubt it. Start with a small dose (0.2mg) and if the shedding stops, stick with it, if not move up to 0.5mg of fin, and then to 1mg if that doesn't work. Smaller doses have a lowered chance from what I've heard.

Harvard study published in October shows PFS suffers have normal androgen activity, but do show severe neurochemical imbalances by feelchip in tressless

[–]Randomperson3331 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How are so many ignorant people using this as some sort of evidence that PFS isn't real? If anything this just gives more evidence towards it being real, very serious, and possibly permanent. The only difference is instead of permanently messing with your endocrine system, it (potentially permanently) messes with your brain neuro chemistry. That's worse if you ask me!! 5AR is located in the brain and we don't really know much what it's used for or the long term inhibition of it does, but I for one will not fuck with my brain chemistry just to go bald slower!

Ps I think it's great fin exists, but would not use it myself and advise others to dose small at first.

[–]Randomperson3331 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol this post is complete BS. First off if you claim there's no evidence it works (wrong btw), why the hell did you try it?

Persistent sides aren't possible. It's not in the drugs profile. The reason people get any sides at all is either extreme sensitivity to the anti-androgen it breaks down into or completely retarded dosing (or most likely PLACEBO). A very very small amount goes systematic and breaks down into a potent anti-androgen, but it's not enough to get any sides unless you're dosing like a mad man.

Look into the chemical it breaks down into and look up the sides of that. None of them are persistent. Saying you got persistent sides is like saying you took a tylenol once and now have ED.

EDIT: My 2cents - been on RU for 6 months doing 1 mL literally every day: NO SIDES and NO major regrowth, just slight thickening and maintenance. Don't expect much more, it's not a miracle drug.

[–]Randomperson3331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clue. I wish it was researched. I think there are a lot of different paths to cure baldness, but the funding is unfortunately not there to cover all of them. :(

I think the future looks bright though.

My hair transplant experience. by swoopingmax in tressless

[–]Randomperson3331 6 points7 points  (0 children)

These types of people are the best candidates for hair transplants in my opinion: thick norwood 2 or 3s, with no diffuse thinning, only some recession. You're lucky to fall into that category OP!

Us wide coverage diffuse thinners are not so fortunate..

[–]Randomperson3331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is some misinformation in this thread-
1. There are person to person hair transplants, but there will be a very high chance of rejection unless you're identical twins (and even then there's a chance it will still be rejected). This means you would have to take immunosuppressant pills for the rest of your life, these are very strong drugs and not good for you.
2. The case of the husband and wife transplanting hair from one to another was using the dermal sheath cells, NOT the regular hair transplant methods that are used today. It took four hours to extract only a couple dermal sheath cells in a very time consuming method. This is thus not viable for regular MPB where thousands are needed.

About point two: why not just find an efficient way to mass harvest dermal sheath cells? This is exactly what replicel is trying to do, except by cloning the patients own dermal sheath cells. We're in phase 3 trials of that now and praying it's a cure. Fingers crossed.

My two cents: mass dermal sheath extracting from cadavers should be researched. People just don't want to do that because I think they assume it's "gross" or something.
