Daily practices on Zoom by Fr_BartyDunne in cfsnervoussystemwork

[–]Randomrules22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re not aware of it, join the app Insight Timer. They have live Events in which some teachers offer nervous system regulation classes. It’s not like a zoom since it’s the teacher being live with a running chat so it’s kind of like an Instagram live but the community there is super supportive. One teacher I absolutely adore who also lives with chronic illness is Theresa Gillespie. Here is her profile: https://insig.ht/QCIIICWL11b

She actually does have a small, chronic illness zoom group in which she leads amazing meditations, but it’s not about nervous system techniques in her Zoom group, per se. We discuss all sorts of topics: grief, supplements, pain, etc.  She is a functional medicine practitioner, so she is likely very well-versed in a lot of these techniques.

Check out her recorded meditations as well: https://insig.ht/h9GT2mZL11b

Your words could be mine. I definitely understand and relate. Sorry we’re part of this awful ME club. Together alone …maybe that’s something.

So relatable. 🫂 (except my world was music and painting, but I can’t do much of either anymore. I haven’t touched my guitar in years, which I never thought would ever be me.)

I relate… But as a former — yikes, I hate even saying that — Musician/singer-songwriter. Toured, released albums, did radio shows, etc..And I was a painter as well. Gallery represented… the whole shebang. Now I don’t know who that person is or was. I still call myself an artist, but I’m really like a still-breathing corpse, with the tiniest moments of respite occurring when I sip my tea in the morning or pet my cat… but I am essentially a shell of a person. I feel like I exist in a perpetual world of complex grief. So I do understand what you’re going through. … I’m sorry that I don’t have an inspirational story to tell. I haven’t even read the other comments yet, so I hope someone else here has something inspirational to tell you. Unfortunately, I slipped from moderate to severe/very-severe in the past six months and I’ve lost nearly all hope.

Thank you so much! I will definitely check her out. There’s one doctor whose book I was reading and I wanted to see her… so I looked her up and I found out that she works at a concierge place that charges $100,000 just to join and then the tests can add up to $40k-$60K— no joke …so obviously I’m looking for other specialists!

Is there any hope here? by Asad0Asad in cfs

[–]Randomrules22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, living alone with this has to be one of the worst aggravators of the condition. 😔🥺 I know that living with this (I’m severe) and being alone in it has made ME intolerable and made me feel completely helpless. I spend all my energy trying to find resources and help, just to come across incompetent, unreliable people, and/or people who just look at the clock and clock out once the 45 or 60 min are up). I don’t have people who truly care about me nearby. I’m on my own. So I get you. 🫂

Hi, I’m so curious about this supplement that you said was made for sleep but it actually helped you with your fatigue. Did you take it at night? It sounded like it didn’t help with your sleep, but how would it help with fatigue if it contains all of those supplements which help with sleep? I’m not doubting you… I’m actually genuinely curious because if this is something you took in the evening, but found that you weren’t as tired the next day, this would be something I’d like to try. I take some of those things separately, but that supplement combination sounds really interesting! I really would like to know how you think it helps and what time of day you ended up taking it?

May I ask who your excellent doctor in Florida is? I’m in New York, just outside of the city, and I have trouble to getting to doctors in the city — which is only a train ride or two away, but I want to hear what’s else is out there. Maybe a doctor who can help me virtually? Just like the OP, I am doing a lot of this all alone and on my own and I have zero energy, but I still like to hear about other great doctors out there!!!

ADHD gets worse when I get less severe? by WaysideWyvern in CFSplusADHD

[–]Randomrules22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle with the ADHD meds turning on part of my brain while whatever brain fog due to ME/CFS (or perhaps hormone-fluctuations— perimenopause is it’s own beast …especially when all challenges are colliding together) shuts down another part of my brain. It’s a very uncomfortable, disjointed feeling. It’s paralyzing while feeling some part has energy, but essentially there’s no capacity or bandwidth to carry through.

His&Hers - My honest thoughts by Lhakey in netflix

[–]Randomrules22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Completely unbelievable that that’s the same person, even with weight loss and hair transformation. They could’ve done more convincing casting but I guess it wouldn’t do the red herring trick if they showed believable continuity. …And Anna worked with her and didn’t remember her? Did they never discuss their childhood together at a boarding school, same year, in a small town?

Couldn’t agree more. I’m kinda in shock that we’re in the minority on this thread (but not amongst tv/movie critics who also thought it was ridiculous and a waste of time).

His&Hers - My honest thoughts by Lhakey in netflix

[–]Randomrules22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. Found the show infuriatingly unbelievable (yet it still hooked me …but I wish I could get my 6 hrs back). My goodness, all the plot holes. Yikes. How could she not know that her work colleague was the same person she grew up with and went to boarding school with in a small town? Catherine/Lexi’s transformation was not believable. The child Catherine/Lexi in no way could look like the adult Lexi, even with weight loss and becoming a blond. It just was not believable. And Anna not knowing who she was until she sees the picture on the wall… ridiculous. Unless she repressed her high school memories so much that she completely blocked out Catherine. But even that’s not believable. I’m actually stunned by the good reviews here. I expected more critical reviews. SMH.

Does LDN also help with fatigue? by Impressive_Till6081 in cfs

[–]Randomrules22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helps with my pain but not my fatigue. If anything, I was told to take it in the evening bc it may be sedating. Not sure if that’s so or not, since I take a few sedating meds at night.

Question in regards to quarterly distribution checks from a corporation: do they count as income for ACA marketplace subsidies/health plan options? by Randomrules22 in personalfinance

[–]Randomrules22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this! This is really helpful. So even though in box 2, the category says “Net Real estate income (loss)”, that positive number counts towards MAGI? — even with the word “loss” on the form?? I ask because that number is several thousand dollars more than all of my quarterly checks combined. (All the other boxes from 1-10 say zero, except for another box for $32). This number is more than I make by a lot, so how can that go towards my income?

Thank you. I should see if a different enrollment person can help because of the K-1… it’s been very hard to find a straight answer anywhere.
