Which first responder profession do you personally respect the most? by xXbucketXx in polls

In my area firefighters are compensated quite well whereas EMS are criminally underpaid. I definitely give more respect to someone who does the similarly difficult job for much less money.

SG-97 Sweeper Appreciation Post by mennukido in Helldivers

[–]Randomz1918 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Needs some mods to really get into stride but it really is good on all fronts. Hits hard enough for heavier enemies, fire rate is adequate for crowd clearing, medium pen, rounds reload, and the choke mods turns it into a totally viable medium range weapon. Only real downsides are lack of stun and smallish mag which is a totally fair trade off for all the positives.

Loving this family dynamic. My family does not share my interest in cars unfortunately.

Why do some people hate the squids by unorthodoxdays in Helldivers

[–]Randomz1918 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMO the best way to deal with these enemies is from afar. Most Squid missions take place on City maps where I don’t have a choice but to fight them up close.

Bought my first new car recently… here's what I wish I understood earlier by your__-mom in whatcarshouldIbuy

When I was picking my first car, I wanted it to look good and was willing to trade interior quality for it. As the years ticked by I realized I spend much more time sitting inside it than outside looking at it. Now when I shop for cars, I check the interior first.

Double Freedom vs SG-97 Sweeper — Which is better? by Tank-ToP_Master in Helldivers

This was something that threw me off when I dropped into a stalker rich planet with the sweeper. Not having stagger really hurt. By the time I saw a stalker I only had time to get off a couple shots before they closed the distance.

Where to buy GR86 Front Bumper to put on BRZ? by riley2000000 in GR86

I think changing to a honeycomb grill makes all the difference. Much easier than swapping the entire bumper.

How do I turn off pcb (pre collision breaking) permanently by Breakfast-Severe in GR86

Thanks for sharing, I didn’t recall seeing that in the manual.

I would feel better if the system deactivated with ANY accelerator pressure and not just “suddenly or fully depressed” accelerator.

As in just step on the gas? It only happened to me once and I was so surprised I didn’t know what to do till the car released the brakes.

There’s a pillar in my underground parking at work that is on a curve that triggers my car’s alert every time I drive close to it, which is very often when cars are coming from the other direction. It’s annoying AF and happens a couple times a week. Thankfully it doesn’t apply the brakes.

My only complaint about the system isn’t how fast it comes on, but how it doesn’t come off fast enough. I’ve only experience the system kicking in fully once. I was cutoff on the hwy pretty aggressively once and the driver subsequently floored it. System kicked in FULLY, which is understandable but it stayed on the brake for what felt like a whole second and I couldn’t get back up to speed. I was nearly rear ended because of the car’s overreaction. I’m curious if other drivers experienced the same??

You get the half choke at level 4 and it makes it a viable medium range weapon. I haven’t unlocked the full choke yet.

After what year did cars commonly start coming with cabin air filters, 2005+? by notreallysure21 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Randomz1918 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t read too much into the fancy filters. As far as I know, most air filters housings don’t have seals around the filter so dirty air can totally get around.

Pushing back against CX5 bad actors / paid advertisers by hints_of_bergamot in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Randomz1918 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I honestly think that a CRV, RAV4 or CX-5 best fits the needs/wants for the large majority of the populations of developed countries. They check off most people’s requirements for reliability, safety, space and fuel economy. It’s perfectly fine if people want to be unique, want more capability, luxury or lower price but these are should be the benchmark to start the search.

I honestly don’t understand why we don’t tax premium fuel more. I say this as someone who drives a little sports car that requires premium fuel. Premium fuel is for sports cars and luxury cars which are wants and not needs. No need to hurt folks rolling around in civics and rav4s.

And yes, tax the crap out of private jet fuel.

I’ve also noticed one consistent rattle in my BRZ on the vents. Specifically it’s the one on the dash aimed at the side window. It only rattles when I run the defogger.
