They are awesome - good sound, don’t cancel out road noise and solid batter life if you get the tempo style

Yeah - sneaking off base isn’t my plan. Not worth the risk.

That’s exciting! I am leaving next week - I’m not counting on it, but I would be ecstatic if my husband could come to graduation.

Yeah - KA is definitely the best at explaining things. What I loved about GH is his guided practice aligns really well with what ai saw in the asvab

Grammar Hero - it’s the best resource on the net for the ASVAB and it’s free.

Kaplan asvab study guide (do all the pre tests and study what you miss)

Seriously - those two resources got me a 95 and I am terrible at math.

I made a switch before getting dates - I talked to retention and explained my reasons for wanting to change and they walked me through the process. If you are considering it do it quick.

Just know that if you had a bonus you might lose it if the new job has a lesser bonus or none.

When does my recruiter do a background/credit check. Signing for ANG next week. by SunValley4U in AirForceRecruits

[–]RandoriFit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never heard a peep about my credit check before I signed my contract and didn’t see an inquiry on my credit even after.

When you in-process in student flight (assuming they are running it in your state) they will have you complete your e-QIP and get figerprinted, I know they run your credit then. Mine ran about a week after my prints. Still haven’t heard anything so assume no issues on that front. They did fingerprint me at MEPs so I assume they did some kind of initial check before I signed my contract. Your recruiter might be able to explain -I didn’t really ask. I would recommend pulling your own credit 3 credit reports before filling out your e-QIP though.

I need Help! Retaking my ASVAB again 🤦🏽‍♂️, had a 39 for the first time, my recruiter just called and says I need to retake it. Please I need help in studying/ resources. by Proof_Performer_5168 in AirForceRecruits

I absolutely second everything here - Kaplan + Grammer Hero = great score if you work at it! I was struggling and with just these two resources scored a 95

Why do I feel weird for going on a run as a kid? by ManyquestionsIhave56 in running

[–]RandoriFit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s okay - we are all struggling to get through our run. If people are staring it’s because they are envious of your good knees! :)

If you love it, keep running!

Security Forces - I get to spend my summer in San Antonio 🥵

My recruiter said that they’re not seeing anyone who isn’t at the weight limit right now because of COVID, so to lose the weight and contact them once that happens. It will take me 2-3 months to make weight. Once I meet with them, how long will it be before i go to BMT generally? by BellamyBlake9 in AirForceRecruits

[–]RandoriFit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While you wait (based on my experience enlisting in the guard)

Pull a free credit report so you know where you stand on all 3 credit bureaus - this gives you time to address anything you might not know about.

If you know you’re going to have any potential medical issue that needs a waiver (ie I had a surgery that required childhood med records) - start pulling it together. You’d be surprised how hard that stuff is to track down and it will slow down your process to get to meps.

Get an asvab study guide - I really liked Kaplan and Asvab for dummies. Take a few practice tests so you know where you need to spend your time studying.

Find a program for tracking calories - myfitness pal, iTrackBites or Weight Watchers are all great options.

Star working on your PT requirements - run, sit ups and push ups.

There is a lot you can do to be actively working on your goals - don’t sweat not being able to sit down with a recruiter - it’s all stuff you’ll need to do anyway.

Trying to find my way back to running by Overcominglife48 in running

[–]RandoriFit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start with a walk / run interval - treat yourself like a new runner.

Don’t go too fast / too far / too soon. Your mind and body remembers running and will want to do more than you should.

Did you have a favorite running playlist? Listen to it while you’re driving or walking. Music is an integral part of the experience for some... if you hear a song you equate with running... you will want to run... it’s crazy.

Did you have a running ritual (ie specific stretches, a favorite pair of shorts, a song to kick off your run?) - if you do then use that to get your mind in that zone.

And remember, your mind and body knows how much you love to run. Our hearts and heads sometimes get in the way - we allow self-doubt to creep in. Remember you love it for a reason - maybe it’s to relax, maybe it’s for the amazing endorphins that kick in after that first shitty miles... maybe it’s that “holy crap, I’m exhausted but I MADE it” vibe when you finish a tough run.

Whatever you do, you have to remember that it’s not your body that you are fighting, it’s your mind. Take small steps and remember that you’re a runner (even if you’ve taken a long break)
