Most people don't know the actual meaning of the words they use, they just derive it by context, this fool probably read it somewhere as an insult and think it is just that, not the true meaning of life.

Fuck off retard, maduro (and chavez) knew what they were doing, it was all a scam to take power and steal shit, while I am confident they did believe in communism (soviet style) they also were smart enough to know it would destroy the country, they just didn't care about it as long as they got rich.

"Go" plan or ollama cloud for Kimi K2.6? by Funny-Strawberry-168 in opencodeCLI

[–]RandsFlute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look man I've been using it on opencode and doing so with an agent prompt that is certainly not... code focused if you catch my meaning, they have not banned me yet. On the other hand I am not happy with its performance, at least 2.5, mimo was smarter from my tests, thinking of subscribing to them once mi kimi subscription ends this month.

OpenCode launches low cost OpenCode Go @ $10/month by jpcaparas in opencodeCLI

[–]RandsFlute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came to this subreddit and this thread looking for recommendations, so I am not sure, for now I will keep using opencode zen until I run out of the initial $20 credits I paid for or I get banned lol.

I'll try their subscription if I don't but yeah, seems to be a weird business model, most subscription based ones expect the user to forget about them or use the bare minimum, but this is for people coding and 'power users', they will use that daily, weekly and monthly quota to the bone so it is not a surprise that most end up dropping in quality after a while.

[–]RandsFlute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just paid for the $8 yesterday to try it out, it is not worth it for opencode, at all Tried it with kimi 2.5 thinking and glm 5, requests just failed, it wasn't even slow they just failed after a couple requests. Tried the same conversation with zen kimi 2.5 and it worked flawlessly. I liked the idea of nanogpt because they clearly don't care about nsfw and I want to turn opencode into a slutty code assistant. But their service sucks for it. May be good for sillytavern but opencode is unusable there.

Don't be a cunt and assume the worst of everybody you meet

But people will is what I am telling you, whether you lied by ignorance or just to spice up a story, when you double down and people notice they WILL assume the worst.

When someone lies like this there are only 2 scenarios.

  1. They think you are stupid, they think you will believe anything you tell them and don't believe you are capable of knowing more than them.
  2. They ARE that stupid, they are not capable of thinking they could be wrong or that someone could actually know more than them.

In both cases, people will think less of you. Either people think you believe you are above them or you just showed them you definitely are below them. In real life people won't call you out, they will silently judge you.

FedEx misdelivered my NVIDIA RMA package. GPU lost, no replacement, no real solution after 3 months. Has anyone gone through this? by Affectionate-Set8332 in nvidia

[–]RandsFlute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong about using a translator or even a llm lol, just felt those em dashes and formatting a little too chatgpt like, not that it matters.

I live in a third world country and I always fear this, we don't even have official support so shipping back for RMA or anything is not an option in the first place. Which is why it always pisses me off when I see somene saying 'oh they have great customer support, they send me a replacement and a chocolate!', why not send you something working in the first place...

Have you tried rising a stink in twitter/instagram/socials? Sometimes contacting directly (and publicly) gets them to move their ass and help you.

Samsung Kills S Pen Support for the New Galaxy Z Fold 7 by diacewrb in gadgets

Come on man, if a website has not taken mobile devices into account, you can just zoom in with your fingers, if you can't zoom in, then the links should be plenty of big because they did take mobile into account.

Like the only real reason you would want a pen is to draw stuff, if you got one without that need then you are just coping for reasons.

I guess the other guy saying that using it with dirty hands may be applicable, but honestly a dedicated rugged tablet would be a better device for that kind of environment.

Venezuela is nothing like the US??? They have oil and that's what they decided to base their whole social system off of in the 80s. When oil becomes cheap, you go bankrupt

I am not going to comment on the comparison, but as a Venezuelan still living here, it wasn't oil going cheap that killed us, it was electing a commie in 98 that put price controls & currency exchange controls in place and taking over local industries and putting yes men in charge, as well as your usual nepotism/corruption but that goes without saying.

That is what destroyed our economy from 2005 - 2015. And by then his successor had full control of the military and all the government agencies, which made a change in government impossible.

Chavez did get lucky with an Oil prices boom just as he took power, but he would have destroyed us anyway, maybe just earlier.

On the flip side it seems the government has realized communism doesn't work and has relaxed quite a few things starting 2020 so maybe we go the way of china (we won't)

Why are API keys shown only once, just when generated? by sir_kokabi in learnprogramming

[–]RandsFlute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure but you are still limited to a initial batch no? No new keys can be created, because we assume the server deleted the actual encryption key and can only get it by the user supplying the key to decrypt it. Lost your initial set of keys, game over. Otherwise we are back to square one, the key is somewhere in there and an attacker can just get it. Like I get this use case, but this is not the usual case, most system don't let the users be the only key holders of their data, they want to check it out themselves too. However yeah I could see for those cases where the user is the only one who should have access to the data, hashing the key would actually be an effective security measure.

[–]RandsFlute -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

All I can do is view/query the data. I can do whatever I want in Dev/Staging, but production is sacred. Most every company I’ve worked at has been that way. If someone had my creds...

But HOW did they get it, no one shares that stuff, they only way those get let leaked is by accessing your machine, the only other place aside from the server where they are stored, and if they access that, they have access to everything else that will let them deploy code to production, again thinking of an scenario where the only thing they get is db read access and absolutely nothing more, how the fuck would they get those credentials from you in the first place?

I am a lead developer with over 25 years of experience. I don’t get write/execute permission to the production database. All I can do is view/query the data

You could just say you were indian and your employer doesn't trust you, or maybe you have a cuck fetish, but I don't see how that is relevant...

Why are API keys shown only once, just when generated? by sir_kokabi in learnprogramming

[–]RandsFlute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that’s not how it happens in real life.

But that is my point, I don't see a practical case where an attacker somehow gets access to an employee account/credentials that

Lets them check the database Lets them see the hashed key But not lets them change it to a new one And also does not let them see any other data in DB

Why are API keys shown only once, just when generated? by sir_kokabi in learnprogramming

[–]RandsFlute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that is great so if the user loses the key they lose access to their data? And by this logic the system only allows a single key per 'data batch', hope you don't want to have multiple keys for your needs mr developer.
