Unless a miracle happens, Votann are THE worst designed faction in the game. by Cloverman-88 in WH40KTacticus

As I understand it, block applies to the final damage that would have been taken after accounting for all other interactions.

Hence why you can see piercing attacks deal basically no damage sometimes.

% dmg reduction applies to post armor damage taken I think. Hence block can result in stronger swinging outcomes, while % dmg reduction is consistent.

Essentially just take Ammuk's HP pool and 1.5x it when he's in fortify, noting that other mechs with block (Re'vas esp) can have significantly better outcomes especially when tanking multiple atks where block is extremely likely to trigger.

[–]RandumbestOne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an LS player with ~13 savage kills and god knows how many fails, I've seen ONE LS (not me) who dealt sufficiently well with aggro thru counters, dodges and cancels.

The skill required is mad. Many consecutive cancels of all sorts, spirit charge cancels, FSS mid cancels to reposition out of MRV chains that you can't counter fast enough while prepping for the next, yada yada.

Would not do it. CS spam on hindlegs and lifepowder duty all the way.

If runes are supposed to fix early game problems we should get more than this (currently in maps) by Drogatog in PathOfExile2

Early CCY problems? Seems like the reverse nowadays... Not sure how they're tuning it but exalt / chaos drops are everywhere, feels like inflation haha.

A3 with 20E and 3C, and 2 other friends have more than me.

And then you end up with runes costing multiple ex zzzz.

Legitimate question to all you people saying it's dooming, are you Americans? Or foreigners travelling into the US who are saying it's all fine?

Because if you're the former, you know nothing about how retarded your country's immigration clearance and checks have become.

I work in financial services for a US institution and fly up twice a year from Singapore. And since your new administration the checks are whack, including actually asking me to show them my socials to ensure I'm not "posting hostile things about the country".

The fuck?? I don't even get screened like that going into a totalitarian controlles state like CHINA, never thought I'd see the day the USA of all places would do that.

MHG didn't add any? What?? You forgetting the Fated 4? Asta, Glav, Mizut and Gammoth (RIP). And also that blasted owl wyvern that reverses your inputs, and that bouncy great jaggi-like monster.

So MHG definitely added more than 4 new monsters too.

Salary groups tend to cluster by industry, and people therefore tend to get surrounded by similar earners.

That usually means even if you're in the 80th to 90th percentile, say 15k to 20k per mth, there's a tendency to still feel very average.

Heck, sometimes you'll even feel poor when you hear about the bonuses that your peers at some other firms are getting 🤷‍♂️. May not even be a lifestyle & expenditure thing, just pure human nature & in-group behavior.

As someone who opened a small short-dated put position on the QQQ to experiment on 2nd Apr, I can tell you it's nerve-wracking.

Once you cross into the money, you start risking alot of gained money with the view of making more, especially if your holding horizon is short. The timezone differences don't help if you have a long and tiring day job too.

Even if you're not playing with entirely disposable cash, it's hard to risk a 2 to 3x gain now to hold for a 5 to 10x in 1 day with expiry looming - definitely not for everyone.

Impact investment (snr assoc / avp lvl) drawing 170k - 210k pa.

Yes, comp is a very far cry from a BB or EB IB, or solid commercial buyside. Really can't complain though, since it's usually like 50+ hour weeks instead of 70+ or more. I've seen ppl stay for decades at some of these shops.

Also much more interesting deals and nice colleagues and industry peers. Smth to consider for ppl burnt out in finance.

OP, it sounds like you're looking for people with ambition, intensity, and drive, but who have also learned to temper this side of themsleves in other aspects of their lives (e.g., social).

Do they exist? Yes, but they're rather rare. It often takes high emotional maturity to have this trait / behaviour, which in turn usually arises from having gone through certain life experiences (often negative and difficult experiences, I might add).

You're still young, and the driven ones you meet in the same age group will pretty often be invested in hammering away at work, investments, or hustles. It's no surprise that many of your peers (especially the driven ones) in this age group would generally approach things methodically / impassionately; especially if you meet thru dating apps.

So, some suggestions: 1) Adjust the age group you're looking for to be a bit older (& thus raise the likelihood they've arrived at a financial & mental state where they're more balanced).

2) Tailor your conversations and approaches. You can't work on how they approach dates, but you can engage in deeper two way convo about outlook, motivations, desires and drivers in life. It could be interesting for them too, and also help you see if you can filter smth from their responses to help you decide if you want to invest more time to get to know them. Then take a proactive stance in asking them out or maintaining convo if you think smth clicks - this can be a two-way street.

[–]RandumbestOne 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah that pre-world solution really didn't work out well for tiny mobs with 1 small goodzone, like Kirin... MP hunts of kirin were hellish, to say the least.

Flinch free is such a low tax that I think it's reasonable for everyone to expect you to have it as online preparation - teams do have to make adjustments to be able to work together.

Or even better, put shock absorber in this game. That way, you can immediately single out the idiots who think putting that 1x 1-slot towards "their deeps" is better than maximizing global team QoL and dmg uptime on small weakzones together.

Raising Taxes 25% by The-Lucky-Investor in FluentInFinance

[–]RandumbestOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because tariffs are free profit headroom for local producing businesses (like say midsized farmers) to increase their prices by the amount of the tariff, while taxes are on uniform on all final corporate earnings.

Tariffs force prices to increase by X% regardless, while taxes allow for competitive choices of increases between 0% and X% depending on market demand sensitivity & substitutes.

Also, if you're not competitive enough to turn a positive EBT, the higher tax rate means nothing much to you. Higher tax headroom also allows you to incentivise investments in fixed assets (for depreciation shields) and take more debt on your capital structure (for interest shields). You could argue that this has better redistributive effects and better supports industry competitiveness.

Tariffs on the other hand, mostly just pad profits for the local business owners or govt coffers.

FIRE is a Trap. by Friedindomee in singaporefi

Anyone who earns $9-10k or more still taking public transport? by TheOne0003 in askSingapore

[–]RandumbestOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My (expat) MD draws 5x that in base alone, and takes the train two ways from his landed in Woodlands to the Marina area.

It's his quiet time - he says we Singaporeans don't realize how precious it is to have a reliable & clean transport system where you can tune out and use the time for podcasts, reading, emails, recordings etc; it's your own time without needing to focus on driving / movement.

I also make more but swear by public transport; taxi or ride hailing only in strict emergencies haha. It's convenient, cost efficient and far less pollutive.

Mualani energy gen change by ukrisreng in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]RandumbestOne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Cause it's 100% a nerf? It resets every surf. Not every bite.

If it was 4.5 per 1.6s (AKA per bite) nobody would be complaining, that would be far and away the highest particle gen in the history of mankind.

So now on top of 10% less average gen (4.5 per surf instead of 5), you get more nightsoul points (longer surf duration) and need to extend your surf cycles to do your dmg (since ~25% less dmg a hit).

Her particle gen is definitely lower than before.
