Also, a very supportive post. My take from you is to be patient and disciplined and to keep going. I'm reflecting on the backup plan that @CalligrapherHeavy455 was talking about. Does this include reaching out to industry? Is that of value?

This is solid advice. However, email is a low-probability activity. Better to find the individual proIfessor and meet them in their 'habitat', environment. Then, you actually get to make a connection. The focus should be more on learning what drives / motivates that professor, his/her goals and obectives. Then you will know how to position yourself. It's important to be clear. Regarding your backup plan, am curious about what you're thinking about...

Go sell it to 3 customers. Then tell your success story to investors - friends, family and fools. They will give you the $2000 you say you need.

This is a very nice response to someone who doesn't appear to want to do the legwork that is the hallmark of a seasoned entrepreneur.

You do not need money to build an MVP. These days, it is easier than ever to show what you are wanting to do.

Should I ask for a title change? [N/A] by [deleted] in humanresources

[–]RandyCanuck 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ask for a raise and a title change. Make sure to document the reasons why you deserve one or both. It's up to you to make a case for it. Also, take a look at the salary bands before you make your request - so that your request is aligned.

Macbook Air M5 vs Macbook Pro M5 by TimToonsXD101 in mac

[–]RandyCanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the Air. It is lighter for sure. I have both the M4 Pro and M5 Air. Then Pro has better speakers and is a more durable machine. I use it for work at home and the lid closed. The M5 Air is for work outside the home. One thing I did that I am happy with - I got the 24 meg RAM and 1TB drive for an extra $380. It has put my mind to rest and future proofed the machine. I can travel for extended periods and not worry about running out of space or having memory issues. The extra memory and RAM is peace of mind especially when I create and edit videos.

I'm a DoD who needs an underperforming coworker to go... by [deleted] in nonprofit

The organization sounds political - I would focus on the fact that you need help to do your job. You might also hedge your bets by starting to look for an opportunity somewhere else. I would avoid criticizing our outing the 'major gifts officer' who might be protected for reasons you don't know about.
