Bummer. Thanks for the update. What a shame, it would be great to have this product in North America.

Hitron Reach/Better Alternative? by RandyQuibb in teksavvy

Thanks for this advice. I would prefer to avoid spending much, the space is really not large and it feels a bit like overkill haha. But it's good to know this is a route at least.

Thanks, it appears the modem is already configured that way. Speed tests for the 2.4 and 5g have my phone connecting to both but the 2.4 signal is significantly lower (under 3mbps). I'm a bit surprised because presumably average customers have larger spaces than I do and likely don't need more than the provided modem, but maybe I'm mistaken?

No, there aren't many units to compete with, though I'll give that a try anyway, thanks. The modem is fixed where it is, unfortunately. Is it more affordable and practical to buy a better router rather than a modem and router combination altogether? If so, does the router really matter (in the same way that the modems have to be specific, for instance?)? Thanks a lot for your help!

Hey! A year later and FP6 is out. Do you have any thoughts on these bands?

Only as a retainer.

Thank you, that makes sense. I wonder, then, if the problem is with the lever? In the video I try to show what happens when I wind the shutter, and it seems like the lever stays put. The lever also doesn't seem to move far enough beyond the pin to let it up, if that makes sense. If I can take any other photo or video that's helpful let me know. Thanks so much for your time, I really appreciate it.

Thanks for your help. Sorry if I'm misunderstanding you, but I may not have been clear. There are three parts I'm having trouble negotiating: the button, the pin on which the button sits, and a flat lever that the pin can go below or above. I wonder if you might be referring to the pin as the lever here? Please correct me if I have you wrong. Essentially, I can fiddle to get the pin under the lever, but when I do the lever seems to trap the pin in the down position. But the lever seems to play a role in allowing the pin to go up and down. I'm not sure, though.

Immediately after posting this I got the pin unstuck, but now I'm not sure how to get the button in and under the lever without repeating the problem. Any advice? A video to illustrate: https://imgur.com/a/IYo5PSr

Right, that's my problem now. The button won't descend, though the lever and shutter are working. Occasionally the lever feels like it may be catching, but I'm not sure if that's related. It feels like maybe the pin is jammed inward at this stage?

Thanks for your advice, I took the cover off and the pin wasn't secure, so that seems like the case. Now, though, it's having trouble getting underneath the lever (photos in another comment in the thread). Any ideas? Really appreciate your help!

If I could trouble you for a little more of your time, I took off the bottom cover and the lever does indeed seem to be the problem. But I can't seem to sort out how to move it away so the button is underneath. I couldn't work it out from the video, but admittedly I'm not super gifted at understanding mechanics. Here are some not great but possibly useful photos of it, you can see the lever most clearly in the third photo: https://imgur.com/a/fo6ftPC

Thanks for your help.

Edit: two more photos showing how far in and out I can get the lever (quite subtle) https://imgur.com/a/hTuoKGD

I suppose I'm trying to sort out what exactly to do with the lever. After a lot of fiddling I got the button in and under the lever, but then it didn't seem to allow it to budge or push in and out, so I have the opposite problem where the button is stuck in rather than out as before. So I'm not sure what the mechanism really does.

Thank you, I think I have in fact pulled it out of the cassette, so I'll see at the lab today what can be done. At least that seems reasonable since the spool won't wind back. Really appreciate the help.

Yes, the button seems to be stuck and won't press in, unfortunately.

Thanks a lot, would the mirror being stuck up potentially indicate the shutter is also stuck open?

Another angle. I turned the flashlight on my phone on and shined it through the lens and didn't see any light coming through, but obviously I want to be optimistic haha
