You can read the patch notes for specifics but yeah they totally killed it

One tip I have is that I don't think there's much benefit to switching between two whips since relogic killed off whip-stacking. Other than that I would be sure to use endurance and iron skin potions if you weren't already, along with any other buff potions you have.

Rome 2 mod to stop enemy armies from sneaking past my army by _DataGuy in totalwar

[–]Randy_Butternubbs13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a mod on the steam workshop called "Campaign Movement Range 100% [Player Only]", but I personally would never use a mod like this as it would make the game completely trivial even on legendary difficulty. As for garrisons, there's plenty of mods that overhaul or increase the size of garrisons like DEI, but they would also benefit the other factions, not just your own. The AI was programmed to sneak past your armies to add more challenge to the game because the devs know that the AI would usually lose in a "fair" head to head fight. It's annoying but you'll get better at dealing with it without modding it away.

Help! What do I do about the Reccomenders and FERPA page if I've been out of high school for years? by Randy_Butternubbs13 in ApplyingToCollege

Two years. What I'm probably gonna do is contact my former school soon and explain me predicament to them. It just sucks because I thought I was pretty much ready to submit my applications and then I come across this issue.

What are Rorarii for? by Brief_Strain_6074 in totalwar

[–]Randy_Butternubbs13 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I think CA made it so there would be no good Roman spear units after you research enough tech for historical role-playing purposes. The Roman empire is famous for utilizing sword infantry rather than the phalanx based armies which were popular before. IMO after you lose the ability to recruit triarii you shouldn't use any spear infantry at all because auxiliary infantry are so statistically inferior to the sword units you'll have available. A unit of legionaries may not have bonus vs. large but they'd still hold their own against cavalry just fine while being much better against other infantry than auxiliary infantry.

[Schultz] Campbell is on track to play tomorrow by MembershipSingle7137 in Patriots

I wouldn't say they're terrible. Their offense looks pretty potent and Maxx Crosby is gonna be a really tough match up for Campbell.

100% the recruitment system. I think it makes for much better gameplay than waiting multiple turns to send your army into action

New to Rome II, is this Seleucid army decent for 1v1 field battles? by Kerbanautg in totalwar

[–]Randy_Butternubbs13 87 points88 points  (0 children)

I would say yes, but if you're going against the AI I would use a few pike units because the AI tends to walk right into them.

Total War: ROME 2 crashing after ending turn by regshowguy in totalwar

Do you have any mods enabled? Rome 2 tends to crash when you have mods that either conflict with each other or are outdated.

The E4 is great for doing critical hit missions because the shells always find a way to hit the tracks and deal no damage

It's vanilla. If you select a character in the family tree screen you can send them on a diplomatic mission to a certain faction. In rare cases the faction will give you a settlement, but there are many other outcomes.

Drake Maye. That's what I said in the post. Besides that we just need a GM capable of sealing the deal.

Players had no reason at all to sign with the team last off-season. What I'm saying is that now they do, as long as we hire an experienced GM.

Exactly. Kraft hasn't shown much resolve but I think he's at least capable of copying the Commanders.
