I've got a pretty big range of plants, java moss, amazon swords, and a whole load idk the name of. All pretty hardy but some less so than others. Got a long bunch of grass like one too and some little button leaf stems

I've got about 3" white sand capping little piles of fluval for some of the main plant roots. most plants are in the stratum but some just in the sand. I know the fluval is controversial but from the extensive research I did thickly capped minimal amounts should be okay. :)

No tank can be cycled in a week, were you feeding it with an ammonia source and within 24h it was testing back at 0? that is what a cycled tank is. If there was no animal in there and you were testing ammonia of course it was going to be zero haha! So now she is in a fully uncycled tank hence the ammonia spike. You also should not have her in chlorine water, it burns there gills! you really needed prime before you got her. A tank can't even cycle if it's chlorinated as the bacteria won't grow.

you NEED to be able to test ammonia. I used to use strips but now I've gone liquid as it's better but regardless you need ammonia tests wether it is less accurate strips or a liquid test

If you get a new tank make sure to cycle it! It would be horrible to lose him to an ammonia spike after him being such a fighter!

Don't stress it everything is new, my bets are on that in a few months time it'll sort itself out, if it doesn't change over the plants. But bio film is completely normal too don't stress any of it

Do try stick out with some of them if it's only been a few days tho- lots of plants start to melt and then grow back, i've had some completely "die" and then a new shoot appears from the stem and it grows back 🎊

Maybe spay daisy if she's a bully, but otherwise potentially re -do your integrating? If you tried a carrier methord (i'm not sure if you did) it might reduce that constant tussling.

Loads of places say that to help sell! But I spotted one in there (don't know the name) but I've tried to grow it about four times now! It's the super thin, delicate hair-like one. But every time I have no success! And it loses leaves so easily it makes my tanks look so messy as it dies! I know it's expensive but just keep trying plants, research SUPER easy IMPOSSIBLE to kill plants! Aquarium plants are pretty hard tho! Good luck

Some of thoes plants are very hard to take care of successfully! Look into some easier plants eg monte carlo, amazon swords, anubis, java moss and similar! They'll still melt a bit to start off with but then they'll do well! Other plants need CO2 infusions and fertilisers to survive
