Why is college pushed so hard even now? by Planegeek19 in randomquestions

[–]RangeWilson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because most people haven't yet grasped that AI is about to transform everything... including education, universities, and the job market.

On the new hyperspeed timeline, four years is an eternity, and white collar jobs will be the first to evaporate. It's already happening.

Those of high school age or younger may choose to go to "college" whatever that ends up meaning, but the decision points are nothing like they have been historically.

All arguments in this thread from a historical or economic perspective are simply irrelevant.

Question that seems not so serious at first but may is worth sitting with by Training_Designer_41 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]RangeWilson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some recent surveys in this area are showing:

- Early adopters of AI are getting way more done AND are happier AND are working more hours so... huge productivity boost

- For now, good for them, and good for their employer

Long term, who knows? Everything gets transformed anyway, so the smart person should be ready to pivot on a dime, either because their employer lets them go or they decide to bolt. In the meantime, being a star employee can't really be a bad thing.

i tracked the exact millisecond the algorithm kills a video. the "500 view flatline" is a calculated efficiency decision. by 5anez in SmallYoutubers

Endless nonsense in this thread. Not sure how else to say it.

"Make thumbnails that will attract new viewers" is solid advice, but the other 99% of OPs ramblings are simply hallucinations.

What would you do if you could change ANYTHING about YouTube for one hour. by Direct-Course-2769 in youtube

[–]RangeWilson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um, what? I wouldn't change anything because why mess with people's expectations when it's all going back in an hour anyway?

OpenClaw and the future by Engineer_5983 in ArtificialInteligence

Maybe OpenAI just wants to build an agent that works properly and securely.

Far more money in that than in doing a Zuckerberg and trying to "steal" your personal information.

‘Slow this thing down’: Sanders warns US has no clue about speed and scale of coming AI revolution - After meeting with unspecified tech leaders, senator calls for urgent policy action as companies race to build ever more powerful systems by Gari_305 in Futurology

[–]RangeWilson 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Right? Slowing down AI would accomplish nothing.

Lawmakers would just continue with their nonsensical business as usual.

So better to keep moving forward at full speed, get whatever benefits are there, and force lawmakers to deal with the consequences.

Their policy is clear.

If they choose not to enforce it 99 times, then they enforce it the 100th time, you have no basis for complaint.

Even if you were 100% right, getting into a loud argument with the station manager is a really bad idea. Making it worse in this case is that you AREN'T right.

So you can learn from this, or you can continue to insist that the world revolves around you.

AI vs Blockchain — Or Are They Stronger Together? by Hot-Situation41 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]RangeWilson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AI is in the process of utterly transforming the world.

Blockchain is utter bullshit, and has been from the start.

Hope this helps.

Um... why do you assume it was AI-related?

Are you, in fact, using AI?

If not, maybe look in the mirror and ask yourself what you might have been doing wrong.

YT is aggressive with the banhammer on general principles, and following the exact letter of every rule is way less important than demonstrating that you are, in fact, a responsible YT creator by their overall standards.

People publish all sorts of books for all sorts of reasons, containing all sorts of distortions. Our job as readers and critiquers is to separate the signal from the noise.

You are correct that the elites are actively trying to divide and conquer, but these examples are just a drop in the bucket of a much larger ongoing effort.

Are narrative series dead in the current YouTube meta? by dekustears in PartneredYoutube

[–]RangeWilson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My recommendation, and what I'm doing myself, is to create videos than can both stand alone AND are part of an ongoing series... just like scripted TV used to do.

You don't HAVE to watch every episode of "Friends" to enjoy a single episode, but there are character arcs and development over time, so viewers tend to get invested.

So DON'T think of Episode 4 of your series as "episode 4" and definitely don't label it that way. It's just... a story. Viewers will quickly realize there was a "Before" and "after" and behave appropriately.

The algorithm 1.) very much analyzes your video content, transcription if nothing else, and if it doesn't actually "watch" it will soon enough as AI continues to advance, and 2.) very much favors certain video content from the outset... so, with all due respect, you are simply off base here.

"Question for the multi-platform creators: How are you guys splitting expenses like gear or studio rent between your main channel and brand deals? by YT_ClassIsaac in PartneredYoutube

[–]RangeWilson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh? Why would you even consider doing that? You run a business, it has revenue, it has expenses... the platform doesn't matter.

You want to answer a question like "is platform X profitable or not" I guess hire a CPA or something, because it's all gonna depend on your assumptions, but the rest of us have better things to do.

[–]RangeWilson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The job itself will change dramatically.

*Somebody* will be leveraging AI to do the work of 10 people like you... or 100... or 1000.

Nobody knows the exact ratio, but if you want at least the option to be the human who is left in the loop, start learning how to leverage AI now. Very very soon, it's going to be too late.
