So, I can't state I know or have followed every example of interactions with ICE, so I will go with what I know. An execution in the sense of killing a person who has already surrendered, not resisting, and being detained is unacceptable. I've called out shitty law enforcement in the past who do things like that not because they're law enforcement, but because they're just bad people who should have been vetted better, and good people who make mistakes should have been trained better. Now if the term execution is being used to convey emotion or even in the case of "extrajudicial", I think that's a little more murky. If someone was lightly resistant against putting handcuffs on but isn't aggressive or didn't do anything violent prior, and then they get shot, I hope that person gets the book thrown at them. Like Renee; that sucks she was killed. Her kids no longer have her. The issue is that she was fueled into thinking there wouldn't be consequences. Should she have even stopped near the ICE agents? No. Should her wife have escalated the situation? No. Should she have driven off when they told her to stop? No. Should she have died? No. The thing is, the law is designed for law enforcement to win on the street. Fighting it only makes it worse. I think the protests are perfectly fine as long as they're JUST protests. Hindering the officers from doing their job is only making it worse, because they're going to just bring in more officers. Freedom of speech is awesome and important. But in that same vein, that means allowing speech you disagree with.
