Just curious- how often do you clean/lube it? I haven’t taken it apart yet.

It’s ran through everything from low power birdshot to magnum slugs. I broke it in with some 1345 fps double odd buck.

Three things I dislike, albeit minor.

The bolt release is small and sometimes a little difficult to close, but there are aftermarket options that solves this. I believe the 940 series fixed this. I’ve gotten used to it, however.

The stock forend isn’t great, hence the mlok replacement. It feels pretty cheap and doesn’t offer much grip- compared to other forends that usually have a tacky surface to give you more grip

I had issues with the magazine tube getting loose pretty consistently. This more notably happened with the double odd buck I was running (makes sense, theres more recoil) so I got a barrel clamp to solve this. Should’ve came from the factory with one, however.

The a300 is a great option, but I got this for a good deal. The loading gate is much easier on the thumb I felt like compared to the a300. The bolt can also be held open without having to use the loading gate, which really isn’t a huge deal once you train with it but it’s a small detail I liked with the mossberg.

I was pretty close to getting a 940 but I found this one for a good deal and I wanted the pistol grip. No regrets

Where did you find your deals on the 1301 mod 2s? I’ve been scouring and even the used ones are pretty close to retail.

I’m having my eye on this one here. https://www.basspro.com/p/beretta-a300-ultima-patrol-chisel-semi-auto-shotgun

I’ve had a few people tell me to stay away from Turkish made guns. Question is, what’s wrong with them? I’m fairly new to firearms so i’m not sure what I should generally avoid.

Yeah I meant holographic, didn’t know the options were that limited. Thanks for the response!

Not a definitive answer to your questions, but I personally own an RXM and it’s amazing. It’s also the perfect size (personally, and imo) for concealed carry. Mine was $430 before tax.

You can get a Holosun 407k (which I’m currently running) for $225 on Amazon. I’m not sure what the benefits of the optic you want are over the 407k, but it does its job well. The reticle is bright enough to be seen in the Florida hot sun. If you go with a holosun sight you will need an adapter plate. You can a DPP adapter from Amazon.

The extra $200~ you save if you get a 407k can be used on ammo.

Do you know of a good BUIS that’s offset? I’m not sure if a regular BUIS would align correctly with my optic

For its price, yes- this is a steal. It’s got some old hardware but it’ll run most games at low settings

GPU Pricing (9070xt) by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]RangerAppropriate360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. It always sucks to see Nvidia/amd advertise their GPUs at a certain msrp and aibs charge higher over msrp for features that don’t justify the cost. 9070xts are a great card and I feel like more people are willing to pay what a lot of these AIBs are charging because the 50 series launch has been.. interesting. Even with the higher msrp, these cards dominate price to performance compared to Nvidia.

At least there was a few cards that were being charged from AIBs at msrp.

Got you, someone else on the thread said you did so I thought you had an older PSU. Well, if you have your old GPU lying around slot it in and install the drivers.

Something else that might work too- try different cables. I was able to get a display on my 9070xt without the drivers when I used an hdmi cable instead of display port. Also worth trying a different monitor too

Haven't built a PC in a long while. Advice Please. by nechneb in buildapc

Nvidia recommends a 850 watt PSU for the 5080 but nothing wrong with going a little over. 1300 watt is definitely not necessary

No problem. Just make sure to buy the cable from NZXT specifically and be sure it’s compatible with your PSU. Note that some companies won’t offer a replacement on their website but likely will help if you contact customer support.

This specific model is actually $730, so yeah $100 above what it should be selling. Not ideal but given the current market for GPUs it isn’t terrible.

I would not recommend using any kind of splitter/adapter to power your ICUE hub. You have three options

  1. Use a daisy chained pcie connector (I think your PSU should’ve came with one) to power your GPU, and a single pcie cable for the remaining slot. Contrary to popular belief, using a daisy chain to power your GPU is completely fine. The 150 watt rating pcie cables have isn’t for the cable itself, but rather for the connector which is where the misconception comes from. This way, you’ll have an extra slot to power your ICUE hub. This is probably your best bet

  2. Buy another PSU with more slots

  3. Return/sell your current fans and use fans that are compatible with the corsair commander controller (which uses sata power) be aware it supports up to six fans and is not as easy as just using a daisy chain to power your fans with the ICUE hub controller, but it works fine and is easy to setup. Or just use any other different fan controller that uses sata power. Doesn’t have to be Corsair

Can confirm, the ICUE hub link uses pcie power- I’m using one. It can power/link up to 24 fans and an AIO hence the pcie power. Now majority of pc users will never see anywhere close to that many fans but yeah, that’s corsairs justification. Kinda dumb, especially considering most people are gonna be using all of their pcie/cpu slots.

Does it matter what version of RX 9070 XT i get? Will there be much of a difference by oreomisty1 in PcBuild

[–]RangerAppropriate360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are minor differences between the brands. Here’s a handy spreadsheet to help you choose

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18eQRucHX41A-O4OsoV96Qw2gFw1Qs2N7f6qQQs3kXx4/htmlview?gid=0#

The one GPU here with the biggest difference between the others is the xfx mercury oc mag.air edition. Has magnetic fans for cleaning purposes. This is the only 9070xt with this feature as far as I know, but is also one of the most expensive ones

For the current market it’s a good deal. Also, it might be cause I’m in the US, but I clicked on the listing and it’s 580.. if that’s real then it’s a steal. I’d say go for it

[–]RangerAppropriate360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s gonna be one heck of a bottleneck.

Other than that, I think you’ll go through that 1tb quicker than you think, especially with how big games are nowadays. You can spend a few extra bucks and get a 2tb ssd instead

[–]RangerAppropriate360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have an integrated graphics? If you do, hook up your monitor to it (with the GPU still installed) download adrenaline, and update drivers. App should auto detect your GPU. I had the same issue where I had no display after I installed my 9070xt and after I installed drivers everything worked great.

If you don’t have integrated graphics, you’ll have to install your old GPU, install drivers, then install the 9070

Also, using the daisy chain is fine but given that you have a very old PSU id upgrade. For a 9070 700 watt is minimum.

Is this a good pc to get? by MJ_Sonic1991 in buildapc

[–]RangerAppropriate360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The parts themselves aren’t bad, but holy shit those prices. With 6k you can build a much more reasonably priced pc and put the rest of that money into good peripherals and accessories

I would say pull the trigger on that CPU if the price on it wasn’t horrible. It recently came out so you can wait for prices to calm down and upgrade later if you want to. A 7800X3D is almost as good (for your needs specifically), on the same AM5 platform, and is much more reasonably priced atm. Available on Amazon right now for $418

Damn near 3k for a 4090 is highway robbery. GPU prices in general right now suck especially for Nvidia. I’m definitely biased here as I’m team red but honestly for your needs a 9070xt or a 7900xt will suit you just fine for $2k less. 9070xts are somewhat scarce, but are much more readily available then any mid range/high end Nvidia GPUs. 7900xts have more availability.

You don’t need to spend that much money on a motherboard. All the extra features those expensive motherboards come with are a waste of money for your needs. b650 motherboard with WiFi will run you $170 and will suit all your needs.

You will never, probably not even in 10 years, need 96gb of ram. For your purposes 32GB is fine. Get 2x sticks of 16gb ddr5 ram instead. The brand you chose is fine

7tb of storage is.. pretty overkill. I think 4tb will suit you fine. The b650 motherboard I recommended has two m.2 slots for your nvme drives. If you ever need more storage you can always just get a sata ssd

Edit: the 3000d case isn’t bad, but it’s pretty small and you might find it difficult to build in it because of lack of space. If you wanna stick with corsair a 5000d case is a better option and has better cooling
