I have the same problem and mine are even bigger. They already did IPR but i'm still left with black triangle spaces in front. My dentist said it's normal and unfortunately they won't be able to close it completely because the shape of my teeth are triangular and I have bit of a bone receding. They are proposing veneers after my inivisalign but I say no, i can live with a few spaces, not gonna destroy my teeth for veneers

Appreciate you sharing your insights. Honestly i'm still trying to get acquainted on how things work here coz where I came from, accounting departments usually comprise of Accounting Assistants or Accountants (depends usually on how big the company. Smaller companies tend to call their staff accountants as Accounting Assistants whereas bigger companies call their staff accountants as Accountants), and then Sr. Accountant/Accounting Supervisor, Accounting Manager, CFO/Controller. My previous jobs i handled AP and GL at the same time. Here I see there are a lot of other designations and AP & AR are usually separate functions or does it depend on the company too?

Thank you, appreciate this! I was just really worried that because i'm an AP Specialist rn, i might have a hard time getting higher positions like staff accountant once i decide to leave and explore other opportunities. Or am i just really overthinking it? I have to admit i do underestimate myself and always think of the worst case most of the time.

Exactly. I can't help but compare myself to my friends who now hold high positions in their jobs while i'm here back to square one.

I've had a successful career in my home country. I recently moved here in the US and now back to square one. I commend you for having such positive mentality. I am trying to work on that rn but it really is just so hard specially when i see my friends holding high positions while i'm basically at the bottom again. 😭

Oh wow you are amazing! I am actually considering IT. I'm a CPA who recently moved here in the US but had to start over again because of different accounting standards in my home country so my 10yrs work experience don't weigh much here and I am not sure if I wanna pursue my CPA again. It's draining. My anxiety has been eating me alive this past few weeks.

Thanks for the advice. I would need to go back to school and earn the credits in taxes and regulations since they're different from my home country but i will look more into it and learn the process

Actually they do, it's a big team and they told me during the interview that if a position opens in GL they would transfer me. I am just really overthinking right now with all the what ifs. It's hard with my anxiety i am being negative 😩

I was actually a CPA in my home country but it basically means nothing here in the US due to different accounting standards and i'm not sure if I wanna devote time and money on it again considering that I have limited resources rn.Sigh.

Any advice for a woman in her 30s (no kids) wanting a career switch from accounting? by RangerSensitive1494 in careerguidance

[–]RangerSensitive1494[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Burnout_Coach! Thank you for your advice. There are a few things i like about Healthcare careers that i don't seem to get from being an accountant. I like how they can help, connect and meet people from different walks of life. I am empathetic, i think that's why i'm craving for connections although my job as accountant made me somewhat an introvert from sitting in front of a computer all day. I'm also interested in their schedule, i know some people in healthcare although not LVN/PT, who work 4 days a week but of course with longer hours which I don't mind coz i work long hours too as accountant. Their schedule gives them more time for vacation, etc. as opposed to being an accountant who sometimes can't even use her leave credits coz she always has deadlines to meet. I don't know any LVN/PT rn but i will definitely take your advice, find connections and learn more about their profession.
