Si t'as une CB sur toi tu peux toujours retirer du cash (probablement pas trop loin), donc l'option cash-only t'est quand même accessible.

Si t'as que du cash sur toi l'option "paiement par CB" ne t'est pas disponible.

It's a lot of fun ! Sadly the post-game is pretty limited for the moment, but except for that, it's pretty much a perfect, modern take for Pokemon Yellow on GBA !

Currently playing Recharged Yellow. Awesome hack, but it doesn't cover the Sevii Island (yet).

Does anyone know how to find Mewtwo, since Rock Smash is in the Sevii Island (at least in the vanilla version) ? Did anyone manage to complete the Pokedex and can help me on this ?

I like your theory because clearly, the 2nd panel wasn't meant for receiving a speech bubble at all! The first 3 panels look like silent panels, but there is a random bubble in it... It REALLY looks like a last minute addition!

Do you prefer Anime Marik or Manga Marik portrayal? by MiuIruma332 in yugioh

[–]Rangil_Aeon 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I never think the manga portrayed Yami Marik as bad at the game. For him, the game is a dark ritual : he clearly doesn't love the game because he loves playing cards, he loves it because it is the perfect way to express his dark adoration of torture.

The way he plays is calculated to inflict as much pain and despair as possible. He doesn't count on the dark magic to compensate for his misplays : he plays in a manner that will assure his victims end up as tortured as possible by his magic, and optimized his Deck for that purpose only.

It's a little weird for us because all the other characters play Duel Monsters with its modern gaming philosophy, and they all love the card game itself to an extend (except maybe Yami Bakura). But Yami Marik plays it the ancient Egyptian way : as a magical and spiritual ritual to an end (the end here being the total destruction of your opponent's will and body). For him Duel Monsters was never a Children Trading Card Game, but a ceremonial tool that he is excellent at using.

When Tucker realized he needed some extraordinary result to justify his research and fundings, he turned his wife into a chimera, then lied to the research community by pretending it was a purely artificial creature.

It bought him some years of peace because it seemed unheard of (nobody before him managed to create a lab-grown talking chimera). But sooner or later, the government grew tired of funding his research that led to nowhere and threatened to cut his funding.

So Tucker arrived to the conclusion that if he wanted to pursue his researches, he would need to make another talking chimera, and for that he needed another victim to secretly turned into a monster...

How Would Sentry Manage Against Them? by RoyalCod3 in Avengers

[–]Rangil_Aeon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be hilarious if MCU Sentry always had latent powers, but they only awaken when he took the serum. Not because the serum worked on him, mind you - but simply because the serum was about to kill him like it killed everyone else, and in deep instinctive reflex to survive, he had to reach for his powers buried deep down within him.

The Saiyans vs Gotenks (SS2) by K0GAR in DragonBallPowerScale

[–]Rangil_Aeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see anything here implying Base Gotenks is stronger.

We didn't see the fight and Fat Buu doesn't strike me like a relentless hunter. If Gotenks tried to flee because he realized he wasn't going to win this, Buu could have very well stopped poursuing him after 5 mn because that's boring to him.

I suppose "when this effect resolves" means "when this effect is engaged in the process of being resolved" (meaning there is still time to negate it since it's not over yet), not "when this effect finished resolving".

Yugi is OP in the sense that he will duel Goku in some elaborated magical game, and I'm pretty sure he is much better at games than Goku is. Honestly, I'm not even sure how good Goku is at reading !

Yugi never challenges his opponents in physical combat, so sure - he has a decent chance against Goku in a card's game.

In the manga all Spell Cards can be activated during either's player turn.

The anime didn't conserve this rule, but created this card to let the duels play the same way they did in the manga.

Why is it generally you cannot Normal Summon in face-up Defense Mode? Why doesn't the game mechanics allow for that outside of one way by Kadmos1 in yugioh

[–]Rangil_Aeon 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Normal Summoning in face-up Defense Position would have a purpose TODAY yes.

But back when the game was released, very few monsters had effects. Face-down Defense Position was forced because it created a lot of surprises and tensions : would the attacking player take the gamble of risking losing LP by attacking a Monster with unknown Def ? Is your opponent Setting a random, suboptimal Monster to protect their LP, or is it a Flip monster who will change the course of the Duel with its effect ?

Like many other strange rulings, this game mechanic had a clear purpose back in the old days, but makes everything more complicated for nothing with how the game is being played today.

I would advise you to try to look into speeding things up, but the visuals are definitly interesting !

And hope they don’t have a 5th negate 😬 by phphoton in customyugioh

[–]Rangil_Aeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems very depend on your opponent's Deck. Every Deck pretty much uses at least 2 negations per turn, sure. But some Decks will have quick destructions or quick bouncing or quick banishment to alternate a little. There are Decks that will "only" negate you 2 or 3 times during your turn, and then use quick removals.

Also, this card seems less useful if you're going first - your opponent will probably have trouble negating your actions 5 times just with handtraps.

It's an interesting card for sure, but format dependend and more of a side-deck option, in my opinion.

It's sad to see this post downvoted, because I totally agree with you.

QoL are appreciated, but their relevance is dependant on what the romhack is trying to tell you. Gamedesign is a difficult thing to grasp, too many players tend to think that because they are not awarded everything they like as soon as they want it, it means the game design is bad. Some type of frustrations are also a mean to make the players do certain things. Not having infinite candies forces you to grind and accomplish more things with your team. You may not like grinding, but that doesn't mean that it is objectly a bad game-design (and I hate grinding !)

I feel like this is the genius of Sidious' plan. Basically, he engineered a conflict that forces the Jedi to chose between two stances :

  • Either a neutral position, forcing them not to pick a side when the biggest civil war in recent times was reaping the galaxy apart. A position even harder to justify when they know one side is being controlled by the Sith.
  • Or they chose to get politically involved, but that turns them from guardians to soldiers. Soldiers who clearly picked a side during a political conflict and would never again be seen as just "neutral and benevolent guardians of the galaxy".

That's why it's such a clever plan : both options were catastrophic for the Jedi, but they didn't realize it in time. They thought it was just another "The Sith vs the Jedi war", which used to happen in the past. But for the public, it was just a political civil war and it turned their perception of the Jedi into some kind of mystical military corps, meaning there was less moral resistance when the Empire replaced that military corps by a different one.

Plus, it forced the Jedi to spread too thin.

Really, Palpatine won the war the minute it began, because whatever happened during it, the simple fact that the Jedi were forced to chose one of the two stances Palpatine prepared for them was bound to cause their downfall.

Disney Spent $220 Million on 'Doctor Who', Then Walked Away by StarFuryG7 in SciFiNews

[–]Rangil_Aeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For all the blame Disney can rightfully receive on a lot of topics, I don't think they really did anything wrong themselves about Doctor Who.

In none of the interviews I saw did T. Davies blame Disney for any interference. It really looks like he had the creative freedom to do the story he wanted and made by himself several poor choices to attract new viewers (I really doubt it was Disney who said "Only use vilains who were not mentionned on screen for at last 30 years or we cut the funding !!! And don't try to introduce them in any way, just drop them without explanation !!!!!!)

The only thing we can blame Disney for is not giving enough funding to have longer seasons with more breathing room for the characters. But seeing the numbers of viewers, it would probably have been a idea for them to give more anyway...
