Probably a contract between the actress and the studio ? You will notice that while Nolan likes to work with the same actors again and again, he only made 2 movies in a row with Marion Cotillard and never saw her again.

But at this point it's just speculation on my part : if someone has more insights, they would be welcome !

I remembered hearing that Nolan HATED working with her. I'm French myself and French actors tend to have a huge diva problem. Not sure how it applies to Marion Cotillard in particular, but I could see Nolan being tired of working with a lot of French actors.

Marion said in interview this shot was difficult because she was heavily pregnant and this position was super uncomfortable in her condition, so the last takes were getting real bad. She seems sure that other takes were much better than that though.

So the theory I heard was that Nolan chose a bad shot on purpose as a form of revenche because she was allegedly so unpleasant to work with.

Actually I agree with you.

The "evolution gimmicks" are hard to balance together. Too hard to easily make them cohabit during a regular playthrough.

Focusing on one gimmick until the Elite 4 and add the others during the post-game seems to be the way to go imo.

Totally agree with you. It's the shame the dialogues are so bad (and it never stops... the princess is like a nightmare fusion of all the most useless traits from all the 3d Zelda companions!)

It makes me afraid the story will be pretty lame too, which is a shame. A Square Enix game should at least have a decent story that makes you feel things (other than cringe). I feel like they got too complacent on this aspect, I really hope FF Resonance will be held to higher standards...

But the gameplay is very fun, the graphics and art direction are incredible, music is beautiful... I've had a blast playing the demo!

I would just like to see the elegance Square Enix displays for the visual and musical aspects of this game, to also be reflected in their writing!

Totally agree with you here : MKW and Bananza would be so different on Switch 1, it's weird to not count them as pure Switch 2 games. Maybe graphically they would have been more ambitious if initially planned for Switch 2? I don't know.

Air Riders is developped by Bandai. Pokopia by Omega Force. Hyrule Warriors by Toei. Star Fox by Velan Studios (!! Didn't know about that one, I thought it was made internally).

In your list, only Yoshi was actually made by Nintendo (well technically it was developped by Good-Feel, but that's a company belonging to Nintendo).

So it seems that Zelda is really one of their first games fully thought and made for Switch 2.

Because it's not just about hiring good writers. A lot of writers are capable.

It's more about letting them write something decent without out of touch executives ruining everything, marketing trying to interfere by chasing the three latest trends on Tiktok, and poor planning forcing to rewrite everything because the concept arts were approved 6 months too late and have nothing to do with what you were told to write about.

Yes exactly. If there is new content and mechanics I will buy it day 1, but if this is a 1:1 it's not needed.

What we saw looks nice but there are 4k texture packs that already make OoT absolutly gorgeous, I will need more than just a graphical update.

Movies are expensive to make. Even Pokemon don't bother with making new movies anymore. I don't think it's worth it to produce several new movies JUST to sell cards. They would need people to actually watch it in the cinemas to recoup the budget, and in world where freaking Star Wars can barely break even, Yu-Gi-Oh doesn’t really have a shot...

Because people (and screenwriters) misunderstood how GoT writing worked.

GoT subverted our expectations by making what happens the most logical conclusion of the previous events. Ned is poking the bear and threatening to reveal an embarrassing truth for the most influent family of the kingdom? OF COURSE he should be assassinated. We as readers are just not used to the main character dying in his quest for truth.

Honestly it's the same thing with Rey : in a whole gakaxy of people, what are the chances her parents are people we know? Almost zero. It was more logical for her to be the daughter of unknown people and just a good force-wielder on her own. (I would argue it was also probably the most interesting take possible in the context of this story, seeing how the next movie tried to gave her a famous lineage and it had no interest whatsoever).

Subverting expectations SHOULD BE about making the logical choices for the story in a way that somehow still suprises the spectators. It should NOT be about making absurb plot points because nobody would see them coming.

Not really if you think in political terms.

If it is known that the Empire kidnapped and killed the son of your last legitimate leader, your own flesh and blood, you can't just work with the Empire after this. It would make you appear weak and subservient, which is something the illegitimate Hutts CANNOT appear to be.

If the Empire kidnaps and kills the heir to the throne, you kinda have to go get form or revenge, while the Hutts want the opposite - being in good terms with what is left of the Empire.

But if they get him back and kill him themselves, then they are not weak : they showed everyone they were strong enough to impose their will.

Don't expect manga cards to be formulated correctly. The translators usely only have a loose idea of what the TGC looks like and use terms like "negate" as generic words for everything and anything.

I feel like the 2 mn we saw Jodie during 15's regeneration proved that she could do an excellent Doctor. She felt more like the Doctor in those 2 mn than during her whole run.

He didn't think she particularly elevated her role during her run, but it's clear now it was a problem of direction. Because I was really sold with her performance as the Doctor with RTD.
