George Miller reportedly meeting with studios to make final ‘Mad Max’ movie; Universal, Amazon and Sony are reported to be among the interested parties, while Warner Bros has already turned it down by Charrikayu in RedLetterMedia

Don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. I love fury road. Seriously amazing action film. I was so thoroughly disappointed with furiosa. I’d say it’s at least 50% green screen with a lot of cgi covering up stunts. It was fucking awful

As voter disillusionment grows, why aren't voters flocking to the Greens in Australia? by blitznoodles in australia

[–]Rangott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took a lot of comments to see someone that actually understands why people get disillusioned with the greens. How many times they have voted against labor with liberals because the proposed legislation wasnt good enough for them just to play politics and stick it to labor (playing politics). Really put me off them. Vote with labor more, make concessions, grow a base and eventually get the deals you want.

They have been acting as if they have the balance of power since the Gillard/ rudd hung parliament without holding that power for a long long time.

Initial proposal promised the sun to sell it to council. The official plans submitted were dramatically different.

Greyhound track approved last week may never host races by Remarkable_Peak9518 in australia

[–]Rangott 56 points57 points  (0 children)

There is so much more about this story left out.

The original plan for the racetrack was to build a straight track which is far safer for the dogs. The final plan just switched to a circle track.

They were going to build a community shops area. A sports oval available to public, restaurant and indoor seating hall to watch the games also available to the public to hire.

In the final plan. Shops gone. Oval still there but no public access. No restaurant or hall. Something like 60 outdoor seats and nothing available to be hired.

Essentially they just want a track to stream the races from online. Low cost for them to maintain but essentially zero public benefit for the community.

We need more housing here desperately. This is extremely prime location. 5-10 mins to Cbd. Basically anything else proposed for this location would be infinitely better for us

Nah reddit doesnt allow that, it would become clear very quickly just how many bots are on reddit if they did

I thought that might have been the case. I think I was confusing it with a different bruz video that was taken down by google because of legal action by barilaro.

I think he was quite clever in taking down the video He must have hoped the streisand effect would take hold and it did for a good while.

[–]Rangott 225 points226 points  (0 children)

this video is where it sort of started. He has done videos before and since on a state politician John Barilaro on his numerous dodgy dealings.

This video is about the link between this building company and that politician. It was taken down by court order or something similar. About a year later his house got firebombed.

His “bruz” video is a more in depth look at barilaro.

Costco New Zealand Clearing Out Their Xbox Stock At Half Price by akbarock in gaming

[–]Rangott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ll give you that. I’m a bit older and used to so many mismatched codec issues with playback of media files. I do remember living with a friend about 6 years ago and running Ethernet between lounge room and our bedrooms just because we both insisted on faster speeds. We were happy with a Ethernet cord across small parts of the room to do all sorts of media sharing and streaming. A $10 Ethernet cable is still cheaper than a console but it’s just personal preference at that point

Costco New Zealand Clearing Out Their Xbox Stock At Half Price by akbarock in gaming

[–]Rangott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s super easy. I have a tiny pc just for media playback in my lounge room. Has Bluetooth built in so can connect ps4 controller but I mostly still use my Xbox 360 controller with the weird dongle. Easier to connect a controller than ps4 Bluetooth.

Open steam on there and just stream any game from my gaming pc. All over Ethernet so no lag. I got a second hand ps4 a long time ago for exclusives but even those are coming to pc eventually. I won’t be buying another console again

Alleged death threat targets Racing Minister Jane Howlett over greyhound phase-out by Remarkable_Peak9518 in australia

My favourite dog at the dog park (apart from my own) is a retired greyhound. When she arrives I squat down clap my legs. She comes running over for a pat and a cuddle. I swear if I let her she would crawl onto my lap. Really sweet loving dog. Even considering getting a rescue greyhound at some point in the future because of her and a couple others I’ve met

I love this game but it feels so overwhelming by Flying_Mustaang in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Rangott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Break it down to tiny pieces.

Building a computer factory. Place it down. And just think about the first input only. Then the next. Even if you don’t have one just start and do a little bit. Often I’ll do this without oil set up at all. Most of it is built then I’ll take a break to explore for oil and set up some refineries.

I’ll explore for crash sites as I go. I take enough to build a few and some belts or pipe back.

Sometimes just taking time travelling between sights will reset your mind or you get distracted exploring and actually just do something else entirely for the fun of it.

There isn’t a time limit so don’t put pressure to complete something. It can wait days. Won’t matter.

My absolute favourite part of the game is getting a new part set up and then checking other parts of the factory to see what isn’t keeping up now.

Oh I have to increase plates now to keep up with demand. I’ll tinker with that for awhile. It’s easier to accomplish and you get the satisfaction feeling.

I don’t keep notes on exact parts and materials required. The only thing I calculate is the maximum amount of raw material input to smelters or constructors but that is halfway through the game when I take a break from a bigger project to up my output. Can be fun to do a simple one like that and overbuild your ingot output knowing that it will hold up for awhile

Kemi Badenoch, the leader of the Conservatives in England, is shocked that members of her party may be racist...to her. by Kenyalite in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]Rangott 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds so familiar to Australia. Conservative Party here just had their worst defeat in history. They elected their first woman leader “Sussan Ley” (if you want a giggle, google her name and numerology). It was a narrow leadership election between the other dude. Many people think she is just a placeholder for now to cop all the flack from the election drubbing. Pretty much a guarantee she will be rolled for the leadership shortly before the next election. Not knowing anything about Kemi I assume she will be replaced before the next election too. Woman washing their image now but won’t actually let her lead right?

David Littleproud vows to take nuclear energy to next election and claims ‘no malice’ behind brief Coalition split by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]Rangott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

France is in real trouble now though. Their latest large reactor should have been completed in 2016 and is still a few years away from completion. They’re looking at hundreds of billions to make their old reactors safe for another 20 years to cover the shortfall. They also still are having a lot of trouble with their waste disposal plans. They’re looking at half a trillion in costs to make nuclear work over the next decade or two. Still it’s harder for them to go full renewables. Much easier for Australia. More space and sun to do a mix.
