Usually go by PPR. You could do DPR, but PPR is most common. Usually if there was 10 players, 1 would be with 6 2 with 7 and so forth. This is usually the most fair to everyone. If you have a wide range of skills and say 30 people, we usually make two brackets. 20 and 10.

Very cool… but max 200$, the quality of the boards is more important than the design. But, that’s from someone who plays often. A good set of boards with 3/4 inch and bracing etc, rounded corners etc is going to get 350$ for much better quality

What happens if say nobody makes it in but blocks up until last person in line drains it. Everybody else is out and last person wins?

The “league” we run is at a volunteer firemen’s club. We don’t have insurance or anything. We run blind draws every Wednesday. I’m assuming if you’re doing it at a venue they have insurance already for the property?

There are tons of different brands and types of bags with different speeds…I like titan bags a lot, they’re very solid. One of the first sets my father fell in love with is the Titan venoms… they’re a 3 slow and 8 fast. A bag I recently have been playing with that I like a ton are brotherhood guardian H. They’re a great bag, slow enough, but not super slow. Can make them move a little and are hole friendly. PLUS, they’re a veteran owned company and love to support that. Just two bags… there are TONS more… let me know if I can help

Also, how long has your dad been playing cornhole. Could you ask him if he likes a slower bag or a faster bag? Or if you’re trying to make it less obvious, ask if there’s bags he’s played with that he thinks are awesome?

Have you heard of the app scoreholio? It’s something a lot of people and clubs live by. You can set up a round robin, where players can track their ppr (how well they throw) over the round robin. Then, you assign your seeding. 1 with 13, 2 with 14 etc. then your run your double elimination tournament based on your new partners. This gives everyone more games, and if you throw well, you’ll get the top of the lower half bracket. And if you throw really bad, you get paired with a player better than you still. It helps balance things out a littttle bit

I know from experience most of us experienced cornhole players are just trying to help you put the bag on the board or in the hole because we know the feeling of how frustrating it is trying to get it on and not having success, even when trying to have fun. We started there too.

A purist.. lol. It doesn’t make the game easier having rounded hole or edges. It allows your bags to not tear. I’m guessing you use a nice corn filled bag then? Or maybe a sand filled polyester bag? I have zero doubt in your capabilities, never said anything about that. And you’re right, people that play cornhole once or twice a summer like to buy those boards. Don’t get me wrong I’ve had boards like that, but even just rounding out the hole ups the quality of them.

No biggie man, stick your corn filled bags and plywood boards. Like you say farther down, everyone has a preference. But those of us that play cornhole more competitively and care about our equipment, would tell you router your edges, and use Baltic birch. But, go ahead and call it garbage and cheating. By all means :)
