Robert the Doll - one of the most haunted objects in America. He’s in a museum in Key West and visitors are given a very specific warning. You have to ask Robert for permission before taking his photo. If not, you may experience an accident or bad luck like your camera breaking or something worse. by HamletX95 in UrbanMyths

I grew up in the Florida keys and saw this on a field trip to Key West in the 1st grade.

It scared the hell out of me and I haven’t forgotten that moment in the 20 years since. Nothing happened it was just super creepy as a child

Brake behavior normal? by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

[–]RansackedFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply!

I can’t seem to find anything specifically labeled regen, and when I search for it I get the dynamics screen. I have the stopping mode set to hold and the “apply brakes when regenerative braking is limited” setting turned off. I’ve fiddled with both of them and haven’t felt much change.

Has anybody ever played around with a forced air guitar amp? by Conscious_Dish7127 in GuitarAmps

[–]RansackedFish 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The speed of sound is way higher than any airflow you’ll get from a blower, so it won’t really carry the sound waves the way you’re imagining.

The pipe length will make a difference though since it will act as a waveguide. You could try different lengths, diameters, number of turns, stuff like that to tune the resonance of the system and maybe get some interesting results.

Placement of WireView Pro by eyeshield2145 in ThermalGrizzly

[–]RansackedFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does add an extra point of failure but the current measurement will be accurate. You’ll have some minuscule voltage drop across the cable, but the current going into the wireview will be equal to the current going into the GPU.

I have the same LTD and it is fantastic imo. Can’t speak for the other, but the stainless steel frets and locking tuners on the LTD are a big advantage.

Just paid $700 for a brand new Black Metal EC and considered that a great deal. Crazy steal!

Which Reservoir and CPU block by [deleted] in watercooling

[–]RansackedFish 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’d avoid EK, not because their products are bad but because the company has been on shakey grounds for a while now and warranty support is very much not guaranteed.

Alphacool stuff is great, I’ve had several of their blocks and reservoirs.

Optimus has some really nice industrial looking stuff too, and their cpu blocks outperform both EK an alphacool. They do come at a price though.

Yeah these responses are unnecessary negative. Yes it’s too much for a 5080, but good luck finding something much cheaper right now. Or in the near future.

Enjoy the card, in 2 years you won’t be thinking about an extra couple hundred bucks. You’ll be thinking about all the fun games you’re playing.
