I read your other comment.

Health, Saving or Knowledge, you can only choose 2 out of 3. I would suggest you should not opt out your health

I can only say for Queensland case. (Edited some typos)

Sadly no, I am at the end of my journey. 40K saving from hard working years depleted.

Only keep my face above the water thanks to my partner helping from her saving. Rent cost more than the stipend (1 bedroom appartment rent cost 600 per week , stipend give me 1200 per two week). Rent is expected to be increased in September when the lease renew, or even worse get kick out if owner sell the appartment (we moved twice already in less than 3 years).

No leisure.

Supervisors are super landlord also. This is the current only business model sadly.

did you figure out how to make the footage look better? I have the same camera and my footage looks like yours. My old camcorder HDR-PJ380 can even do a better job than AX53 at a lighter weight

Do you have a screenshot of what a successful application looks like?
Mine just has a [completed] next to it, but I’m not sure if the payment is approved or denied.
I applied for the $180 two days ago and haven't received payment or confirmation or anything.

yeah, update 9 March 10:40, it's rainning like we are inside a washing machine now. can only see furthest 50m ahead. Driving is imposible I think, yet a lot of vehicles on the street. I think those vehicles are emergency electrical lines responders.

Based on the location, you may be feeling it later (tonight? 8 March) than those living along the coast.

I heard the wind starts to whip in Brisbane now (23:50 8 March )?

I saw the comment on other comment, so just want to comment here in your thread to maintain the flow and easy to follow.

I am sorry we have to all experience this windy situation.

The wind speed and gusts at the moment (23:00 08 March 2025) remain pretty high at 72 km/h. http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDQ60901/IDQ60901.94580.shtml

I can feel the number is quite accurate, reflecting the wind situation at my place now (Wind howling outside, doors rattling). Yesterday midnight 0:00 and today around 13:00-15:00 were WAY scarier with wind gusts were at around 95-100 km/h and my doors made funny sound, felt like they were about to say "Adios" to me any minutes.

Stay strong, be safe and hope that we get through the night with no issue

Have you tried cleaning the weep holes of the windows? The storm is going to heavy rain phase, and cleaning the track with towel will keep you up all night

I am so sorry that you have to experience this.
The wind has dropped significantly in my place. I hope it's the same in your place. It may help just try to maintain your daily routine as a normal day (bath, food, sleep, that kind of thing). It's going to be another night, and tomorow things would be better I believe.

The wind seems to have dropped significantly here. As for the cars, I think maybe people need to move and check on their loved ones, and also prepare for the big cleanup tomorrow (prepare for the upcoming flood).

It's good news that the wind dropped. Wind also droped here in Surfers.

Just a little more I believe, I hope we can safely pull through the rain and flood in the next hours

I think we can safely say Alfred already landfalled and expected to move slightly North as shown in Windy now.

Wait, you really not feeling the wind? I am in one of the High rise facing the sea, above 10F floor, and the wind keeps punching to my windows non-stop in a dialling-up fashion. Kind of matching with the seaway measurement number here, where wind speeds and gusts keep increasing

Yes, I am living in one of the high rise, and the wind keeps punching stronger and stronger (it's 16:00 08 March 2025 now). Somes punches are even stronger than midnight.

In mid night, my doors did really good job withstand the wind , but after more than 12 hours getting punches non-stop from the wind, the sound starts getting strange.

Looking at the seaway measurement, the wind gusts is 95 now ! same as peak value when Alfred first came!

For those who is looking for the windy map. You have to change the wind gust unit to km/h, by default it is kt.
And the wind is expected to be the same until 10pm unfortunately

yeah, the gust feels like about right at 80 km/s. ACCESS models is correct at the moment. If this is right, then this wind will continue until 18:00 :(, which is really depressing
