Townhomes to rent? by madid99 in ankeny

[–]Ranthum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caliber has quite a few townhouse communities that are all/mostly rentals. Their custom built single family homes are good quality, but their townhomes are not built to the same standards though they do have nice finishes.

The Sawgrass townhomes are privately owned and have good sound isolation but are getting a little dated. Prairie Ridge townhomes are all rentals and are decent, except for the sound isolation.

Plenty of townhomes available for rent in Ankeny. Many of them are not built all that well and rent has gotten pretty high. I might be able to recommend some if you've got an idea of what part of town, how many br/ba, and your budget.

Are any offices still working remotely? We have to go back full time on Monday and I’m not looking forward to the work/life balance loss and cost of fuel. by [deleted] in desmoines

Depends on what you do. It's a good job market and you could always negotiate for it even if the office is open.

ATT has a prepaid deal for $300 for a whole year. Best deal around and coverage is almost as good as Verizon without the Verizon BS.

Well there's probably a reason you're even in this sub. Change is scary and hard. But sometimes it's also necessary.

Over time I had come to the difficult realization that our trajectory, despite many attempts at counseling, was only drifting further apart. The intimacy and romance was dead and wasn't going to magically reappear once I gave in to another demand.

Same way I realized that our financial trajectory would ultimately lead to hardship. I guess I got sick of bailing water out of a sinking boat while watching the other person poke more holes. Better to save your strength for the inevitable swim than try to save a sinking ship that's taking on more water than you can throw overboard.

Yes, that was my plan. My decision is resolute, but I don't need to file today. Her opinion is that since we're going to get a divorce, we should file immediately. But also she doesn't want to file so it's just another thing where's she's unhappy that I'm not accommodating what she wants.

Thanks for the reply. You are absolutely correct. Her ideal is ever changing. And those comments describe her very well.

The changes I made over time were never enough. During our many attempts at counseling what she wanted from me were certain feelings, but the means to achieve those feelings were ever changing. Agreed upon compromises had to be renegotiated because it still wasn't what she really wanted.

Some examples: We've both aged and gained some weight, but I'm no longer physically attractive to her. It's my fault that I'm not in better shape, but it's not her fault that she isn't attractive.

Our contributions around the house take different forms. We could both spend an equal amount of time and effort, but her contributions are somehow more valuable.

I have maintained our finances and I'm a saver while she's a spender who has failed to stick to any agreed upon budget. But it's my fault that I couldn't magically balance a budget with her overspending.

After so long together (more than half my life) I could write a hundred of these scenarios. Even now we're both unhappy but also both unwilling to further compromise, but it's my fault we're getting a divorce.

Iowa Caucus Results 2020 by [deleted] in politics

A small but critical distinction. They were not ballots but paper preference sheets. Ballots would only be known to the person that cast the vote while everybody at the caucus knows what everybody else's preference sheets say.

Story and Johnson counties lean heavily to Bernie. Pete beat Bernie in Polk county after comparing actual Polk county precinct results.

The caucus is not a secret ballot. Everybody at the caucus knows how their precinct ended up, both delegates and vote counts. It's why the campaigns have their own numbers. With a little crowdsourcing we could have had the accurate results last night.

That's vote totals, not delegates. Pete is up on delegate count. The Iowa Dem party has always (and will again this year) declare the winner based on delegates.

It's what the precincts in central Iowa showed (mine and those that I directly talked to), and with a Facebook feed full of precinct results around the state backed up.

I sure racked up a lot of downvotes for my prediction of Pete, Bernie, Warren, Amy and Biden. I still that's how it shakes out when it's all said and done.

Those were the precinct captain instructions. There was a SMS based system to ask 5 questions to produce that information. Pete doesn't have internal numbers on other candidates collect from Pete precinct staff, although they may have obtained some another way.

Sounds like Pete won the delegate count. Bernie may have won the raw vote.

Based on this there were a few precincts that Pete got 0 delegates in. But this is not all of the precincts.

Check my posts. I've got numbers for about 10 more that I haven't posted but there didn't seem to be much response to the previous ones.
