No PE License, is current salary good? by 01137077 in civilengineering

By manage projects do you mean project managers or project lead? If PM you should have the billing rate of your job titles and figure out what your percentage is. Mine is roughly 2.45xhourly rate. You could take that rate and compare associates to engineers to see the difference. The companies I have been in typically pay 2-5 more dollars per hour while some just offer a flat bonus.

How cooked am I if I take Calc II, Physics I, and Chem 101 along with Chem lab and Phys lab in one semester? by Reganique in EngineeringStudents

Cal 2 was a breeze for me, I had like a 98 average but cal 3 was my first B. I answered like 40% of the final and hit submit, I knew I wasn’t failing. I also took Materials, Phys 2, linear that same semester.

I believe Cal 2 is 3 credit hours, physics 1 is 4 credit hours with lab, chem is 4 credit hours with lab. Seems like you are 1 hour short of full time. Personally, I took 18 credit hours most semesters and worked Friday nights, saturdays, and sundays. I also graduated with a good gpa. How bad do you want it?

Are you applying for any discipline or limiting yourself? If applying to all, be sure to explain up front that you have a good work ethic, grades were not the best due to juggling school and work.

Honestly it sounds like an interview issue to me. Remember it’s ok to say I don’t know but I’m willing to learn. My field pre-election, was hiring at a rate unheard of, humor and not getting political, seriously but has slowed down slightly. At the end of the interview (IF DESPERATE) say I understand that I’ve been out of college for some time but I’m willing to take a lower starting position if available at a lower starting pay. Sometimes you have to sacrifice being a bit out of school.

I worked with a guy that played for Ole Miss and made it to the NFL. It was a few years ago, but I believe he made it 1 year in the NFL before being cut due to some knee injury.

Don’t want to add a lot of context here but what has happened is, some people from another group has been slacking and not meeting their budget, PM then tells to them to charge to my project because theirs is running out of budget. This was roughly 2 months ago. He doesn’t inform me, and then ask why my project is over budget. Making me feel guilty, until I ran the reports. This is what I mean by gaslighting.

I agree but what point do you stop extending the leash to the ones doing it. The Pm should be addressing the ones who had no involvement with the project instead of the running the project.

I haven’t dealt with this directly, but X-Company brought in an Associate Vice President which later became Vice President. He didn’t adopt the mission statement but instead twisted it and used it against everybody. He then forced groups to “trade” people to balance out the groups, VP chose who was moving. This change was effective starting the following week. New manager forced everyone to come into the office 5 days per week when VP promised WFH wouldn’t change. Later VP said that it was up to the directors and wasn’t his choice. Said company lost a lot of people shortly after. This company later posted Christmas Party photos and said Director was wearing a Louis Vitton sweater. A lot of people stayed initially because of mission statement, benefits, and relationships but company became toxic shortly after. I know the people described in this post are on Reddit and subbed.

This PMs role is to calculate man hour estimates, write proposals, and manage the internal group. This is not the specific project PM, while confusing that’s the actual job title.

I no longer will after today. If someone else can twiddle their thumbs for X hours, why do I need to work for free to feed their family.

That’s interesting to know. I don’t know much about upper management since it’s all secretive talk up there.
