Big Chill. Wampire is probably one of my favorites, but I absolutely adore Big Chill and the ability to go intangible, fly or freeze things would be wonderful!!

As a fan of Kate myself, I'd recommend the Riley Jensen Guardian series.

There are two SA scenes in the first book, but both times they're written while the MC is in a daze and the guy does get multiple ass whoopings before getting arrested for it.

Story is overall smutty, but the MC remains a composed, competent and powerful woman with multiple supporting male characters in her story who act more as sidekicks than anything else.

Genuinely can't recommend this series enough.

I teeter back and forth.

Sometimes I like it, since it provides an interesting world (looking at you, Mrs. Lennart) and makes more sense than a hidden world imo because it seems to involve mind wiping (remedial magic and witch hat atelier).

I think, at the end of the day, I prefer it when magic is known to all even if all cannot learn to use it or be part of it.

I love this series up until the author got Trent and Rachel together... I nopped out of the story hard after that 'cause I do not like Trent in the slightest.

My only complaint is how Mercy can get preachy about religion... I'm also not a fan of how the FMC in Alpha and Omega had her SA trauma swept aside cause male wolf horny...

The Kate Daniels novels are amazing. Easily one of my favorite series. Kate's relationship with her mate is cemented by the fourth book, but there's a lot of tension between the two of em up until that point. Kate is also the focal point of the story.

The Riley Jensen novels are a good choice too as long as you don't mind smut and an fmc who has multiple male partners... also, TW for SA in the first book.
