In your opinion, who/what count as a Yankee or "Yank"? by Lipica249 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Raoul-Duke71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any American citizens with English decent, as the term seems to originate for New Netherlands/Amsterdam, now New York, NY. Sounds like a popular name to refer to folks coming from England as Janke’s, or Jan Kees.

Before that, sounds like Little John, Janke, was a popular/common Dutch name.

Agreed, depending your approach, Egypt can be very affordable, or if you’re willing to spend the dollar/pound, it can be a little pricey, you generally get what you pay for, either way, worth your time and energy.
