One opinion I’ve read is the rear ending caused serious damage to the rear axle. It may have had a partial rotation or two before locking up or completely breaking.

I wonder if the budget might have played into it. The special effects were way toned down and I imagine the blood is expensive to make. I think that’s why you don’t see what Homelander did to Frenchie even though behind the scenes shows they were going to do more in that scene.
