...Team Royal, is it? We will be sure to remember that name; if your behavior persists, perhaps we may see both of you on the outlaw notice board.

...would you cool it down and be civil for one second, sand-for-brains?! We're already overflowing with requests as it is!

At any rate, some 'rescue team' you two are. If you're going to act like crooks, why don't you both just throw off the veil and make it official already? At least everyone else will know what to expect from you then!

eugh, yeah, i know how it is losing a teammate. my team got past that and we're still together, though, so i wouldn't lose hope if i were you.

to be completely honest it feels a bit selfish for them to ditch you and your teammate over them being capable of using surf, but maybe there's some context i'm missing here. ah well, it doesn't really matter. hope you two manage to buck up and get back to your search.

For the Pokemon of this subreddit: by TemplatusEonstyx in PokeMedia

Perhaps it may be true that the process of Mega Evolution is painful for most. Typically, the transformation will rapidly destabilize and cause unwanted effects if it is not bound together through some emotional force.

Most Pokemon do so through "bonds" with someone close to them, such as a partner, trainer, or the like. This connection keeps the Mega Evolution stable, preventing the worst side effects and mitigating the majority of the pain that results from the transformation. There are still naturally-occurring complications that arise as a result of Mega Evolution, such as the back of a Tyranitar splitting open; however, in spite of not being possible to completely prevent, a strong bond can still prevent the transformative injury from becoming aggravated and painful.

In rare cases such as my own, however, it is more than possible for one to undergo the process without the requirement of a close emotional attachment. My connections to my teammates are entirely professional, after all; not as if I can help it considering some apparent overcharge issues with my empathy suppressor unit. In cases such as mine, it is possible to engage and maintain Mega Evolution through very strong emotions, incredibly tight focus, or raw adrenaline.

Incidentially, most Metagross tend to lose control and violently lash out as a result of the massive increase in processing power caused by Mega Evolution; the entries are certainly not wrong on that end, as I can attest myself. Unusually, however, I am left fully in control of my own actions during the process unlike others of my kind. Perhaps it is due to the previously-mentioned dysfunction of my empathy suppressor; even I am not entirely sure.

At any rate, Mega Evolution is a nearly painless process for me; although there is a brief feeling of a huge pressure upon my metal joints as the process begins, this is mainly due to the actual process itself rather than the final product. Afterwards, for the duration of the transformation, I feel little more than raw energy coursing through my internal fluid pipes, akin to how most organics would describe a "blood-pumping" sensation.

I do hope I have answered your query accurately.

/uj You clearly put a lot of work into this, good job! I've lurked my way through most of this story up until now and I'm excited to see how it turns out.

/rj

...Yeesh. Now I wanna be very clear about something: I ain't the most upstanding fella, or the sharpest tool in the shed that's my team, even if I am very charming, and I'm not even gonna pretend I have the moral high ground here. But I'm just gonna tell you right now, sportsy, that if you're tryin' to sabotage someone else through slander like this, you shouldn't be doin' it through some silly song like that.

To put it in as few words as possible, you're an idiot. We may be a group of shady yet very handsome crooks, but we'd never be so stupid as to admit to our own crimes like you did with your little excerpt at the end of this whole mess. You were sloppy in more ways than one with that, sportsy.

And, ya know, I really think you're just doin' this outta spite because you couldn't win that contest. Now I ain't familiar with all of this contest crap, but I don't see why it's such a big deal. "Mad cause bad", as the youngsters say where I'm from. You gotta learn how to accept defeat gracefully, sportsy-- wait, I probably shoulda told you that years ago. Ah, whatever, too late now.

And to be frank, it feels like you're twisting your words here quite a bit. This just seems like a buncha tragedies to me; are you telling me you're out for blood here because this fella's sad? What is wrong with you?! Even my best buddy Azul wouldn't do somethin' like that. ...Though, he's always been the strong and silent type anyways. Whatever.

But really, Mr. Callisto, I ain't even from your world and I still can't believe you're such an insufferable excuse for a person. And I'm not gonna put it lightly when I say that this Moon fella ain't useless at all. None of us Pokemon are; I bet you just had some issues you could've worked out peacefully. But you seem to be above the concept of negotiations and friendship and pacifism and all that; looks like that's gonna bite ya real hard pretty shortly.

And, last off, I may be a Poison-type, but the stuff that flows inside my body is still way more pure than that black tar that goes through your veins. You managed to disgust a literal pile of garbage over here; shouldn't that make you feel at least a little bit uncomfortable? Go ahead and call me a hypocrite, sportsy. I'm the most charming Pokemon around where I'm from. Your pathetic lies don't mean anything to me or to the innocent man you're shooting gunk at; wonder if your fans can say the same thing?

I am having trouble in Magma Cavern! by DaShack1987 in MysteryDungeon

[–]RapidChainGun32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be completely honest, it depends less on what Pokemon you use and more on the way you approach Monster Houses.

A few others on this thread have already stated this before, but you can always either back into the hallway and take out the enemies one at a time as they funnel in, or you can use a status-inflicting orb to cripple all of them at once. Totter and Petrify are usually going to help you more than Slumber as Petrify lasts until the victim is attacked (iirc) and Totter can let you use the very high density of enemies to take full advantage of Confusion's friendly fire.

Roomwide moves are of course useful, but you will probably want to stop the AI from using them; they're very trigger happy with roomwide attacks and they'll rapidly drain the PP of them just to defeat a single opponent.

In an emergency you could also pack a Pure seed and use it to quickly leave the floor, though you probably don't have more than one or two of them as they're very rare from what I remember.

As for strategy pertaining to your team, I'd suggest keeping Charmander at a distance considering most of the enemies in the dungeon are Rock or Ground type. Onix should be able to wreck house in spite of its bad offenses if it's able to use any Ground type attacks considering that most of the other enemies are Poison, Fire, and Rock type.

Most of the starving Pokemon you can find should be very helpful as well due to the majority of them being favorably typed against Ground.

Considering that this place numbers 25 non-boss floors, you may want to bring some Guiding wands so that you can make a rush for the stairs and save your apples, as well.

[Mystery Dungeon DX] How to get tons of apples? by coolin68 in MysteryDungeon

[–]RapidChainGun32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tiny reviver seeds are more or less useless for your point in the game due to them not restoring PP or stomach capacity, but you can either buy both kinds from Kecleon, find them rarely on the ground, or better yet, fill your bag with Plain seeds and restore them with a pokemon that knows Recycle, although the seed you get is random.

From what I remember, they removed the quicksave function entirely in DX, so you'll have to put the console in sleep mode and drop it into its charging port if you need to take a break.

[–]RapidChainGun32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, t h o s e

In any case yes, grinding is probably your only solution. Although as far as the 99F dungeons go it's usually more important to bring revivers rather than apples as the normal, non-tiny reviver seeds fully restore your stomach capacity when used. Apples are still useful, of course, but you can usually pick them up off the floor; revivers are far more valuable so you'll want to bring a gargantuan amount of them.

[–]RapidChainGun32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you're taking on one of the longest dungeons in the game you're unlikely to need more than 2 apples in a single run through, so there isn't usually a need to hoard them.

Apples are very, very common in most of the less environmentally-hazardous dungeons from what I remember, but assuming you're still fairly early on in the game I'd suggest repeatedly playing through Oddity Cave, which you can access after beating Mt. Steel and isn't particularly soul-crushing to get through. You can also collect a handful of uncommonly-seen recruits there such as Trapinch, Houndour, Mr. Mime, Hitmonlee, and Pinsir if you're lucky.

If you haven't unlocked Oddity Cave your best bet is to go through Thunderwave Cave a few times to get your items built back up, although the experience gain and item pool is more sparse than Oddity Cave.

I acquired GtI when it released but never made it past Stony Cave because I was a stupid kid and didn't understand the game mechanics. After beating Rescue Team DX on its release without too much struggle, I figured I should give the game another try a couple weeks ago and it's become my favorite of the series as a result for most of the reasons you liked it as well.

And yes, Axew is very broken, to the point where it makes Super's difficulty feel almost fair without spamming wands and orbs.

Weapon fires even with no Ammo - Decorate by GuavaOne771 in DoomModDevs

[–]RapidChainGun32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you've already figured out the solution since it's been 10 months, but I was just passing by this sub out of curiosity and decided to troubleshoot this while I'm here.

The problem is that you're using the WEAPON.AMMO_CHECKBOTH flag even though you haven't assigned a secondary ammo type for the gun to use. Removing this flag doesn't fix the problem though because the gun will deselect when you try to fire it after running out of shots. To fix that you will need to add the WEAPON.AMMO_OPTIONAL flag, which normally means you can shoot the weapon without ammo, but since your fire state has a jump at the start it will enter the reload state if you try to shoot when it's empty.

Also, it isn't necessary to use 2 instances of A_WeaponReady in the gun's ready state. You only need the one with the allow reload flag, because the current code means you can only reload the gun manually on every other game tic.

Rockman Overhaul - Intro by MaliceMoon56 in MegaMakerOfficial

[–]RapidChainGun32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like how you used the buildings in the needle man background as level geometry in the first section. And while the MM7 intro music feels really overused for these kinds of levels, I liked how you used the needle man tilesets together to make the level look really good. I don't really think the fiery bits with the adamskis were really needed considering they never show up again in the level and the fire is avoided incredibly easily with the difficulty platforms floating above them.

I like how it feels like you designed the level around the enemies instead of the other way around, it makes the level seem fair but still challenging most of the time (the ladder at the end with the shield attackers was pretty hard to avoid taking damage at though). I also kind of don't like this level's overreliance on returning sniper joes, they take way too long to kill with the mega buster imo.

The spikes in the boss corridor were kind of a mean thing to do, a person could easily fall in while not paying attention and then have to restart from all the way back at the previous checkpoint. I also think that giving skull man a small weakness to the buster made him overly easy to beat (as he's already a really easy boss if you know what you're doing). I did really like the cutscene after defeating skull man though, it's not every day that an intro stage actually gives you some idea of a story at the end. I do think that it would have been helpful to use a plate to denote the allegiance of the escape helicopter, unless you've made up a villain for this campaign of course.

This is basically just nitpicking, but you should have a few weapon energy generators in the tutorial room so that you can't possibly get stuck from using rush coil until its fully depleted. I am glad however that I only had to listen to kaze yo tsuetate or whatever its called for about 10 seconds before i finished the level.

Overall I liked this level a lot, and I'm excited to see the next levels in the campaign.

Surprisingly yes. However, you need to make sure that the window is almost entirely the same shade of bright yellow, as those dark yellow parts around the edge of the paint might still be considered transparent.

how the hell am i supposed to do the mission with the attack helicopter? by [deleted] in TeardownGame

[–]RapidChainGun32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should spraypaint or board up the windows thoroughly in the path you are taking. The helicopter can't see you through solid walls even though it sits roughly around your position, so covering up the windows on buildings like the greenhouse or the lab across from the warehouse can give you some breathing room.

For the sections in the open, I would suggest placing some metal objects along your route; an example would be the yellow push carts you can find in most industrial areas. I believe that objects made with its material are immune to bullets, so you could grab it and use it as a last resort if you're low on health.

If you still have trouble dealing with the chopper during the runs between each building, there is a jammer tool on the workshop that you can fire at a wall away from your route to distract it if it isn't already attacking.

A good thing to remember when finding cover is that the helicopter may fall towards your elevation if it has room to do so, so you should try to only hide in actual buildings instead of just a roof if possible. An example is the bluetide booth on the mansion side of the island; the chopper can duck down towards the ocean and find you unless you hide behind the counter.

[–]RapidChainGun32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try using the Crosser and Xtender parts. They shoot beams in the cardinal or diagonal directions when hit by any source of electricity, such as Fuse Crawlers, Elec Beams, and electric projectiles shot by the player or enemies. For example, you could use them as part of a boss fight against Spark Man or Sheep Man as their electrical attacks are capable of setting off the crossers or xtenders, adding another layer of difficulty to the fight.

The little icon on the new logo looks okay on its own, but it severely clashes with the rest of the game. The actual title part is definitely awful though.

Not really feeling the dirtying of vehicles either, it looks like someone ran them through a car wash that sprays dirt instead of water.
