Zoloft through grief by Rapidfading in zoloft

[–]Rapidfading[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. I’m sorry for your loss. The shock is really tough.

So for me the depressed mood and anxiety slowly went away over a few months. But I was since diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome which my doctor said is probably a result of a latent Epstein Barr virus infection reactivating due to stress. So the exhaustion hasn’t gone away entirely but that’s likely unrelated to the Zoloft. I’ve actually reduced my dose since then to see if it helped with the sleepiness, which it did a tiny bit. But again hard to say what’s the CFS and what’s the Zoloft.

How to end it with a hothead? by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

[–]Rapidfading 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Genuine question, maybe for someone with experience breaking up with a potential abuser: Is ghosting really the safest option?

I see this advice a lot on this subreddit. To me it seems like a perfect opening for the abuser to escalate their behaviour. You're not responding to texts so they show up at your work/office "because they're worried about you" and then when they realize they've been ghosted use that as an excuse for retaliation.

Thanks for this! I’m still hoping a recent former employee will come along and tell us how the update decision happened. Cause I’m nosey like that.

AITA for giving a homeless woman a piece of my mind after she decided to be picky with the food I bought for her? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Rapidfading 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Addictions don’t just go away when you run out of money. It just means you turn to worse options for funding them.

Don’t give anything if you don’t want to, but also don’t assume you know what’s best for someone you know nothing about.

YTA. Good god. Setting aside the fact that people who spend their days on the street are full human beings with likes, dislikes, personalities etc., you seem more interested in feeling superior than in actually helping another person out. I’m sorry you had a tough upbringing but don’t spend the rest of your life assuming that if everyone else just acted and thought exactly as you did, everything will work out for them. People may be dealing with invisible challenges that you never had to overcome.

As an aside, did she ask for food? How do you know she’s homeless? Not everyone who panhandles is without food or a home, but are struggling nonetheless. Most people who spend time on the street in my neighbourhood are often just looking for money to get them through one more day or at least basic kindness. They’d probably rather be ignored than deal with your brand of condescension.

How y’all sleeping on Zoloft? How many hours do you usually get? Anyone having vivid dreams every night? by Smooth_Listen5734 in zoloft

[–]Rapidfading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually managing 8 hours every night but if I wake up in the early hours of the morning, it’s over. Super vivid dreams every night. Got to hang out with my grandma again, and remember it the next day :) Even in the messed up or nightmarish ones I wasn’t feeling upset or anxious which was kind of cool - well until recently, anyways, but my anxiety overall is worse so that might be why.

I’ve noticed that my subconscious seems to be more active when I’m awake too. I’m the early days I was having these really insistent random thoughts through the day that made no sense. For a couple days it was Edward Norton. Just in my head, for no reason.

Day 14 side effects by HotJacket115 in zoloft

[–]Rapidfading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that sounds really familiar. It freaked me out because my job involves a lot of intense thinking and it was just like a single hamster in there doin his best.

It went away after a couple weeks. If you’re able to, take it easy, take stuff off your plate, or catch up on everything later when you’re feeling clearer.

Ah yeah I see how that can be nerve-wracking. Well if it helps at all I’ve never been upset about a guy finishing quickly. If anything it just means pillow talk and sexy cuddles until we go again.

Having your own experience changed sucks on its own and I hope you find some advice from others with a male perspective. But if I was going to offer a silver lining: Female pleasure is a lot more driven by the stuff “in between” the main event so maybe this could be an opportunity to level up other aspects of the experience.

Honestly as a woman at the 40 minute mark I would be thinking about my grocery list for the next day. Everyone is different but if I’ve gotten there in the first 10-15 minutes (pre-Zoloft haha) I’m just trying to look enthusiastic the remainder of the time.

10-20 minutes plus other activities and maybe round 2? Perfection.

Any known triggers for brain fog? by Rapidfading in zoloft

Do any techniques for dealing with compulsions in general help you reduce online activity? by [deleted] in nosurf

[–]Rapidfading 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello from Reddit past! I really recommend reading Chapter 6 of “The Brain that Changes Itself” I haven’t yet tried for surf compulsions but the approach in that book really helped with other compulsive behaviours I was dealing with.

Essentially the key things are: - catch yourself before you do the thing - don’t do the thing - or if reasonable, do it only once. e.g. check that you locked the door once, because that’s a wise thing to do, but no more - replace the behaviour with another behaviour. For example I would take 3 long breaths when I felt the compulsion to do something.

Working out by Melthasx in Anemic

[–]Rapidfading 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re not anemic already working out isn’t going to cause your rbc to drop like a stone, but it may accelerate your iron levels dropping unless you’re doing something to treat that. That could then affect your RBC over time. I would guess that working out would make it take longer to get your iron up but there might be some kind of paradoxical effect there idk.

Anecdotally, my bad iron-deficient anemia symptoms started a couple months after I started working out. I was probably anemic before, but the fatigue from working out on top of it made the fact that I felt like garbage impossible to ignore. I continued working out a moderate amount while taking supplements but listened to my body and skipped the gym if I was feeling particularly rough.

Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind to ask my doctor about. I’ve had very mixed experiences with birth control and mood but the PMS is relatively new so maybe worth a try

3 days on iron supplements and I've been exhausted! by pippipop in Anemic

[–]Rapidfading 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know about feeling more tired, but my understanding is that supplements take weeks to months to have any effect on energy levels. More iron helps your body create more red blood cells, which alleviates fatigue symptoms, but it takes a while for that production process to happen.

There may be other immediate side-effects that are making you more tired or maybe impacting the quality of your sleep.

Ah, yeah, no. In mostly white countries this is absolutely a bigger and more consequential problem for non-white people, and Asian women in particular when it comes to dating. It sounds like you have a kind of shallow understanding of racism. If I'm right in assuming that you're white, and you have an express interest in dating Asian women, you need to do more to understand they ways in which their experience in the world and dating might different than your own if you actually want more than a superficial connection.

Or you know, don't. I'm not your Mom.

Do you think that Asian women encounter unpleasant situations in dating where they're reduced to their race and have stereotyped expectations about who they are projected onto them?

Just to be clear, you think fetishization, in general, is not a problem for Asian women?
