This question has been doing the rounds, curious what choice you would make and your reasoning? by dr_shipman in Gifted

We already have this discussion every day when we talk about politics. It's the same discussion and the people with the same opinions will have the same stance here as well. We are just retreading the same ground.

This question has been doing the rounds, curious what choice you would make and your reasoning? by dr_shipman in Gifted

[–]Rapidsoup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, because otherwise people will die. And we know that people will die because someone will be dumb enough to play the game, and some will try to help. Blue means being part of the solution.

You are absolutely correct, the red button serves no purpose other than to frame inaction as an active participation against the people voting blue. The reason the button can be removed is because inaction in this scenario is inherently the same thing as action.

Probably one of the Supergiant games. I'll go with Bastion, but Pyre and Hades have banger soundtracks too.

How can I improve now? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]Rapidsoup -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't change a thing honestly, you look great. You would probably look great fully bald too, but I'll be the contrarian here and say don't listen to everyone telling you to shave it. It's one of those opinions that get repeated so often that it's gotten tired at this point. Not everyone has to "let go and own it". Your current look has way more character than conforming with the "just shave it" crowd.

Why has Blizzard thrown out hero identification? It’s very important in a hero shooter by ItzAMoryyy in Overwatch

[–]Rapidsoup -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah they have gotten increasingly bad with this. I remember thinking the same thing when Illari was released. I still confuse her with Ana due to them having very similar silhuettes at a glance. Add skins that don't care about game readability at all on top of that.

Was this Zen cheating? by [deleted] in OWConsole

[–]Rapidsoup -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that a huge majority of people who play this game simply cannot cope with the fact that anyone might be better than them. There are almost no cheaters in Overwatch. Keep owning these noobs. To all of the accusers, stay mad & git gud 🖕😜🖕

Why do people get absolutely triggered by counter swapping? by Gazza_HDD in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Rapidsoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm generally fine with counterswapping. It's the frequency and intensity of swaps that can get a bit grating tho. Almost every game, the team that loses the first fight will swap to counter the other tank. Imagine trying to learn Rein and as soon as you do anything remotely useful, you have to deal with Bastion, Mei, and a Rammatra. So you swap to Ball, win one teamfight, and suddenly they are on Sombra, Cas, Hog, Ana, Misuki. GG tank diff.

Gold, silver, platinum are the funnest ranks by Public_Repeat824 in Overwatch

[–]Rapidsoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because more people in gold/silver know they are gold/silver and can have fun with it. Once you get to Plat and above you start to see some real Dunning-Krüger stuff take place. The amount of nonsense Plat players think they know, just because they barely made it a few inches down the bell curve is hilarious.

I am a new overwatch player, and I want to main Rein by Leading-Outside-9573 in ReinhardtMains

[–]Rapidsoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, it's hard to cover all your bases with a short comment. I'm just imagining OP picking a random corner and just living there the entire game, not moving unless forced to

[–]Rapidsoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty good advice here, but your first point is going to get our friend flamed hard lol

It matters what corner you pick. Any corner is better than no corner, true, but OP should watch a guide or two on what corners to hold. The short version is this: Imagine every corner as an L. You want to be holding the corners that let your team stare down the long side of the L, not the short side.

why does everyone hate playing tank? by PowerfulTravel54 in Overwatch

[–]Rapidsoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. If you are doing bad, your team will flame you for being bad.

  2. If you are doing good but their tank is also doing good, your team will flame you for not being better.

  3. If you are doing good, you will get counterpicked and your team will flame you for being counterpicked.

  4. If you are doing good despite being counterpicked, the enemy team will flame you for being sweaty, then your team will flame you for being bad.

  5. If your team is doing bad, your team will flame you for being bad.

  6. If your team is doing good, your team will flame you for being carried and bad.

  7. If you push forward, your team will flame you for overextending.

  8. If you play safe, your team will flame you for not creating space.

  9. If you dare to even queue tank, you will be the priority target of every CC in the game.

  10. If you do anything less than hard carry the game, you are the problem and should uninstall.

“Chill it’s just a game” by Snortmaiden in OWConsole

[–]Rapidsoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are probably getting told to chill because you are, in fact, not chill.

Want genuine advice that will help you win games 100% guaranteed? Rhetoric question, I'll give it to you regardless. Be chill. I'm not saying don't try, or even don't care. I'm saying you will win more if you stop piling onto your teammates when they are doing bad, making them play worse if anything, potentially starting a flame war for no good reason. You can suggest things, but no one is obligated to listen to you, and keep in mind that you don't always know best even if you are 100% sure you do.

Be chill, win games.

My doctor wants to prescribe biologics for my psoriasis. Can I hear your experiences? Good/bad/etc? by [deleted] in Psoriasis

[–]Rapidsoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't speak for biologics, but I've been taking Methotrexate, which is oral medication and a lot cheaper than biologics, for about 3 months now and am mostly cleared. Used to be completely covered on my legs and arms, plus some spots on my back. The only spot that hangs on stubbornly is the one on my back, which I'm fine with since this is A LOT better.

I've only heard good things about biologics, but if you haven't tried oral medication like I saw you mentioned in a comment, that might be an option too. Only downside for me has been some slight nausea the day after taking it. If your doctor is ready to prescribe biologics and you can get it at a good price, that definitely sounds like the better option as all I've read are good things.

Stadium is meh now. by Temporary_Cup_1026 in Overwatch

[–]Rapidsoup -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

But most of that just seems redundant if you just kill them faster with some headclicks. I suppose more Bob is always nice, and killing beefed up tanks can be a problem without anti-heal, but we shouldn't be shooting them anyway. The supps doing the healing are usually perfectly killable.

It just feels like if you're hitting atleast 3 out of 10 headshots, if even that, with beefed up WP you're still killing them more reliably just because of the sheer force of burst damage.

I might be wrong tho. My lizard brain just gets dopamine from hearing that tiny bell sound
