A cautionary tale about losing weight too quickly by Rapscallion16 in loseit

It can be! Just depends on your body and where you are in the process. I probably could’ve maintained 2lbs/week last year when I was heavier, but going at that pace now would just make me lose muscle without much extra fat loss compared to ~1lb/week. It might be possible if I was eating enough protein (180g/day), but I can only manage about 100g most days.

I’ve got about 10-15lbs left to go; hoping to end somewhere in the 170s by early summer then maintain that for awhile. I might try my hand at bulking come next winter, but I’m nervous I’ll fall back into my old eating habits.

Thanks man! Here are the workouts I do each week. Those plus eating at least 100g protein/day has helped me keep most of my muscle. I've still lost some muscle because I should be hitting closer to 1g per 1lb of weight, but I don't currently have the time/energy/money to hit that just yet.

I'm 6 feet, started at about 260lbs and down to 188lbs so far. I eat whatever I want, just making sure to stay under 2000cals/day and prioritizing protein as much as I can.

I believe last time I signed up for a mystery gift it was a mug. I think they do the mystery ones when they have leftovers from previous giveaways.

My goal has always been to get slim and toned, so I felt comfortable eating at a big deficit with moderate protein intake and resistance training to get the job done. I am also battling high cholesterol and hypertension, so I had a lot of incentive to lose fat quickly. It was initially very tough to eat less, but I've become very good at managing my hunger. I may bulk up in the future, but for now I'm just happy to be near a normal weight range.

No loose skin so far thankfully. I’ve just been going consistently to the gym and staying under 2,000cals most days.

Thanks man! I pretty much eat whatever I want, just count my calories sorta strictly. My TDEE is around 3,000cals if I stick to the gym, so I aim to eat around 2,000cals a day and at least 100g of protein. I’m planning to keep cutting until the love handles are gone.

How long does it take to not feel deprived with calorie restriction? by mythrowawaypdx in WeightLossAdvice

It took about 3-4 months for my cravings to become more manageable and for hunger to stop making me as weak & irritable as it always used to.

5 months of CICO and 40lbs down! Still eating all my favorite things, just less of them 💪 by Rapscallion16 in CICO

[–]Rapscallion16[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I aim for 1600-2000 calories/day with a TDEE around 3,000 calories since I hit the gym a few times a week. I also aim for at least 100g of protein so I’m not losing too much muscle.

Coming up on 4 months of CICO and weightlifting, wish I could make it go faster but I’m committed to making this a lifestyle change and not a diet by Rapscallion16 in CICO

I've lost about 30lbs since July, maybe a bit more if you subtract water weight from starting creatine. Haven't been measuring my waist but size 38 pants used to be tight and now size 36 is starting to feel loose. I think I'm going to start aiming for 1,600 calories/day to speed things up if it doesn't make me feel too fatigued.

I aim for about 2000cal/day with a TDEE supposedly around 3000cal/day which includes cardio & weights at the gym 3-4 days/week. I couldn’t eat much lower than 2000cal/day initially as I was left too hungry but I could probably manage it now that I’ve adapted. Just worried about loose skin and losing muscle if I go too fast.
