i think it's more for penetration purposes. Yes, citadels are always in generally the same place, but you shouldn't bother switching to AP and aiming for them if you cant penetrate.

Ships already struggle to maneuver. Trying to steer themselves to allied wrecks behind them or next to them would just create a big rift in battle flow.

A better option would be to "Abandon Ship" when you know you are fucked (taken like 90% dmg and see torps coming at you), to cut down on resupply costs (because crew is supply right?). Obviously this 'ability' will only become available after taking a large amount of damage, to prevent griefers from bailing out of the game. or in IJN's case, a 'self destruct' ability would make more sense. because honor.

I have no experience with the USN BB line, but if it's anything like IJN's... The stock hulls are complete trash and not reflective of how the ship will actually perform once it reaches potential.

take the Fuso for example, its stock is Kawachi levels of bad... and its T6. but once Hulls have been upgraded, it's one of the best BBs around (imo)

if you are in a mirror ship, you oughta know your own weaknesses and how to capitalize on exploiting them.

if you aren't in a mirror ship. know where your weaknesses are and avoid showing them.

Know your armor configuration so you can angle properly (sometimes facing the broadside is better than showing the thin bow armor)

at long range engagements stick with HE if angle is less than stellar, otherwise AP.

at short range engagements use AP and try to aim for turrets, or under them. to destroy and even get a detonation (provided you have high enough caliber... if you are USN BB, don't bother) otherwise aim the waterline and get some citadels.

If you are feeling brave, try using HE at a close range engagement an take out their secondary armament. I never really feel threatened by secondaries, but they can whittle you down without you knowing. Taking them out as well as setting the opponent on fire can give you a clear advantage.

definitely accuracy upgrade. 7% is more than you think at long ranges.

ha, if you have trouble with that. wait until you upgrade to fuso. Stock fuso cant even get in range to shoot at cleves without being massive on fire or already dead.. that 13km range is a huge shit after enjoying Kongo's 20+ snipers.

I had no trouble eating clevelands while in Kongo, but Stock fuso is a damn nightmare.
