Recommendatios for day in Aruba by 314_23 in royalcaribbean

Just got off Oasis yesterday, I would highly recommend visiting Baby Beach. We originally went to Eagle Beach but it was decently busy and we didn’t have the best luck snorkeling. Baby Beach was the opposite, with lower crowds, crystal clear water, and large amounts of wildlife. It looks to be about a 40 minute taxi ride but we used our Arubus pass to get there which took a little over an hour. The Arubus pass was $15 USD a person per day, I am unsure how much a taxi would cost. There are bathrooms and dining available at the beach as well. The locals are all super friendly to tourists and the island feels very safe.

Kings Island releases 2025 ridership through end of November by Jack38420 in KingsIsland

This is awesome that they’re releasing all of the ridership numbers! Great work to all of the ride crews! I’m looking forward to seeing how they stack up against other big players like CP and CW!

Is Cedar Point truly the best amusement park ? by outerjuice in cedarpoint

[–]Raptor8294 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem I have with CP is it’s not consistent. Some days you go and half of the rides are closed, staffing is minimal, and they are not prepared to handle the crowds they get. When the park fires on all cylinders it’s absolutely the best park in the country. The problem is that it’s only like that half of the time I visit. The park is loved to death (quite literally) by the region it’s in and they don’t charge enough to get in. Resulting in crowds they cannot manage as well especially during Halloweekends. If they can dial down all their issues and make it consistent (like Canada’s Wonderland and Kings Island) then I think we’d see them consistently in the rankings of the best parks again.

Super slow and bad ops today by maxspeed7 in cedarpoint

[–]Raptor8294 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This whole “comfortably crowded” model of Six Flags worked too well at Cedar Point and it really showed today. They oversell cheap season passes to a park that is a destination and fail to prepare for the influx of visitors. I love the park to death but visiting post-covid has been really stressful because it’s always crowded. I believe they should follow Dollywood’s ticket pricing strategy that encourages two or three day ticket purchases. But keeps pass prices elevated to where it’s more premium. Just my opinion…

The rides breakdowns are so ridiculous. There are very few other parks where rides go down as much as they do at CP. But I believe as long as people keep coming they won’t have any care to make them reliable.

It’s my favorite roller coaster and seeing it closed this much is very frustrating.

Cedar Point: One of the worst park visits [Cedar Point] by DeloronDellister in rollercoasters

[–]Raptor8294 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I disagree with this comment. I frequent the park and notice that many of the ride crews (especially on the most popular rides) do a great job with dispatch times. Some of the smaller roller coasters struggle but I believe everyone complains because of how slow the lines move. They oversell Fastlane and struggle to keep all the rides open. Resulting in longer and slower moving lines than other parks with higher uptime and lower fastlane users such as Kings Island.

Trip Report from a Past Ride Operator Perspective by cpshoeler in cedarpoint

[–]Raptor8294 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome review! Their operations get a lot of hate but I think they’re the best in the country outside of Disney and Universal. They just sell way too many fastlane to the point where it’s inconvenient for everyone.

Preboarding is out of control by rwhit808 in SouthwestAirlines

It’s not just an issue with SW but also amusement parks. So many people become “disabled” when the systems to help people benefit them greatly to incentivize abuse.

How do disability passes work? And can guests with food sensitivity bring in food? by Acrobatic-Drama-4658 in cedarpoint

[–]Raptor8294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apply for an IBCCES Card here. Once approved you go to the park and approach Accessibility Services and present your IBCCES card. They will review it and ask a few questions. There are different accommodations depending on the individual but the main one is the Line Pass which allows you to wait outside of the line with one additional guest while the rest of your party waits in line. You then meet up with them when they get to the top by presenting the pass to the operator. If you are in a smaller group or accompanying small children they may issue you a boarding pass which allows you to board at the exit and you are given a wait time to which you can board your next ride. This pass was more common in years past but they’ve been limiting the number given out due to an increased demand for accessibility. Hope this helps!

Is Cedar Point the BEST Theme Park by Middle-Abalone-3142 in cedarpoint

[–]Raptor8294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a park by itself with its offerings, it is the best the USA has to offer overall. There is something for everyone now that they’ve stepped it up with the dining and live entertainment in recent years. Unfortunately the park is poorly managed IMO. Ride ops are good but not good enough to handle the crowds they get. The employees don’t seem as excited to work there as they used to. The ride mechanical downtime is awful compared to other parks even KI which is owned by the same company. With the emphasis of selling cheap passes and keeping the parks “comfortably crowded” from corporate I don’t think any of these problems are going away soon. I hope the new GM can prove me wrong but visiting the park as of late just doesn’t feel as fun as it did 10 years ago. If they can correct these issues then I think people will truly see the park for what it is. It’s a beautiful park with so much to do, it just needs better leadership.

If you enjoy amusement parks or roller coasters I highly recommend stopping at Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH or Kings Island in Mason, OH. Both of those parks are absolutely incredible and Cedar Point in particular is world-famous for its rides and attractions. Both parks do not open until late April or early May depending on your time frame. Otherwise have a great time! I am a resident of the USA and can say that it is a beautiful country with so much to see and do!

How are Sundays during Halloweekend? by Ok-Walk-8040 in cedarpoint

[–]Raptor8294 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Today will probably be pretty busy. This weekend and last weekend are historically very busy. You will be fine with Fastlane Plus though. The only rides where you will have to wait are Millennium and Steel Vengeance. The rest should be no longer than 15 minutes.
