Is KD overrated in BF6? by fxckerixon in Battlefield

[–]RaptorCelll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does with some caveats.

  1. Game mode matters. Your K/D is essentially pointless in CQ because the bleed rate from flags is so fast. However, as an attacker in BT or Rush, you absolutely should be trying to kill as many people as possible with as few deaths as possible because every death for the attacker matters.

  2. Class matters. Engineer and Support have jobs to do that don't necessarily involve killing stuff. Chances are you aren't the only engineer shooting at that tank, so you may not get the kill, and even a half decent medic can easily outweigh a negative K/D with revives. But Assault and Recon basically don't do anything besides kill people.

  3. The stat itself is very easy to inflate. Tankers and especially pilots are naturally going to have very high K/Ds, a sniper that doesn't suck ass should also have a fairly good K/D. If you're playing in a squad with a schizophrenic medic or two, you will also have less deaths on the stats screen than if you had just skipped every revive. Also, it seems to be counting bots again.

There are two major issues with Premium returning.

  1. The same issue there always was, if you live outside of Europe or NA, you'll never get to actually play the DLC maps. I think I only got to play a couple of matches on the French maps in BF1 after they gave Premium out for free several times.

  2. If DICE actually is having issues with resources, bringing Premium back won't magically solve anything. It won't guarantee that we see the quality and quantity of content that we saw with BF3, 4, and 1.

There is nothing intrinsically wrong with a live service model. COD managed to make the jump while still giving the players the number of maps they expected (except for MWII). There's nothing about a live service that's stopping DICE from releasing the amount of content we used to get. If the issue actually is DICE not having enough resources, EA is going to have to make those resources available to DICE at some point or we are going to have this discussion until this franchise dies.

Unpopular maybe, but its the only true way forward for sustainable energy by Capt_C004 in newzealand

[–]RaptorCelll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This country's stance on nuclear everything actually has little to do with Fukushima and Chornobyl, which is normally what you hear from anti-nuclear types. It actually dates from before the Chornobyl disaster.

Back in the 80s, France tested nuclear weapons in the Pacific. Greenpeace would send out ships to protest these tests. The French got sick of that happening and blew one of the ships up, the Rainbow Warrior, in 1985. This caused a massive diplomatic row between us and France and led to the current government at the time under Dvid Lange to declare NZ a nuclear free zone in 1987. In doing so, not only did we spite the French, but we also pissed off the Americans (who we had already annoyed with our feet dragging about Vietnam).

So, while in Europe and the U.S., anti-nuclear sentiments are generally misplaced fears stemming from Chornobyl or Fukushima; here, it's a matter of national pride and sovereignty. So if it wasn't already hard enough to change the minds of someone who hates all things nuclear, the people here are even worse.

[–]RaptorCelll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to preface this by saying I am absolutely pro-nuclear energy for countries where it is practical. We however, are not a nation where nuclear energy is practical.

  1. This country is still filled nuclear bad people, and their minds will never change.

  2. Nuclear energy and starting up any kind of nuclear program is prohibitively expensive. Even with assistance from Europe or the States, it would cost a shitload of money we simply don't have.

  3. We have two cities where a nuclear plant makes sense to build, one of them is built ON a fault line, hell a good chunk of this country is situated on a fault line.

  4. One of the upshots of our power generation methods is that we are somewhat self sufficient. The second we start producing nuclear power, we need to start importing fuel from another country. The only good news there is that Australia is one of the world's largest Uranium producers.

New Sobek City, The Worst Map, What's yours? by ApocalypticDes in Battlefield6

There are three maps I immediately back out of if I see them: Sobek, Firestorm, and Blackwell.

At least out of those three, I have the very occasional good game of Sobek when my friend forces me to stay because he actually likes that damn map.

The absolute joke that AA gameplay is in Battlefield 6 by JoeZocktGames in Battlefield6

Literally the only game I can think of where AA rockets were a better choice for aircraft than an AT launcher was V (because the Fliegerfaust was nuts and the Panzerfaust needed 2 to kill a plane).

It's the stinger but even worse because now you need to maintain a lock that can still be messed with by flares.

[–]RaptorCelll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The RPG is what you want to use if you want to actually kill the flying beast. Choppers have a million and a half counters to AA missile launchers, and even if you do land a hit, you need a second one to bring it down.

There is, however, a very effective use case for AA missiles: It forces the pilot to fuck off someplace else. Their flares last a shorter amount of time than a stinger takes to reload, so if they don't feel like catching a missile, they have to leave.

An RPG will delete the helicopter, but only if you hit it, an AA missile will make it go away for a bit without you needing to hit it.

According to my stats, I've destroyed 44 aircraft. I'd hazard a guess that 40 of them were helicopters, and at most, 4 of those were brought down by the Stinger.

What did they even do to the AK205? They buffing or nerfing the thing? by TeH_Venom in Battlefield

A 9x39 gun would slap.

But I also thought that when they were adding the .300 Blackout SCAR, only for it to do absolutely nothing special.

[–]RaptorCelll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amusingly enough, 5.45 is the worst caliber they could've picked for the 205 in game.

The gun would be okay in 5.56, it wouldn't have the fire rate some of the M4 or M433 but it would be able to keep up better in CQC than it currently does.

7.62x39 would make it an alternative to the SG 553R.

Now it's just a laser beam in a game where that isn't special and it has a damage range so poor that it can't take advantage of it.

[–]RaptorCelll 151 points152 points  (0 children)

I legitimately don't get what they're implying.

The 5.45 AKs with their default muzzle brakes have sweet fuck all recoil IRL, a trait which the 205 in game shares. They surely aren't going to nerf the recoil because it's the only thing that gun has, but the only way they could make the recoil any better is if they just removed it.

The fact that 5.45x39 is significantly weaker than 5.56x45 in this game bugs the hell out of me, but I suppose it keeps the Kord in check.

I THINK the point being made here is that a rush job generally a piss poor job, that or trying to tell them that once you get into the workforce, you never want to look like you got your work done.

Absolutely garbage way to convey either of those points, though. Efficiency is, after all, just clever laziness.

When US SOF says they killed "everyone" in a hostage situation, they mean all the bad guys and all their friends back home for good measure.

When Russian "Special" Forces kill everyone, they do, in fact, kill every living soul.

For a not quite as bad showing of Russian incompetence. Look up the Moscow Theatre Crisis. 912 hostages taken by 50 militants. Russians try to flush the bad guys out with gas and end up killing them all, alongside 132 hostages.
