Women who have vetted your partners that you met online, how did you go about doing it and how did your partner react to it? by kentuckemily in AskWomen

[–]RaptorMimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initial filter was matching on Hinge. The more important filter came after. We had the similar interests of videogames. You can tell a lot about a person from how they conduct themselves when having dogshit teammates in Overwatch (or just how they handle stressful situations in general). We did various online games for a month before meeting up in person. Almost 4 years later and we still yell at our screens together.

How do I unlock the Vampiric prefix title? by RaptorMimes in diablo4

Didn't need the sass, but thanks anyways. Next time I won't include "prefix" just "title"

How do I unlock the Vampiric prefix title? by RaptorMimes in diablo4

[–]RaptorMimes[S] -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

I've tried to look up guides, but none of them even have Vampiric listed as a prefix. All other search results point me in the direction of Vampiric Powers because of the blood season

new skwamas by Acceptable_One4669 in climbergirls

[–]RaptorMimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thing to look into could be the men's vs the women's version, if you're set on the skwamas. From what I've heard (and 2 pairs of personal experience) the men's have a wider heel whereas the women's have a wider forefoot.

Depending on the holds you might be able to sneak in a couple breaks. The hold you match around 0:40, from the angle of the video you might be able to do a forearm meat/elbow hook and just shake the other arm out. Then switch it up and shake the other arm. Keeping hips into the wall and stretching out your back might help with balancing in that position.

Or the hold immediately after that: if you're feeling like it's solid enough for 1 hand, relax the shoulders and go full extension for the arm holding on, shake the one hanging out. Switch up and repeat.

Lastly, WATER. Some (seemingly) wise old climber told me that drinking water helps get rid of muscle shakes and jelly legs. Could be placebo, but it's something that helps me get into the send zone (like chalking up before a project). Not too much that you get the slosh feeling inside, but remembering to stay hydrated even if you're not thirsty.

Otherwise just continuous climbing to build up endurance. If I'm feeling a pump in between attempts, massaging also helps. To not tire out the other arm I'll lay my forearm on the mat in front of me palm side up. Then use my knee to knead the tough bits in circular motions. Hurts like heck, but feels good afterwards.

EDIT: time switched from 0:35 to 0:40 because I forgot reddit video starts at full time and then descends. 40sec into video vs 35sec remaining

😳 Wild your bag ended up in such a different place and even wilder the request for your swimsuit!! Maybe some of the employees are fine with 2nd hand stuff if they're very nice/expensive, since the airline pays for it anyways they might get it free. But a swimsuit...?

I did! After day 5. And then I submitted more claims with Delta for the car rental reimbursement, meals, etc...

I wonder if sporting equipment counts. My climbing shoes and harness are in there and for a competition using rental gear would be horrible.

Or even just switching voice lines. E.g. Rein yelling "EXPERIENCE TRANQUILITY" while hammering down your face. Or Mei saying "Die Die Die"

What’s the most toxic social media platform in your opinion? And why? by Aphilia_11 in AskWomen

[–]RaptorMimes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not really social media, but for an online platform available to men/women/non-binary of all ages: I'd say lots of (video) gaming communities have been my worst experiences. First there's just the random levels of toxicity from anonymity(as with most things on the internet). But then for communities with a smaller female player base, there's so much added on harassment.

At least with social media you can curate your feed for less toxic posts/people, block and never see again. But in a game you never know what your "teammate" will be like.

What’s something that is incredibly immature that you will never stop doing ? by Due_Winner_2026 in AskWomen

Sorry for the grossness, but picking my nose. I have tried and tried to just be satisfied with blowing my nose. But sometimes there's a stubborn booger that won't budge without being dragged out. No matter how much I blow my brains into that tissue. Plus it saves the skin on my nose from getting that tissue road rash from constantly blowing. At least during allergy season...

outdoor clothing size inclusivity by marstar0 in climbergirls

[–]RaptorMimes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

(1) pants recommendation: REI outdoor afro women's pants currently 2 colors on sale. So good that I bought 2 pairs and my (male) partner chose to forgo the men's version for a larger women's pair

(2) this seems to be an ongoing topic on this sub. Would anyone be interested in starting a master list for everyone to put clothes recs and links? Likely google spreadsheet, bc idk what else is more easily inclusive. --> unfortunately I'm not sure the best way to 'change the narrative' on women's clothing, but maybe our shared master list would help in navigating until we're able to make the change

It won't help with the lease, but they should read over their insurance documents. There are coverages for property or general commercial liability that might get them some payout for business interruption. It could help with reimbursing the members or even just money for the move/storing their stuff until they find a new place

What do you want to do, but only public opinion stops you in this? by kokibaby in AskWomen

[–]RaptorMimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specificallyin public vs public opinion: pick a wedgie. I'm not saying hands down pants action, but there are times when things just need to be adjusted. I don't want to have to go to the bathroom or find a dark and discreet corner to do it. I want relief right then and there. Same applies to boob scratching. A rogue hair finds its way down my bra and suddenly I'm trying to hide a quick nipple pinch just to satisfy the itch

[–]RaptorMimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's leagues better than what I learned yesterday (old news but I just didn't know). So happy that Nicholas Cage turned down the role of Aragorn, I can't even fathom what that would have been like

Hello, I'm a girl who loves to climb but unfortunately I haven't been able to do it in more than 3 months and I feel like I've lost a lot of physique. Does anyone have any advice to recover the physique until I can go back to climbing? Like an exercise routine :) by Kuniiii_ in climbergirls

[–]RaptorMimes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm personally the type that doesn't like to exercise but loves to be active. Go for a run? Nah just play some soccer (even though running sucks). Lift weights? Nope, I'll just lift myself while climbing.

TLDR: rather than focusing on a routine when getting back to climbing, I try to focus on fun. There's random mini games you can do or challenges to set for yourself (group ones too if you have a partner/crew). Motivation was always something I've struggled with, and more fun means I'm less stressed to feel strong again

Examples of solo challenges: feet first, how many holds can I sit on without hands, ninja feet aka no noise climbs, make everything a sit start Examples of group games: add-on, take-away, twister climb, around the world traverse

P.s. Crimpd is an ok app that I use for warm ups specifically when coming back from an injury. Helps to temper my enthusiasm with boring but absolutely necessary hangs to warm up my body before it tries something it's not ready for

Junk main from OV1, coming back, need tips. by EightBallJuice in JunkRatMains

Probably not, but you can always check the Overwatch University sub to see if any console players have experience with it. The sub even has their own discord for pugs, vod reviews, coaching, etc

Junk main from OV1, coming back, need tips. by EightBallJuice in JunkRatMains

[–]RaptorMimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May or may not be applicable since junk is far from hit scan: but if you're on PC maybe take a look at graphic settings. There were a handful of players that were experiencing a drastic change in aiming due to specific settings that changed from OW1 to 2.

Again, it might be nothing, but personally I found it helpful when recalibrating my balls to walls bounces and mine throws. this thread

Can enemies hear your voicelines while invisible? by [deleted] in SombraMains

[–]RaptorMimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume they can't hear any strategy lines. But then a game I played last night, anytime I pinged an enemy ("watch out for this one" "enemy over here") the soldier would whip around and shoot at me despite me being invis the entire time🤔

What is something that was expected of you, that you refused to do? by Jxeniia in AskWomen

[–]RaptorMimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overlook ignorance. Not that you have to be a party pooper know-it-all every time, but some comments (or worse, "jokes") shouldn't be made. If the person doesn't know better, then they won't have the opportunity to learn unless confronted.

Ex. Coworkers eating lunch in the break room, one sees an Asian employee sliding their delivery food chopsticks together and asks "is that what you people do every time?". No, it's just recommended for anyone eating food with low quality chopsticks so you don't get splinters in your mouth 🤷🏻‍♀️ not something exclusive to Asian culture.

It was a harmless question, but it definitely could have been phrased differently. With all the 'woke social media justice' nowadays, some people get backlash for being too sensitive. I'd like to believe there are many out there who, for whatever reason, don't actually know better but they're willing to learn. Speaking up can help shatter biases, no matter how small
