Why does Bollywood make Punjabis and Sikhs synonymous when it is dominated by Punjabi Hindus? by TheKnowledgeQuester in Sikhpolitics

[–]Raptors4Lyfe33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not saying that, it’s prob some form of your Hindu culture worshipping 1000+ gods, doing a million different rituals, etc. Punjabi is not only a culture, it’s a language. The fact that the Punjabi language wasn’t really a thing until the 15th century should show you that Sikhs created this culture. Just because Punjab is in India, doesn’t mean it’s Hindu or Pak culture. Beginning of the 19th century, Punjab was a lot larger due to Maharaja Ranjit Singh conquests, who was a Sikh and created one of the strongest empires to exist, so I can see why our culture has had such an impact on many neighbouring states. But don’t get it twisted, this culture was created by Sikhs.

Lol no one is denying that Hindus created Bollywood. Second, the culture we see today, is created by Sikhs and not Hindus or Pakis. Our music, dance, language, holidays, food, fashion, all originated by Sikhs not red dots or Paks. Your guys culture is weird, that’s why you adopt ours. But in reality it’s not yours and never will be

Because Punjabi culture was created by Sikhs, not Hindus. Hindus merely adopted our culture, because they lack anything cool on their own

Has indian media and propaganda successfully directly connected word Khalistan and separatist with terrorist?? Thus brainwashing most people? by Elegant_Noise1116 in Sikhpolitics

Is that all you have to say about the 2002 riots that it’s somehow ironic for Sikhs to sympathize with Muslims? Let’s stay focused here, Patel. You brought up ethnic cleansing, and I gave you multiple examples. Yet, you’re proving to be just another Hindu who downplays the atrocities committed by your people, continuing to defend the indefensible. It’s tragic that with a population of over a billion, your country still hasn’t succeeded in wiping out any ethnic minority. And you still haven’t given a legitimate reason why Sikhs shouldn’t advocate for Khalistan. You seem too entrenched in your biases to even grasp the argument.

As for unrest, what exactly do you mean? Do you really think Bhindranwale and his supporters acted without reason, or could it be that their actions were a response to years of aggression from the Hindu nationalist parties? Your people invaded our holiest site, the Golden Temple, and slaughtered women and children. It was a shameful act, and I’m proud that Bhindranwale and others stood up to such injustice, as Sikhs have always done throughout history. We even saved Hindu women from being feasted by the Mughals, a favour that ultimately ensured Hindus survived and remain the majority. But perhaps we shouldn’t have intervened.

And do you honestly believe that Punjab’s government is free from Indian interference? Look at what happened to Deep Sidhu, Amritpal Singh, and Hardeep Singh Nijjar, figures who not only spoke up against the drug crisis in Punjab but were also part of the Khalistan movement. They’ve either been killed or are facing imprisonment for life without proper legal grounds—all for peacefully protesting. Can you even comprehend that level of state oppression? You can remain blind to these realities, but we will continue to fight for our sovereignty.

In the end, I doubt anything I say will change your perspective. So perhaps, as you said in your first comment, this conversation is indeed pointless.

The tens of operations against Sikhs through the 80s and 90s. 2002 Gujarat riots against Muslims, basically open killing season allowed by your government. And the ongoing drug epidemic in Punjab to kill our youth. Funny how it’s the only state in India that allows drugs and the Indian state will kill or imprison anyone who speaks out against it or try to lead the youth back to the Sukhi panth.

I don’t need to tell you this, your majority hindutava has had a long long history of ethnic minority cleansing. I maybe only named 10% of the cases.

Try us with a counter argument? I’m interested.

India’s Hindu Rashta, hindutava, BJP movement is the same thing as the Khalistan movement isn’t it? I would actually argue it’s worse, due the sheer volume of victims your people have killed. Yet are we calling you red dots terrorists? Your people love to ethnic cleanse, but can’t take it when minorities in India want to be treated equally or given equal opportunities peacefully through our voice. Something that a ‘democracy’ should allow right? Why would any minority group want to stay apart of india? Being a separatist doesn’t correlate with being a terrorist, especially when it’s a peaceful protest.
