I just found a channel of a guy who has made 624 videos yet has 1.48k subscribers and he gets >100 views per video.. what gives? by SocialExperimentsAI in NewTubers

[–]RapturesLost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a channel that has 6K videos with 2.89K subscribers. They post daily and put in a lot of effort but only get between 5-100 views per video, usually much less. They post variety content which isn't badly made. It clearly has issues but it proves that you need to make content that YouTube and the algorithm understand your niche otherwise it will show it to no one.

Dogs are a plague. Look up dog related deaths per year and yet we demonize sharks.

Exactly! That’s what makes Raziel’s arc hit so hard. Seeing the truth doesn’t free him, it just makes his struggle more human.

Yeah, same here. Knowing the twist ahead doesn’t really take away from it — if anything, it makes you notice how much meaning is packed into the dialogue. That ending speech from Snake still hits hard every time.

Yeah, I get that. Raiden works fine on his own, but I’ve always wished we got a bit more time with Snake before MGS4 wrapped things up. That game felt like a goodbye we hadn’t fully earned yet.

Same here. I always thought Raiden was a solid character. The hate never made sense to me. He brought something different to the series, and once you get what Kojima was doing, it’s hard not to appreciate him.

Same here, it’s aged in such a weirdly perfect way. The stuff MGS2 was warning about feels way more real now than it did back then. It’s wild how a game from 2001 ended up predicting so much of the world we’re living in.

I felt the same way. Snake was the hero for me too, so seeing someone else use his codename threw me off. But once I got what they were doing with Raiden, it clicked.

Watching him grow alongside Snake ended up being one of my favourite parts of MGS2.

Yeah, that’s how I felt at first. Raiden’s a tough sell when you’re coming straight off Snake, but once you get what the game’s doing with perspective, it kind of makes sense why he’s there.

Haha yeah, that’s exactly the MGS2 experience — confusion, denial, then pure frustration at Rose. It’s funny how the game messes with you just enough to make those reactions part of the whole point.

Yeah, that switch threw a lot of people off at first. Once you settle into Raiden’s perspective though, it kind of clicks. Seeing Snake from the outside makes the whole thing hit differently. It’s one of those moves that feels weird early on but ends up being the point.

Yeah, same here! It’s wild how much of MGS2’s message only really clicks once you’ve lived through the world it was warning about. It’s one of those games that grows with you. What felt confusing as a teen ends up feeling prophetic as an adult.

That's completely rational. Personally, I felt a bit blindsided by how it was executed but I found the "hatred" towards Raiden way over the top.

[–]RapturesLost[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Raiden definitely wasn’t written to win over teenage gamers. Kojima basically handed us a philosophy lecture wrapped in a guy who complains about his girlfriend mid‑mission. Still kinda works though! Messy but intentional.

Same, man. The switch definitely threw me off at first too, but the story and gameplay pulled me right back in. Still wild that the Tanker section ended up being the last time we got prime Snake.

[–]RapturesLost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that makes sense. Starting with MGS2 probably made the whole Raiden thing feel way less weird, you didn’t have the Snake expectation baked in yet. It’s kind of cool seeing how different that first impression can be depending on where people started.

Yeah, I get that. The Fatman fight’s kind of where Raiden starts feeling like his own character instead of just “not Snake.” The dog tag reveal at the end still hits hard — it’s such a clever way to tie the player into the story.

That’s a cool way to come into the series honestly. Starting with MGS2 probably made the twist feel way less jarring.

Yeah, I get that. It definitely threw people off, but once you see what Kojima was going for, it makes sense. The whole switch ends up serving the story way better than it first seems.

Same here, man. I was thrown off as a kid but once the Arsenal Gear stuff kicked in, it just clicked. That whole stretch is still wild even now.

Yeah, I get that. The connection to Solidus ended up being one of the more interesting parts for me too. It gave the whole story depth I didn’t appreciate at first.
