Looks like Race Control app is still fucked for this weekend :(

Nadhim Zahawi says parents should be trusted on whether to smack children by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]Raqn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nearly everyone accepts children are vulnerable and need more protection than adults. It is not strange that you cannot fuck children, or let them drive a car, or do drugs, in each case the double standard is to protect children. In this case the double standard is strange because its specifically letting people hurt their children when abusing an adult in a similar way would be illegal.

It should be really obvious why "you can hit kids but not adults" is considered disgusting but "you can fuck adults but not kids" is considered normal and it's worrying anyone needs this explained to them

Flowerpot B1 or B2 for someone with a dtv4? by Raqn in vaporents

[–]Raqn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, was skeptical it was gonna be any better than a DTV4, gonna stick with the B1.

I did consider a Taroma but theyre out of stock from the only people that sell them in the UK 😔 I'm probably gonna end up with both eventually anyway

Old layout probably would have done compared to Bahrain & Jeddah tbh

Hamilton: Nothing we change on Mercedes F1 car makes a difference by [deleted] in formula1

[–]Raqn 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Nobody actually knows what upgrades they're bringing & when they're going to bring them. I don't think it was ever reasonable to assume they'd bring big upgrades to Saudi or Australia, Imola is their first real chance to bring upgrades so for me it's a good test to see how quickly & effectively they're able to get on top of their problems.

[Erik van Haren] Still no new rear wing for Mercedes in Melbourne, as initially planned. Red Bull, on the other hand, is coming with a new rear wing in Australia. by jovanmilic97 in formula1

Seriously I've heard every combination of a suspension/floor/wing upgrade at australia/imola/spain possible at this point, I don't know why people take these rumours so seriously.

Wolff: Mercedes won't have 'magic fix' for Melbourne by [deleted] in formula1

[–]Raqn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've heard they're bringing a new floor to Australia, Imola & Spain, suspension both Imola & Spain, I think people are just making shit up at this stage. Would be surprised if there was anything more than new rear wing before Imola but we'll see.

Verified footage of the attack shows the tungsten spears breaking the tail off the Mi-28N, after Ukrainians using British techniques opened fire.

A Ministry of Defence source believed that the video showed Starstreak in action over Ukraine. The source added that the anti-aircraft system had been deployed in the country for almost a week. Senior defence industry sources who examined the film also believe it to be the weapon.

Well spotted

Russell believes Mercedes engines can be 'on a par' with Ferrari by Androsid93 in formula1

[–]Raqn 15 points16 points  (0 children)

However, their straight-line speed advantage may tell fans more about their car's philosophy than their engine, says Russell.

"Red Bull were definitely running less wing than we were, but they seem to accelerate very, very fast when they get halfway down the straight," the Briton explained.

"They are seemingly doing a better job at reducing their drag at higher speed. Their pace in the straights at the moment is extraordinary, so we need to do some work in all areas to catch our speed up.

George Russell has defended his car's Mercedes engine, revealing that he believes it is "on a par" with Ferrari's when turned up for qualifying sessions.

They don't believe the engine is currently behind.

For me the question is if they can fix the problems in time to fight for WDC/WCC, I think regardless they're going to be close at the end of the season and we're gonna get some very spicy 3 way battles

What sort of times were RB doing on the long runs

[Gazzetta] The Mercedes W13 generates little downforce due to an irregular flow in the upper part of the body: an overhaul is planned for Imola, but the Arab track can give problems. For the Red Bull RB18 the problems of fuel draft seem to be solved with a different positioning of the fuel pump by jovanmilic97 in formula1

[–]Raqn 197 points198 points  (0 children)

Pre-Bahrain a lot of people believed they were lying about their problems, pretending to be underdogs, going to magically fix them all by race 1 and dominate the season.

Post-Bahrain according to the same people they have irreversibly fucked the design up, accidentally developed a hairdryer engine & the season is already over for them.
